So, I bought Rebirth on the New 3DS XL, and jesus christ it likes to crash a lot. It's the first 3DS game I've ever had that crashed on me, and it seems to do it pretty consistently too right around the time I get to Mom or Mom's Heart. Of course if it crashes I restart at the beginning of the floor, which isn't too bad but sometimes you end up not having the same luck with enemies/items and it screws you over. Otherwise the game runs okay, some lag when explosions happen, map on the bottom screen is nice and you can draw on it if you ever needed to, but the c-stick isn't worth using since it's a nub and often you'll end up trying to shoot up or down and it won't work since the nub isn't moving far enough. There's no 3D effect which is a bummer but I doubt it'd look nice anyways and would be a huge performance hog. Having Issac on the go is great but hopefully they fix all this crashing nonsense.
I just got the Golden God achievement in the original game. The thing is I didn't get 3 of the achievements* from the non DLC portion of the game and I also didn't find one of the items ("The common Cold") from the non DLC half, but I still got the Golden god. Anyone know why? * "The Common Cold", "Dark Boy", and "Mama's Boy"

So me and a friend were discussing ways to make Isaac even more depressing end-wise and I came up with an ending of my own. Isaac decides not to stay inside of his box any longer and runs away from home, losing himself inside the forest near his house. Even then, his inner demons still chase him into the woods, him being unsure of whether or not running is the right choice to make. After some intense fights, Isaac finally defeats -insert awesome final boss here- and decides that running away and starting a new life is truly the right choice for both him and his Mother. Isaac begins to step towards his new goals in life when suddenly a bright light engulfs him followed by the screeching of tires. The scene switches to Mom, kneeling next to her broken child, Isaac who she had been chasing down in a panic after seeing him gone. The car door opens and the owner steps out, revealing it to be Isaac's Father complete with a bouquet of roses, hoping to patch up the relationship he had with his son and his wife. And then everything goes dark.

Video analyzing time? I'll spoiler everything just in case: [sp] Afterbirth has subtitles New title screen and background Daily Seeds. They have two leaderboards: one for time and one for raw score. You can replay a daily seed after playing it, but your score only gets ranked one time. There is a HUD icon to tell players that they're on the daily, similar to hard mode. Dailies force you to play as a certain character. Cobalt is forced as Cain in this one. There's a scrawled picture of the daily character beside the daily menu. Additionally you can play as locked characters by doing the daily. New basement enemy: He pops out of the ground and creates a ground explosion on the spot. Then spits toxic explosives in your direction. Boss doors have a red glow in their eyes now, just a visual change. Double-boss rooms. Not double-trouble where it's 2 of the same boss. Cobalt fights a Larry Jr. and Pin at the same time. New boss item: Crack Jack -- Don't swallow the prize. It provides a trinket on pickup. Poker Chip -- It's double-down time! Difficult to tell what it does, as Cobalt drops it in favor of Curved Horn. Updated art on level transitions. Burning Basement gets showcased. Shit's on fire, yo. New item: The Wiz -- Double wiz shot. It's 20-20 but with permanent wizard action. New devil item: Athame -- Call to the void. Summons a black ring of brimstone around yourself when damaged. When damaged, you also have a slight chance of spawning a Black heart. New enemy: Double-headed fatty. He sends a green line of ooze along the floor similar to super sloth. New enemy: Black leeches. They explode into 4 tears on-death in an X pattern. Fetus in a Jar does not synergize with The Wiz. Item rooms can sometimes spawn with the pedestal surrounded by rocks and spikes. 200+ more co-op babies. "Secrets related to the babies" Not going to be happy if that's required for 100% New enemy: Black skulls. Like the white skulls, but they actually take damage. New enemy: Gray Globins. When they die they leave a black pool of ooze. Can't really tell if it's slowing or damaging, as Cobalt makes a point to not step in it. New boss variant: Pink Cage. It's 2 Cages, similar to double-Monstro. Cobalt fights Pink Cage in a double-trouble room, prompting a fight with 4 Cages. Daily scoring breakdown: Points for clearing a stage, exploration, and "Swag." Penalty for damage taken, time elapsed, and items collected. Time submissions do not count if you do not complete the game. Score submissions are submitted regardless, as a death even on room 1 has a score associated to it. Lilith is unlocked by default in this build. Presumably so people don't try to find her unlock method just yet. Greed mode is separate from Hard mode. No Hard Greed Mode, sadly. New enemy: Yellow Flies. They fly at you, a little more aggressive than red flies, but their pattern is more swoopy. We get to see an item room that presents 2 items, but you are only permitted one of them, similar to Boss Rush. Only 1 of the item rooms in greed mode is open, the other is locked. Greed mode is seeded. The shopkeeps will talk to you in Greed mode. "Come back for more" Rag Man in action. Takes his head off and rolls it, once it comes to a stop it becomes a Ragling and he grows another head. When his body has no head, it will wander around aimlessly and fire homing tears periodically in a random direction. Use items treat finishing a wave as 1 charge. There are 10 waves in a floor. As denoted by an x/10 icon. The final waves will be bosses. Once on the final wave, the button with spikes will retract as there is no more to spawn. When the final wave is cleared, the button pops back up to be pressed again, although at that point you may be wanting to use the exit so you can get deeper into the game.[/sp] I think I got everything.

