watching my gf play this and christ, we're trying to be fair and not just compare it to antibirth or just be cynical or whatever but wow this is honestly so underwhelming and lazy.
it's kinda hilarious, a community mod is arguably much better than the official priced product
i mean with ab+ it just seems like a lot of the choices on difficulty seems to be from contempt for the player, not to make an interesting and fun challenge
[sp]So Pokemon Go (the item) will apparently randomly spawn perma-charmed, immortal, friendly, always firing enemies on the floor you are on. [/sp] :magic101:
[sp]nevermind they follow you from floor to floor. Portable Army aw ye.[/sp]
Most of the new items are utter fucking shit too. This isn't worth the money. Just play Antibirth.
I feel like a dick for saying it but I'm glad anti birth came out just before this. It really shines a light on just how low effort nicalis has been with their dlcs. Antibirth is just straight up Isaac dlc done right.

Rag Man on Floor 1? Just fuck my shit up fam
Gonna see if I can refund DLC because it legitimately bricked my game, lol.
New item
[sp]"The World", a new spacebar item that completely freeze enemies and bullets for 9 seconds and grants an improved Charm Of The Vampire effect while it's active.[/sp]

Is that actually true? That's hilarious if so, but only if it makes the sound
I just hope that Antibirth is either added to the full game or that it gets the Afterbirth support soon, would like to play it with characters like The Lost or Lilith because Holy Mantle on The Lost made him such a fun character.
That and most of my progress is on Afterbirth.
Wait, did it even launch with mod support?
Complete and utter waste of money.
Not only is it unreliable in terms of stability, the difficulty has been ramped to 11, and in an extremely un-fun way.
Harsh bosses moved to earlier floors, new and painful to fight enemies from the get go, a lack of strong items, or item rooms that have nothing at all! The bosses, enemies, items and floors that are added are underwhelming and just plain unfair.
Please, just play Antibirth, a free mod that beats the snot out of this DLC.
Do not buy this.
My review on steam

Garnish to the steak may take a day or so.

that happened in afterbirth all the time, its not a part of AB+
that happened in afterbirth all the time, its not a part of AB+
Should have stated, unrelated to my ab+ difficulties
Garnish to the steak may take a day or so.
That's not garnish, that's the fucking steak itself. Didn't AB+ START as a bonus alongside the mod support (paying for mod support are you fucking kidding me)
Even Northernlion is not having a fun time

if the egg hates it, then it's absolute shit

...Half of the positive reviews are from people who can't even launch the game?
Killburn I guess is sad by the quailty of Afterbirth+
Well I guess I'm the only one having fun so far. The Pokey Man challenge was a blast and I played a couple of runs of Isaac with a few neat items.
The biggest glaring balance issue in my mind is the portals. You have things like Stone fatties and the difficult bosses that go a little too far in certain respects, but I've still generally been able to deal with them, but the portals are fucking bullshit, especially early on. You basically have to kamikaze the things. They spawn too many enemies too fast and too early in the game. They should either:
Be limited to one enemy at a time
or
Work like boils, taking a reasonable amount of time to spawn a minion, and losing charge as it is damaged.
Although to be honest the whole concept behind the portals feels kinda' janky to me. Binding of Isaac really isn't designed with random enemy spawns in mind. Maybe as an occasional encounter, but these things are fucking all over the place.
I want to get the game, should I just buy the base game and install antibirth? All I see is hate towards the DLC. (Unless I need the DLC to get Antibirth to work)

Nope, Antibirth just needs Rebirth. Highly recommend it, it's really really good.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around how the devs even made some of these decisions. It feels like the devs just watch random streamers and see how much people laugh when the streamer dies, and so added a ton of shit to kill the streamer and make him flip out so the audience has fun (but no one else lol)
The Binding of Isaac more like The Suffering of Northernlion

Northernlion is super forgiving and tends to have fun even in the harshest situations.
He's flat out upset

according to some guy in /r/themoddingofisaac, the modding api has almost no documentation
wow
Man, the final level is really underwhelming than I was hoping it would be. (AB+ and Antibirth spoilers ahead)
[sp] the void is just a randomized mix of every floor while running into random bosses in multiple boss rooms on the way, which makes no sense since the chest and the dark room already do this for almost every room. plus the final boss doesn't even relate with any of the game's lore. it just transforms into different bosses every 5 seconds, and it looks so cheap the way it does. it just blinks into a random boss. no special animation or anything. the ending doesn't even shed more light on the series, but instead it's telling us stuff we already knew.
meanwhile antibirth has a whole new chapter with a creative environment compared to the void, and the witness makes delirium look like a joke.[/sp]
the entirety of antibirth makes afterbirth+ look like a community mod instead and you're better off downloading anitbirth than buying afterbirth+

I'm seeing it here, looks like [sp]animation editor, itempool editor and room editor[/sp]
