Well, that was a wild ride. All that's left is the 31 daily runs achievement

Hopefully they're just waiting till the next patch for the PC to add requirements in for Apollyon.

Damn dude! I have ~950 hours and I'm still missing like 20 achievements. That's awesome!

Why bother?
Why bother?
I dunno, they've been weird in the past about bulking their stuff together.
Unless you mean about having to unlock Apollyon, in which case I think it's better for a new player who decided to get Isaac plus all the DLC at the same time.
is there any way to import your default isaac saves into antibirth? I really wanna try it out but going through all the mom's heart kills, unlocking all the characters, etc is a huge obstacle for me trying the actual new stuff

it should do it automatically, mine did
any updates on afterbirth / antibirth compatibility?
it should do it automatically, mine did
not for me, can't find anything online about other people having this problem
tried downloading someone's complete save file and that didn't even work so idk
any updates on afterbirth / antibirth compatibility?
not really but Kilburn did give an update on the development of antibirth in general a few days ago apparently
To be more precise we're busy working on an auto updater (and also getting some mirrors to host the update files, that's kinda important too). That should make updates a lot easier and we'll be able to push them more often this way!
The dev blog should come up some time next week, I can't really tell how often I'll post on there but I'd like to use it for update notes and occasional posts about future plans and general development stuff.
i had a dream that greed mode had an easter egg that went like this: if you used dad's key during the boss phase and got out, you were killed instantly and respawned in the normal mode, on whatever floor you were in the greed mode at the time :v: I thought that was cool
seems like the game decided I have suffered enough because it gave me piggy bank at the hush shop and a swallowed penny as a drop in the void when I was playing the keeper

I tried to download a platinum Rebirth save to play Antibirth with, since all my progress is on Afterbirth. Apparently it triggered all the Steam unlock achievements I didn't have.
whoopsies
So I've tried Greedier mode around 100-ish times now... Mostly as Isaac.
I've gotten up to Ultra Greed maybe 5 times.
I've beaten his first form twice.
And I'm yet to even come close to beating his second form.
Has anybody here actually beaten this mode yet? I'm genuinely curious.
I'm trying to beat Geedier with ??? but keep failing, beat it keeper and lost just fine.
Might need to reconsider your strategies if you've had 100 attempts in a row as Isaac! You have unlocked the D6, right? What sort of items are you taking/re-rolling? Going for devil deals and maximising your money each wave?

I have Real Platinum God, so yes, I have the d6.
In terms of items, I try to prioritise damage and fire rate, followed by damage mitigation. I also always go for the Devil/Angel rooms and usually go for the sacrifice room if possible.
My biggest issue is the early game. I tend to get overwhelmed by the huge numbers of champion mobs and difficult alternate enemies (mini-monstro, mushrooms, ect...) without the damage or defence to compensate. And not getting the full 15 coins at the end of the enemies wave leaves me even worse off.
The two instances where I did get to and beat ultra greed's first form were both very high damage/health runs. But fighting his first form tends to leave me fairly low hp for the final stage, and his constant barrage of attacks makes what remains of my health vanish like dust in the wind.
The furthest I got was a quarter of his hp.
Right after I made my post I thought I'd jump on and have a go at Greedier with Isaac... and I noticed I hadn't even done it yet! You'll be pleased to know I got it in one go ;)
First few floors are a bit of a slow burn and I feel it's the time to make trade-offs as you have the best chance of surviving and having them pay off... I gave up my hearts on the first floor on a devil deal with the long term goal of getting the Guppy transformation, and stupidly wasted my cash on PHD which did not pay off at all. 2nd and 3rd floors were a bit of a nightmare, completing both with only 1 heart at a time, burned up a couple of Guppy's 9 lives. Ended up buying Chaos and ending up with Tech 2, God Head, and paid cash for my Guppy transformation.
Went in with I think 3 red hearts and 3 soul hearts, finished with 2 reds intact after taking repeated stupid damage with only 1/4 of his health to go. Got a bit tense at the end.
I just realised how dumb I was - by buying PHD it cost me a chance to get Host Hat... that would have made it a bit easier!!
:snip: - decided to go with second choice in the end
I still don't really have any complaints about Greedier mode. It just takes the annoying parts of Greed mode and makes them a little more annoying.
The biggest difference is that in Greed mode I can often make it pretty far before an awful build catches up with me. In Greedier I find that the earlier floors are often the hardest (mainly because of champions) and if I make it to Ultra Greed I usually win. In that sense I actually prefer it over normal Greed because failed runs are shorter.
[editline]26th January 2017[/editline]
Well, my only complaints with Greedier is that I think some of the wave enemy choices make no sense.
Like double Scolex can be both a boss wave (reasonable) and a devil room wave (easy peasy). Double champion Rag Man can be a basement devil room wave (nearly impossible) or a cave devil room wave (reasonable).
Ultra greed fight is actaully as easy, if not easier then the main fight. His patterns are super simple, if you have enough dps to kill his bomb coins and enough speed to run from him then he isn't a problem.
Coming from a person who sucks at dodging.. Hell, I even beat him with a keeper run that didn't have shallowed penny nor any cheese. Only great dps(marked helped alot by making me focus on dodging).
Basic gameplan for the second phase is basically stand outside the area where the lasers will come, dodge diagonally when greed jumps and dodge the coins. The bomb coins should be destroyed around you. And just keep dodging
Also easy way to break greedier mode is getting 2 of diamonds + blank card, infinite items. Greedier mode is actually fine imo
Man I must just be getting the shittiest luck, then, because I've just fought him twice in a row (as Cain, sick of maybe being able to get a key as Isaac to get the second treasure room before the wave starts) and I swear to god I'm missing something here.
It seems like the same thing happens every time I play Greedier mode, one of two situations pan out:
Situation 1) I get shitty items in the start wave and get overwhelmed by the basement-level enemies because I can't kill them fast enough and by the end of the wave I get blasted to bits by a room full of projectiles and creep.
Situation 2) I get good items at the start and blaze through the levels right to Ultra Greed, I manage to beat Ultra Greed's first form without much hassle, but get destroyed by his second phase while getting him to a quarter HP. It is always a quarter, I have never gotten him past that.
Is there some secret to this fight that I'm just not getting, or something? It seems to me that most of his attacks are rampant bullshit that have been taken from every single other bullshit boss fight in the series. Constantly jumping away so I can't hit him only to land on me while I'm busy dodging his exploding coins and brimstone. Brimstone gates with zero telegraphing that turn on when you pass them because no reason. So much explosive spam that you are literally forced to pass by said maybe-they-will-maybe-they-won't brimstone gates and a constant barrage of projectiles that are the same colour as the boss, the brimstone attacks, the bombs, the explosions, and increasingly, the fucking floor which is now coated in yellow coin debris.
And it doesn't seem to matter how much goddamn DPS I have, I clear rooms and normal bosses within seconds, and phase 1 goes down within less than a minute. But I only ever seem to deal scratch damage to phase 2, no matter my damage, fire rate or any aux effects I've got going.
I beat Mega Satan with the lost before they gave him spectral tears and the holy mantle. What am I apparently missing about this big golden bastard!?
stay far away from him. dodging his coin shots doesn't mean anything if they explode on you anyway. brimstone lasers only happen when he smashes the ground, at the start, or when he's very low on health.
honestly, it's just distance. a lot of it. I still don't like fighting him, but if I'm shooting him off screen, there's not as much of a problem as there was when I was fighting him close.
alternatively, one of the hanging shopkeepers drops a sticky nickle and he stands there like a moron for a good chunk of the fight trying to pick it up

