There's nothing wrong with absurd difficulty occasionally for the lols but not in a fucking randomly generated RPG with permadeath.
Edmund is considering adding the external item description mod as an official optional overlay:

Would actually be handy if you integrate mods into it. I'm sure if you mod the game enough with items you'll forget their effects every time.
the thing is unless you're some sort of streamer / purist you're just going to check what an item does in a wiki
it's just being obtuse past a point to not say it
Unicorn Stump + E. Coli is a pretty fun combination

Even better if you can do Midas touch with unicorn stump while holding 99 coins. Fucking unstoppable then.
Damage on touch items combined with items that prevent you taking contact damage basically just turn you into a bulldozer, and its gr8
I consider Isaac's difficulty should be how Dark Souls' difficulty is. Difficulty in enemy patterns and memorization. Hard to start with, but gets easier the more you practice.
I think the third option in that poll might have included those us who really just enjoy interesting synergies - e.g. soy milk + Jacob's ladder
I want high difficulty, but no BS. The game ends up being a gamble usually with a payoff when you get a fun combo. I wonder what it would be like with crazy synergies every run.

Pretty much how I feel it is, with the added requirement that you can be adaptable to changing variables each run.

I have just started playing BoI but sadly I only have the OG Binding of Isaac with Wrath of the Lamb. How worth it is it to get Rebirth?

As someone who once was in your position, buy it. But if you want to 100% OG BoI+expansions do it before playing rebirth.
anyone else remember when BOI first came out and the biggest brick wall was fuckin gurdy? now she's on the same boss pool as big horn :v:

I think the most ironic thing is that Gurdy Jr. and the Gurglings are both much more difficult to beat without taking dumb damage than Gurdy and Mama Gurdy.

My very first run was up to Monstro 2 and I remember telling people (even here I think) about how to abuse the brimstone loop he had later on.
Second run I beat Mom and I'd continue to win most of my runs from there. To me, Gurdy was always super easy because if you stood in a certain position she was sooo slow to fire that it was weird seeing all the posts about her.
Then I ended up finding NL like a day or two later and watched him die to Monstro, the hardest boss in the game.

I got platinum god in OG Isaac and burned myself out so hard on the game that when Rebirth came out I did like 3 runs and just couldn't be assed to play it. Now I just watch videos time to time.
I'm secret scum
new update
They added a new bloodstain to the mimic chest now, along with the previously added indications.

Oh good, the hellscapes continue.

that's always been most of the time a cake walk for me, the Bloat and Peep are the ones I have trouble with. Also I got introduced to big horn during the backwards challenge and easily lost, heck I wish I save my seed but I was introduced to the vis sisters in a pack of 6 in the basement floor in greedier mode.

And you are supposed to avoid damage in that room in which way?
And you are supposed to avoid damage in that room in which way?
They probably designed the room with only the red nerve endings in mind, somehow forgetting that the yellow variants have a rare chance to replace any red nerve ending.
Void portals also disappear, after they spawned around 1-5 enemies. Thank god.
Anyone else opened Afterbirth instead of Antibirth by mistake?
all of my Antibirth progress is gone :(
eating mega blast is void is fucking sick, and then you get battery spawning items
What did Edmund mean by this?

the fact that this is fake is unspeakably disapointing

It's not fake though.

Also they've apparently finally put together a reddit thread for listing all the bugs/issues with the game
https://www.reddit.com/r/bindingofisaac/comments/5n631d/edmund_wants_us_to_put_together_a_list_of/
Someone add the fact krampus' brimstone spin can cause guaranteed damage if he's near a wall tia
Looks like the discount period is over now. This shit still seems like a mess so o well I guess I'll get it during the summer sale, assuming they fix it up by then.

i feel shame for my words and deeds
I just went back and played WotL for the first time in a while and I gotta say I had some rose-tinted goggles about this whole thing, speaking as someone who has 125 hours in it and has platinum god
Discounting just how fucked flash is and how many QOL improvements rebirth has made over time there are some stupid fucking rooms that i dont miss at all. Like 50% of the rooms in that game are rooms where half the floor is missing/spikes/blocked off and you have no room do dodge or move or do anything. The worst example is this fucking room with a bunch of catwalks and mullibooms. I'm sure if you ever played WotL you know which room I'm talking about. No idea what he was thinking about with that one.
