It's Monday again but this week it's kinda bollocks No helpful info on release yet. He goes into some details on Greed Mode. 8 waves of enemies. You get more money if you go more waves without pressing the button. Then a mandatory breather. Then 2 boss waves. These have a much longer timer than the mook waves. Then an optional nightmare-boss wave in order to access the devil room. All item pools are different in Greed Mode. As are the special rooms that we're used to, such as cursed rooms and devil rooms. There's an item room with a platinum lining instead of gold. He doesn't elaborate on the details. My suspicion is that it's a change that happens when voluntarily opting out of taking the items, as he has not explored the room at the time of the screenshots.

The silver door is the one that's unlocked by default, so I'm guessing it has a worse item pool than the locked golden one.
Just updated the N3DS version to 1.051. Decided to test on a new file if the Epilogue would unlock. I get to Basement 2 with Tech 1, Lil Haunt, and Pulse Worm and the game crashes. 1:45 minutes of gameplay and it crashed on a brand new file. This is ridiculous already. I'm extremely disappointed with Nicalis right now.
I just downloaded the game as-is, should I not install any updates? [editline]t[/editline] Why the funny, postal? This is a serious question, I'm hearing the updates only make the problems the 3DS version has worse, so I want to know if I should keep it vanilla until they're entirely ironed out.
it's probably the door you get for the 'special' item rooms edmund talked about before that have multiple items in them (where I think you pick the one you want?), since I recall in the Pax video Cobalt only getting one item from the gold door item room
Now why would Ed be so nice as to give you a clear notice that says "Hey, spend 1 key and get 2 items." In the PAX video, Cobalt gets that dickish item room that required he bomb the rocks or walk on spikes, there was no warning, it just happened. No, there's something else going on that's special regarding the room. Something special that the player puts in motion and not something handed to them on a silver plate. Also the existence of item rooms that demand bombs to access the item just further pushes bombs away from being fun combat tools. Now there's an even bigger incentive to horde your bombs. Finding secret rooms, blowing up machines and beggars, accessing items behind rocks, breaking X-marked rocks, breaking mushrooms/skulls/pots/etc, accessing items in the item room, controlled self-damage, blasting consumables out of spiketraps, and more. There's just far more utility to bombs than there are optimal uses for them in combat. Sure they speed things up a bit, but you could totally just do that with your tears instead and find a better use for those things.
Mcmuffin better deliver next week or I'm rioting.
I feel like stabbing myself every time a new blog starts with "I'll start off with letting everybody down".
Had no idea you could get past stage 2 cube of meat, never saw anyone do it in a video Man it looks dumpy

This might sound Dumb but I really really don't like Cobalt. Is there any other footage of Afterbirth from Pax?
Which one was cobalt? The only person I've ever watched when it comes to Binding of Isaac is Northernlion.
Which one was cobalt? The only person I've ever watched when it comes to Binding of Isaac is Northernlion.
Kind of surprised he wasn't at PAX.
Kind of surprised he wasn't at PAX.
He was, just not during the Isaac stream timeslot. [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CNiYQqCUsAA7D9C.jpg[/t] A lot of the popular players met up with Tyrone.
Decided to have some fun with the Monster Manual :v: [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/425942982841598460/B6D1A7DAD1990281ECC4D20E6BF35BD53DFBF1F3/[/t] And by "fun" I mean "I scummed for the level 4 bandage girl because I was tired of Mr. Fred ruining everything."
I've gotten into a habit of just restarting the run if dingle is the first boss because for whatever reason, I can't deal with that thing consistently unless my speed is four pegs or higher (which it almost never is on the first floor) There has to be a way to really easily exploit it but I'm just dumb and bad at the game

Simply dodge the shots. Personally I would ignore the mini shits, but if you feel the need to kill them then do it quickly. [t]http://i.imgur.com/s9rGXzK.jpg[/t] he'll surprise shoot. Same as above. [t]http://i.imgur.com/w6HNut1.jpg[/t] - he's going to dash 3 times. He dashes in at the same rhythm each time, so get use to it and dodge him each time he goes in. The best way to dodge his dashes is to run either to the left or right of his dash, that will completely put Dingle off target. Once he finishes the last 3rd dash, go ham and shoot the fucker since he'll take awhile to catch his breath. If you get the hang of those 3 patterns and how to recognize them quickly, Dingle is one of the easiest bosses to deal with early on.
I just had an amazing hyper-damage run as Judas (ludo, coal, magic mushroom + pentagram, money is power + dollar), and I lost it because I clipped a single pixel of the hitbox of a devil deal item I didn't want when trying to grab the black hearts next to it. Died in sheol the exact moment I cleared a room. That heart getting taken away cost me that whole run. God DAMMIT. [editline]t[/editline] I am so fucking salty but it's the kind of salt where you want to beat it just to teach it a lesson By the way, have a soy milk / libra seed I managed to get right after: 0F8JE7AM

Things I've very quickly learned to despise after only ten runs: Enemies with dash attacks in small or cluttered rooms Anything that moves quickly when playing as Maggie Two or more walking grey skulls in a small room, covering eachother's pattern Head-bursters who instantly shoot their head at you after the room transition That one 2x2 room which just has a tiny bit of ground in one corner, and you have to kill 10 bats That one room where you have to time both turrets and spikes to pass; it's fine one way, but the other you HAVE to take damage if your speed is too low
I was tired of Mr. Fred ruining everything.
Get to third level meat boy/bandage girl Womb 1 It's not a big room boss fight [sp]It's Conquest[/sp]

That's so much nicer than they currently are, and IMO it would be a waste to have them exclusive to just the 3DS
FYI tyrone appears to be streaming afterbirth right now http://www.twitch.tv/tyronerodriguez [editline]2nd September 2015[/editline] oh it's over, nevermind maybe it'll go up on VoD
Trying to unlock the D6 feels like beating my head against a wall. I know there are a bunch of things I could find to make the run to isaac super easy but I haven't found even one of them. Abaddon and dark bum, gnawed leaf and damaging orbiter, brimstone and ludo, shielded and ludo, holy mantle and wafer... But the game would rather give me shoop da whoop six times in a row. :why:

Why even stream it in the first place then?
tbh Ed should bring back 12% opacity streams again (I don't remember what % it was but it was low)
YOOOOOOOO I FUCKING DID IT PRAISE DARK BUM :excited:
Man, I forgot what a great game this is. I got the 3DS version since I mostly play when I'm out of the house, but I do have the Pc versions, I kinda wish they left an option for the Danny Baranowsky Soundtrack be used in Rebirth since they're very memorable, but that's just me. Still trying to kill Mom for the first time in the 3DS, I keep getting some horrid items since I'm not familiar what they do (fuck you Tiny Planet with your orbiting projectiles).