Your goal is to get to the bastard with:
* Damage (enough to clear minions)
* Piercing
* Range
* Orbitals (optional, but definitely worth going for)
From this, you make sure to keep yourself at least one room length away from him, avoiding standing where the doors shoot out brim. When he jumps, move to another place to stand. Keep firing. So far this strat let me kill him with everyone but lost and keeper.
I'll give it another try when I'm not so delirious from lack of sleep. But I appreciate the advice. Not sure how I'm supposed to keep distance on him when he jumps across the room at me every half second and fills the entire room with massive explosives every other half second, but I'll give it a shot.
It'd help if I wasn't getting such crap items all the time, too. Best combo I got was fairly high fire rate spectral tears. No orbitals or damage shields, and not a huge amount of health either, with fairly boring aux effects. I haven't had a proper "crazy" run (think Brimstone + Monstro's Lung + Tammy's Head + 9-Volt) since Afterbirth+ came out.
I have to say it is really fucking hard so I don't blame you for losing a lot, because I do the same. Like I said before, I had Mom's Knife and really good damage and I still barely beat Greedier. I feel like there's a lot of luck involved.
If I may rant, I'm getting really annoyed by Sister Vis in Greedier with the Lost. Every single time I die to them and it feels like bullshit because they just rolled from off screen or brimstone off screen as well. I'm so irritated.
[editline]really[/editline]
Okay boss armor is fucking ridiculous. I had rapid fire 50 damage tears with guppy flies and I still fucking died because his HP went down like centimeters at a time. I had no bombs to do the armor adjustment trick so yeah. That was really painful and stupid. I really really hate boss armor.
I just spent like 30 seconds carefully guiding one of those rock throwing ghosts over to the one tinted rock that was between like 10 normal rocks so I could possibly get a much needed soul heart. I finally get him to pick it up only to have the fucker smile and then fly out of the room with it, causing all the doors to open.
the fucking rock throwing ghosts steal tinted rocks oh my godddd

I've also recently discovered that Hornfel will run out one of the boss doors if you don't kill him quickly after destroying his mine cart.

I found this exact thing out a week ago and my god it was one of those moments that I simultaniously loved and despised about Antibirth.
That is an annoying feature done right. It's the kind of thing that sucks big time, but is hilarious enough to get away with it.
EDIT: Finally managed to beat Greedier as Isaac, and it was only due to my severely broken build:
10 damage triple-shot burning scythes with Little Horn effect, 6 hearts and the gimpy effect (so I was getting a lot of half-heart drops) and two fly spawning minions as well as the rune bag which gave me a bunch of Jera runes on the final two floors.
Only managed to beat phase 2 because I had a lot of excess health lying around. If it hadn't been for that I'd have died twice over. I still think the fight is far too stacked against the majority of plausible combinations.