Got the game on 3DS. Brief summary of my first three runs: > Playing Isaac, dead cat in curse room on first floor, chocolate milk in item room, polyphemus in next floor's item room, three guppy items from red chests in devil deal, beat the run as guppy with huge charge tears > Changed to Azazel after unlocking him, tammy's head in first item room, blood of the martyr on second floor, dark bum and whore of babylon from devil deal, item martyr in shop, beat everything in one button press > Stayed Azazel, inner eye in first item room, guppy's collar from curse room, three health up pills behind rocks, dark bum and dead cat / guppy's tail from second floor devil deal, tammy's head AGAIN in third floor item room, became pretty much invincible even before I found the wafer in sheol My luck is going to horribly crumble later isn't it? [editline]t[/editline] And then I get magic mushroom, brimstone and spoon bender on Cain. WHAT.
I can't even find the 1up mushroom. It's one of the items I'm missing. So many hours played without seeing it...
Another thing from the PAX stream that I didn't mention Seeds are visible when you're at the death screen.
Just updated the N3DS version to 1.051. Decided to test on a new file if the Epilogue would unlock. I get to Basement 2 with Tech 1, Lil Haunt, and Pulse Worm and the game crashes. 1:45 minutes of gameplay and it crashed on a brand new file. This is ridiculous already. I'm extremely disappointed with Nicalis right now.

[quote] Greed Waves greed modes main game is fighting off waves of randomly chosen sets of enemies that spawn around the room. these waves ramp in difficulty and continue to stack on top of one another till you hit wave 8, press the stop button or die. the more waves you string together without hitting the stop button the higher the cash bonus and if you are able to do it without taking damage there is another bonus in it for you. after wave 8 you get a breather to cash in your winnings and the button mysteriously changes to a skull! pressing said skull will start the “boss waves” an easy wave (on par with a basic boss from that chapter)and a med wave (usually an easy level boss with a small mob). you get a lot more time to kill these waves, but depending on how fast you are there is a high chance that the second boss will spawn in along side the first… but you can always sacrifice half a heart to stop the next wave from spawning if things are looking dire. once these boss waves are finished, the exit door will unbar and you will be able to progress to the next level… or you can take a chance with the “nightmare boss wave” in order to unlock the devil room door. but get this… every single room in greed mode is 100% new, cursed rooms yield totally new surprises, secret rooms have bigger pay offs and the content of devil rooms aren’t exactly what you are use to.. in fact all the pools in greed mode are totally new and have been heavily modded to fit greed mode perfectly. all in all greed mode will feel like a totally new experience that will not only yield tons of rewards for completing it with each character.. but also features a very unique ending that should have you coming back for more for quite a while.[/quote] He also at least confirms it'll at least be out before christmas, tho
