WiP.
I clearly don't get the reference so my first thought was "no fun police?" :v:
Real Platinum God after 101 hours.
Got really lucky and basically found one item I was missing every run.
I clearly don't get the reference so my first thought was "no fun police?" :v:
I was thinking it was a reference to the Jersey Devil.
Also, here's a question to anyone who has made music mods: Do you get this issue where some sounds wouldn't play while the custom music is playing? (i.e. Sometimes when you fire your brimstone, the sound effect doesn't play) If so, is there a fix for it?
Edit: Music pack I'm working on:

Well for starters, having the Basement have the Village tune doesn't seem right. If anything it should be Fearless Challenger. Secondly, I dunno if La-Mulana's soundtrack, despite being fucking awesome, is an appropriate soundtrack for The Binding of Isaac. If you did a full reskin of all the backgrounds, items and enemies, that'd work. You wouldn't need to change Isaac completely into Lemeza though, just give him the iconic outfit and the hat.
An interesting effort, but I'm not so sure about it.

I'm hoping to at least get into graphical modding to make the soundtrack more appropriate. (Although, that's going to be a lot easier said than done, I'm terrible with art :v: )
Also, I was originally going to use the Fearless Challenger for the Basement, but then having listened to it...

There's something so grand about the opening to the music that makes it feel more appropriate for The Chest, instead. Although, there is the shorter version, and it is one of the starting music (so it would make more sense).
But that opening, man
Oh yeah, and that sound bug. I'm hoping it's just a thing that happens with every other custom music, or I'm going to feel confused...

Holy shit, I was just working on a music pack for Isaac that replaced it with the La-Mulana music, talk about a coincidence.
I sorta finished it too, replaced all the tracks. Except some of the tracks I weren't too sure they were the most fitting.
Also I got no problem with Brimstone for me, despite this.
I really despise mom's hands. Their only cue that they're coming is a laugh and a shadow below Isaac. Certainly doesn't help for a friend with hearing loss i've shown the game.

I tend to play without sound in bright rooms, so there might as well not be any cue for mom's hands. Without exception, I end up having to redo every room that has them.
just had the most op run I've ever had to finish my eden card, I started with sacred heart, got mom's knife in the basement 2 devil room, and got dark bum in one of the caves
seed was EYEN 17K6

I find that if I've killed everything, but the doors don't open it's usually Mom's Hands and so I just run in a circle until they appear.
I wonder what happens to the creature you capture when the room is over. I guess it either dies or turns on you. A shame you probably can't recapture it.

"i felt like charm effects were one of the more interesting additions to rebirth so i wanted to use them a bit more in afterbirth."
"it fight along side you for the duration of the room! "
yeah, and now that's why we want an ACTUAL co-op gamemode, other than a simple baby.
Seriously, it's not ultra hard to code, since the AI can already target more than 1 enemy (see scape goat), adn there would just be some items that would need a slight editing.
I keep dreaming of treasure rooms with 2 items, and each player would choose what item synergize the best with his current stats.
Nicalis, if you hear me, please make this a thing and you'll make me one of the happiest man in the world. ♥
Well now I'm even more hyped. Also the mention of a new gamemode (potentially adding +100 hours to the game) has me interested, what could it possibly be?
Bowling
Personally I'd be interested in a sort of "adventure mode" wherein it plays like Link to the Past with an overworld and various dungeon areas, except set in Hell.
Oh come on, you know you'd want to play the hell out of that.

Cool, but, uh, what about Mew-Genics?
mewgenics has been on the backburner for a while, dude
i think they wanted to focus on isaac and the new meat boy game
Cool, but, uh, what about Mew-Genics?
Well Nicalis isn't deceloping mewgenics, so this doesn't effect the development of mewgenics (which is on pause anyways)
A couple things I noticed about the friend ball:
1. There's no visual indication that the ball is empty or not. HUD elements changing appearance based on stored charges has been done before (Breath of Life, Jar, etc), so there's little excuse for this.
2. The ball seems to require being picked up once it catches something. If the ball persists in the room like any other consumable, it could be feasible to stack up some tough enemies and then go to town with the battery to take out some tough rooms while you hide in a corner.
3. The ball has no pickup animation, it just vanishes. Contrast with the bomb he picks up not even half a second later. It's clearly unfinished, but it irked me.
4. As with Bob's Rotten Head, the two candles, Boomerang, you can move around before tossing the Ball. The charge isn't drained until the ball leaves Isaac's hands, so you could probably put it away if you would rather save it.
5. The ball's charge is lost immediately on throw, if you miss: too bad. Seems to require direct contact while the ball is airborne. Haven't seen enough, it'd be too easy if it could snare an enemy by sitting still on the ground, though. Although offering a recharge for picking up an empty ball could be feasible, it does seem too easy to let a player chuck an instakill item around without penalty for missing.
6. Throwing arc for empty/full ball is different. For a capture the range is a short lob that barely goes 2 tiles. A full ball has a range about half a room width (about 4 times as far).
7. Spawning enemies seem to telefrag any enemy on top of the ball. Although that Maw may have just been really low health when the ball was thrown. Ball itself does not do contact damage.
8. As throwables inherit tear effects, have fun with Rubber Cement friend balls.
As a side note, I'm betting that Ed's face will be in the game as a seed code. Maybe MCM1 LLEN or something.

I redeemed my cool Facepunch baby -- how do I go about uploading mods? Can I at all, since the site's in beta?
EDIT: I found the button. You have to pull up the menu in the lower right. :/
I'll link 'em up when I make 'em.
