Keep in mind this doesn't confirm that Antibirth will be officially added at all.
I didn't expect they'd appear in the bestiary, that's really cool!
Yeah. Given the somewhat spotty mod support, I expected adding monsters to the bestiary to be one of those things that you just can't do, but it's actually really straightforward. It's all neatly contained within the xml info.
Really glad they included that support too, because I love me some bestiaries.
Completing an entire Boss Rush with half a heart was pretty nuts since I'm not a very great player.
But what really takes the calk is running into a certain obstacle left behind by the Carrion Queen when going to claim your prize.

Anyone else kinda feel like both the new characters in Antibirth have drawbacks that way outweigh the benefits??

I dunno, I think trading soul hearts for item charges (and Strider-like Options when you activate an item) is a great benefit, even if it makes getting devil rooms super difficult. Jacob and Esau are difficult to play as, but they're still better challenge characters than poor old Keeper.

I kinda feel like there's not that many good active items as it is, much less ones worth trading soul hearts for.

While this is true for a lot of items, the actually GOOD activated items synergize well with any Bethany run. Having a lot of soul heart charges handy means you can spam otherwise unspammable items at will, and adding other charge-providing collectibles only sweetens the deal.
The one thing I have to say about Bethany is while she is a really good character in my opinion, if you're relying on the Book of Virtues for serious damage The Witness will shit on your day, and I kinda wish that wasn't the case.
I dunno if it was mentioned earlier but there's actually a third character cut from antibirth

Bethany has the drawback of you will never enter the guaranteed devil deal loop.
Jacob is pretty fun but yeah I can understand how he sucks. I had an item room with Ipecac on one pedestal and Pyromaniac on the other, but I managed to kill myself just a few rooms later so didn't get to see it come to its ultimate fruitition.
This guy made Pac-man in Isaac:

That discord sound though.
Hey, wanted to try to get into modding, but don't really know how to do it.
Is extremely complicated? main thing I want to do is makes some items, and maybe challenges
Now that the [sp]Delirium[/sp] boss has apparently been fixed or modified, it actually kind of freaks me out now. I think they even made the fight itself far more interesting than when I first fought it right after AB+ launched. It gave me that real sense of "woah what the hell is going on" with the pacing being sped up a little.

Just download some mods and see how they do things.
Make sure to have the LUA documentation from the mod tools folder on hand as well, so you can figure out why the mods are calling for certain things.

Now all we need is an Isaac amiibo.

Ok NGL if they made Isaac amiibos I would buy them in a heartbeat
Am I the only one disappointed with the new DLC?
It feels like Edmund and co had lost their touch with making the game frustrating, yet fun and just made it as unfair as possible, and the state it was in when it released was embarrassing to say the least.
and the last floor was a real letdown, being literally all the floors + boss rush but different

No
I really wish mods didn't disable achievements. There's a ton of cool item mods that I want to be a part of my game since item pools work properly now, but I want to also get achievements...it's really lame. I understand they're going to eventually allow graphics mods to enable achievements but it would be nice if they just allowed any mods really. It's a single player game! Who cares if someone cheats to get achievements? They can do that already. It's kind of annoying. I don't want to have to 100% the game just to use some neat little items on the workshop.

It's not just that.
Even if you 100%'d the game, you can't use the donation machine as a bank anymore.
I like how mods disable achievements but cheat engine is A-okay. :goodjob:

Wait so if i use literally any mod, I won't have a donation machine in my shop anymore to farm coins from?
That is such shit lmao. O well someone will probably mod it right back in anyways.

They still haven't disabled using the custom challenge creator in daily run, so if I wanted to I could just use Sharp Plug, We Need to go Deeper, the Emperor, and what have you to get an insanely low run time and top the scoreboard.

Having an actual physical Isaac copy sounds awesome and that just adds a bonus on top of having a Switch version for me.
