Maybe if we're lucky and the stars align we'll get a response to this madness, not just a response but also some action. I like what the update is trying to do but it has some glaring issues that need fixing like the just unfair balance

Somehow it didn't even cross my mind all this time up to release that the modding tools might not be that thorough. I'm leaning back toward the side of getting a refund now. I mean, supposing the modding tools turn out to be amazing, and people are able to make the game so much better than it ever was, I can always re-purchase the DLC during a future steam sale or something.

Man, is Hard Mode in Antibirth tweaked up? I'm really getting fucked up on the first couple floors.

I like what the update is trying to do but it has some glaring issues that need fixing like the just unfair balance[/QUOTE] It took well over a month before the devs back-pedaled on their decision to make the Red Lumps in the womb teleport into the player (and when they finally did they tried to claim it was a bugfix and not just a bad idea) and Krampus is still able to cause unavoidable damage with his spinning brimstone attack. yeah at the very least ~if~ they decide to back-pedal again, it probably ain't gonna happen anytime soon lol.

For the record, it's not really possible to filter out what users upload to the workshop. All the validation would be done client-side, and people can just patch that out. It's not possible for them to prevent people from uploading .exe files.

Well, I like a challenge and the excitement of discovering new things so I'm enjoying it so far. Come across few clever enemies and items too. This game will punish players who don't pay attention that's for sure. Feeling an increase in difficulty, which is a welcome challenge to me.

if I'm understanding this correctly, standalone mods the size of antibirth aren't possible with these mod tools?

You sure? I'm certain I had it on a run earlier and it seemed normal, but might be getting confused with a run I had this morning, before the expansion launched.

We don't really know how much either party had a hand, considering Ed's been looking after his new kid, his work output might of been diminished. But idk, all that stuff is just pointless guessing. Anyway, I'm not gonna get Afterbirth+, but I am gonna check out Antibirth now! Seems like the smarter option all things considered.

Well I refunded AB+. It doesn't feel like a DLC worth the money and the only thing thing that said to be "Id' rather be playing this over regular Afterbirth" was Apollyon who, while weaker than the rest of the cast at first, erases being screwed by item RNG by turning trash passives and redundant actives into usable stat ups and powers he can still use. Also AB+ now has a "mixed" review score on Steam and my review is now the 4th most helpful. Silver lining.

If Nicalis does a good job at managing and adding community mods, AB+ could easily become a great long term dlc. I could already picture an overhaul pack for sprite art, balancing, etc. As it is now tho, AB+ isn't worth even 5 bucks imo.
