The Binding of Isaac series. GOT A QUESTION? USE THE WIKI: http://bindingofisaacrebirth.gamepedia.co

Y'know, while going through an insane Judas run augmented by a D4 giving me a sick high fire-rate high damage build, I noticed that when sped up and pitch-shifted through using Taurus or My Little Unicorn, the theme to the Dark Room seems strangely "Eastern". As in kinda like the beginning part of the Aladdin introductory theme, with similar drums and what I think is some kind of sitar twang.
I kinda like it in that sped-up version, feels quite listenable. Almost like something you'd hear in Act 2 of Diablo or some sort of mystical harem. Also if you're looking for the track on YouTube, apparently it's called Devoid. Strangely enough, when played that certain way it makes things feel anything BUT devoid, like Isaac just walked into a shisha den.
Someone needs to get that altered version of the theme up on YouTube.
Oh, and speaking of Isaac music on YouTube, who could forget this classic mash-up based on the original themes for the Cathedral and Sheol.

I hadn't played the old Binding of Isaac, but I think I like the Cathedral music better than the stuff they have now.
That said, the new Sheol theme definitely blows the old one outta the water.

Also I don't know why, but the vocalist reminds me of Michael Jackson.

..how?
Remember how Ed mentioned how he was considering having all characters have permanent upgrades similar to Isaac's D6? What hypotheticals do you think would work out for the roster without creating imbalance.
Here's my take on it:
Isaac - D6 duh
Maggie - Maggie's Bow. As it is now, the instant you trade the Yum Heart away is the same time that you lose what makes the character stand out from the others lategame.
Cain - I dunno. I wanna say Sack of Pennies but I also like Paper Clip. He is the self-described "thief" class after all.
Judas - Judas' Tongue. He's already really good so having a trinket that orients around the devil goes with his style without changing too much.
??? - I dunno. Relic and Book of Revelations are a bit strong to put on him from the get-go.
Samson - Samson's Lock. Emulating OG Samson without removing the buffs he's gotten.
Eve - Dunno. Eve's Bird Foot?
Lazarus - Suicide King would be a bit too good for him starting out. Dunno
Azazel - Good joke.
The Lost - Godhead. I don't care if it'd be overpowered, if you manage to unlock it you deserve to have the character not be a means of slowly killing your desire to have fun.
Eden - +1 item when spawning. No real specifics, just more stuff.

Honestly I think it would take a lot more than godhead to elevate the lost out of that territory
Can curse of the maze be removed from the game?
I shouldn't have to go trought the same room over and over and over 10 times in a row. I'm not even kidding.

Do you ever get any good runs in this game? You should probably post about those too, I think that'd be a refreshing change.

Curse of the maze is, like, the least annoying of the curses. Heck, I'm pretty sure you can even get into locked rooms with ti.

Not necessarily into locked rooms. It instead has the chance to have you exit a locked room, which puts you in the next room over with the door unlocked.
However, it makes curse rooms into a pain in the dick, because you can walk into one, take damage, and then not actually go into it.

You're right i should stop ranting here.
So here's one. Fully powered Quad shot Ipecac feels so good.
I just need to hunt down 7 more items, and I'll be a real platinum god. and a real hero.
Sadly, 2 of them only appear in secret rooms, and one of them only appears in angel rooms. So I can't just reroll until I've got them.
I recently had the displeasure of ruining a Polyphemus, Death's Touch, Lump of Coal, Eyeshadow, Parasite, and Ludovico Technique run by picking up Dr. Fetus without thinking on The Chest. I have no one to blame but myself.
I ruined a run by picking up soy milk.
fuck
I ruined a run by not picking up Holy Mantle on the chest. This was followed by many bullshit snipes and eventual death when I thought I could kill Mega Satan with a Gnawed Leaf and a Meat Cube. I didn't have the patience for it and eventually just died.
I ruined a run by picking up Tiny Planet and Dr. Fetus at chest
I don't know why i even did it...
I just felt like i didn't care about run anymore
And that's how i screwed up Eve's run :tinfoil:
Is it wrong that, whenever I pick up the Champion Belt, I'm all like "oh YEEAAH BROTHER!" a'la Randy Savage and/or Hulk Hogan? I don't think so, I think it's entirely justified.
"IT'S ME ISAAC! IT WAS ME, ALL ALONG ISAAC!"
"AND NOW ISAAC, ISAAC NOW YOU KNOW. THERE IS NO PRICE I WILL NOT PAY, THERE IS NO DEPTH (to which) I WILL NOT STOOP, TO MAKE YOUR LIFE, HERE IN THE BASEMENT ISAAC, A TOTAL, COMPLETE, LIVING, HELL!"
Which is kinda how the game feels sometimes. Complete with Vince McMahon making fools of us all.
I ruined a run by picking up soy milk.
fuck
Pretty much every time I got Soy Milk, I got something like Guppy or Dead Onion to make it a worthwhile pick up.
Fucking hell, started an Eden run with 20/20 and Doctor's Remote, and the asshole ghost boss gets be with bullshit 1 damage untelegraphed charge.
Generally the rule with The Haunt is that you don't go up to where it's going from side to side.

But if you don't you don't even get the chance to hit it half the time.
Seriously the fight drags on for way too long, it's just boring.
Still better than Peep at least, and don't even get me started on motherfucking bloated.
bloat ended a very high HP maggy run for me because i had curse of the unknown and couldnt tell how much damage i had taken
Currently doing a rather interesting run which I call "Laszarandom", since I've been rocking the D4 with this character and changing quite often. Initial iterations included a "Sickly Ingrid" with Common Cold, 20/20 and the spidery wig item, and right now I seem to be a Saggitarian with Cricket's Body and a 3 Dollar Bill.
I'm excited to see what new iterations the D4 will bring me, considering how well I've done so far.
Update: Well, after being scared by a Magnetic Tears-based iteration, I rerolled into what I call the "Beverly Hills Daughter", wherein my weak-ass tears revolve around me, Daddy Longlegs stomps out all my problems and protects me with Virgo. Ultimately unwieldy, but here's to a new iteration.
Aaaand Lord of the Flies with creep tears and Cursed Eye. Yep, probably rerolling that at my next convenience... Into Proptosis Monstro. Yeah I can deal with this.
A few poor rerolls and a misjudgement of Laszarus' functionality later, I'm fucking dead in Sheol before I even reached Satan. Well, c'est la mort, que sera sera.
No doubt a dumb question, but here goes:
I haven't unlocked any new items/bosses in quite a while. Is this because I'm just terrible at the game (I haven't even got all the endings yet...) or because I need to do something special?
Ah I remember when I unlocked the cellar. I thought beating Gemini with tiny twin first was my way to fully experiencing the game.
I regret it all because the cellar is fucking gay and I wish I could go back to 2 levels of basement.

Well, you unlock items a lot closer together in the beginning of the game. That slows down a lot as things progress. Eventually you'll only be getting new items as you beat the game, beat challenges, and beat the boss rush with each character.

Do you keep playing as the same character? You should probably change things up a little, every character gets unique unlockables for beating post-Womb bosses.
Well I have mostly played as Isaac, though I have at least beat Mom's Heart with Magdalene. As for boss rush, what's the time limit? 20 minutes? 30?
20
Right. That will indeed be a challenge. I suppose there's one boss per character on both normal and hard difficulty?
