well that's rather disappointing lol. a floor alt for the womb, called [sp]rotting[/sp], was in the process of being designed by the artist they hired off reddit when they ran out of time by a few days. so they literally just desaturated the existing one for the final product

it was nicalis' choice at the time because of time constraint - something that is an issue: deadlines and release dates and stuff! aaaagh.

my floor design didn't make the cut, because well, i like to take my time with my art. ive always thought you can't rush art, but in the end, they had something to back it up if my design wasn't ready. their choice was a brown womb with blood trickling down the walls, which i thought was a nice touch haha.

this was my end product, finished days after the afterbirth screenshots went live. as of now it's collecting dust in my files, but oh well, i had fun making it anyway :)

I actually thought it was just the caves from when that image came out too

The image Sagittarius linked can be put in the game almost completely unmodified, it just appears to be slightly compressed(?) and the bones at the ends don't transition into the outside layer.

Modding it in should be super easy if she doesn't do it herself. Really just a job of fixing the bones and changing the door colors.
That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if it was shipped with Kilburn's mod seeing as Sagittarius is an artist for it.

I wish there was a mode or something that would guarantee a special item or a huge stat boost on the first floor.

Had far too many runs that were vanilla front to back with no interesting synergies or anything.

They should just add it into PC, it's not like they're the type to chew off their own fingers if all versions aren't synchronized perfectly

Though I generally wouldn't suggest this but...If all else fails you could always mod The Lost and beat it that way. Pretty sure achievements are still unlockable with mods. But before even thinking of doing that really do try beating it without modding. You'll feel better about it if you do probably :v:

I'll try to do it fair and without mods, but man it can be tricky.
I once had Guppy as the Lost and got completely fucked over by the Bloat, that really got me down from playing him ever since.

I was on my run in getting lost and he was okay in power, when I get to mom I let myself get stomped at, mom dies instantly. I briefly looked through my powerups and nothing showed up having contact damage, I didn't check twice because I just closed the game.

The Lost really should start with holy mantle or multiple lives. There's no reason to continue a run with him unless you get those things pretty much right away.

Either that or give him a modified version of the breath of life that can simply be used for up to one second of invincibility per room, without the warmup mechanic. With that, if you run into something you literally can't avoid, it won't be the end of the whole run as long as you can use it at the right time.

To be fair there are rooms that are almost impossible to do with Lost if you don't have the right items.
Caves/Catacombs are fucking hell.

I understand he's supposed to be difficult, and I see what they were going for with the concept, but it just doesn't work very well in a game where everything is random.

Heck, the patterns of numerous enemies seem to be tied to the roll of a dice, moving a random distance in a random direction at a random speed, or ones that can teleport right into you with no tell. The best Lost runs are ones where you don't encounter them, and by that point you're relying on RNG anyway.

The way I see it, either make the character more reasonable to play, or tie all his unlocks to something else.

Even no-seed speedrunners - the people who you'd think would know the most about not getting hit - still average about six or seven hits a run unless they play Azazel. There's a reason so few of them bother with nerf characters like Lost and blue baby, skill alone sometimes just doesn't help you.
