I usually don't cheat at this game but I really have no reservations about quick save+loading when I'm playing as Lost in greed mode and I keep fucking dying due to telefrags from spawning enemies. God that was so annoying lmao but I ended up wrecking ultra greed after that.
Greed mode is incredibly easy to cheese if you get an early explosive item. Just keep bombing the shop until you get something worth taking along for the ride. You can very easily nab Gnawed Leaf, Pinking Shears, and an assortment of other automated familiars this way.
I did the lost in greed mode by getting Unbreakable and GB bug, and only GB bug. It took me about 5 hours.

But it requires having a ton of bombs to do that. I'm all set now tho yeaaaaaa. now i just gotta kill hush and mega satan I'm betting next patch makes the shop refresher have a random chance to explode because it really is OP right now if you get something like Ipecap
Is it just my luck or does devil beggar only give caffeine pills now?
On OSX, the flooded cave floors are entirely black. I can't see holes in the floor. I just got gangbanged into a corner without knowing it was a dead end. Give me flight or I'll restart as soon as I see that godforsaken pisshole.
"Marked" has got to be one of the worst items in the game. It becomes literally impossible to control your shots properly. Bonus points when the floor's red like in the womb.
I thought homing and marked would make the crosshair home on enemies automatically. Would make a great synergy. Also wish brimstone and marked would be a constant firing laser. There's actually so much potential for synergies with Marked.
"Marked" has got to be one of the worst items in the game. It becomes literally impossible to control your shots properly. Bonus points when the floor's red like in the womb.
I can see no use in that piece of shit item. It's not one of the worst, it's the worst.
Well, the Guardian challenge I'm attempting now is impossible unless I get really lucky. Dead Cat and the guy keeps running directly under mom's foot stomps every time I enter the room. I should have kept that Bible v:v:v [editline]t[/editline] Well, killed mom on the last heart. Too bad the second room of the Womb slaughtered me :(
I don't really get how you're supposed to beat mom in the guardian challenge unless you just have a ton of hearts to tank the stomps. I got really lucky and found a level skip in a depths 2 secret room, so I didn't have to do that fight. I mean, is there ANY strategy to avoid her relentlessly stomping on the punching bag/heart? I can't even imagine how it would be if you happen to run into a red mom.
I tried the Guardian challenge once. The dummy ran into a red poop and instantly died from full health. Never played it again.
You know what would benefit the lost just by its existence? Not even as a direct buff to him, just by it being in the item room pool. An item that, when picked up, converts any future HP up item you get (breakfast, raw liver, etc) into all stats except HP up. You basically get the halo without the +1 HP for every new red heart you would've gotten, meaning that for the rest of that run, nothing is going to give you any more red health, but you're going to be getting much better stats in return. For every other character that would be a rather extreme risk especially if found early, but for the lost... there's no downside.

Maybe something pertaining to Lent? After all, that's one of the big fasting days in Christian mythology.
Lent just made me thing of another possibility for it... SOYLENT GREEN You... don't feel hungry anymore
Having 1 of the 2 Key Pieces should guarantee that the next reward room is an Angel Room. Since the expansion, I've had 10 different runs where a second Angel Room simply never spawned, the game just kept throwing Devil Rooms at me despite me not taking any of their items offered. I even used Joker cards and Goat Head to increase my chances of finding more to no avail. It's a real pissant to construct a build for taking on Mega Satan, and then never getting the opportunity to even go there despite doing things correctly. Of those 10 runs unfortunate runs, I typically would feel like the game is being disrespectful -- taking my time and effort to do something deliberate only to have it not offer what is promised in exchange. Hell, of those 10 runs, only 1 of them actually got to see Mega Satan thanks to a clutch D100 at the end turning an item into Dad's Key. Really, the thing I'd rather see is for Mega Satan's door to stay open once you open it once, but I know Ed won't do that because for some reason he feels the need to copy Spelunky despite Isaac not being Spelunky. Isaac is a game where unlocks are permanent for future runs. Special combinations I can understand being locked to that combination (such as the Guppy transformation), but not when the feature is an entire boss and associated unlocks. Similarly, I still think the Polaroid and Negative are fucking stupid. It kind of defeats the purpose of the "Bring him the photo" secret when the game literally hands it to you on every run. This too, would benefit from a "one and done" unlock requisite instead of trying to follow in the footsteps of Spelunky. The two photos offered also serve to make heart-less runs extremely easy in comparison -- ??? especially. Then of course there's the issue of the Negative and its route being fundamentally weaker in comparison to the Polaroid and its route. Who actively finds dealing damage to a room more helpful than being shielded when hurt? Layer onto that the offer of 4 item chests in the Chest compared to devil chests in the Dark Room that very well may contain nothing but mockery and shame. Dark Room not only fails to facilitate making a run stronger for some final-stretch nuttiness, but the item used to access the Dark Room pales in comparison to it's light-sided brother.

I remember one time I kept bombing it and eventually every shop item turned into a bomb for 5 cents. Can't remember if I was using actual bombs or explosive shots, though.
Goddamnit, doing the I RULE challenge, and stupidly took a trapdoor down in the chest, forgetting I didn't have the key anymore.
Something I just thought of: If edmund has been hinting at the moon, has anyone tried using the moon card on the bottom floor of greed mode?
Yeah I know "have a question use the wiki" but it isn't an answer, I'm looking for opinions. Having played little of Rebirth, only unlocking 74 achievements, is it worth it to buy afterbirth right now? Should I get "better" at it, like unlocking stuff etc?
Something I just thought of: If edmund has been hinting at the moon, has anyone tried using the moon card on the bottom floor of greed mode?
What about in the 30 minute room? Maybe there...

So... Patch tomorrow? I'm going crazy here, missing out on all the fun

Salt is white, white like the fury of scorned players.
It's pretty obvious that's meant to be ash. Salt is white, white like the fury of scorned players.
I'm just copypasting what people are saying on reddit, which is probably coming from the fact magic circles are generally drawn in salt (even tho yes it doesn't really look like it)
So, who's betting D7 will eventually get an additional room added to its charge time At this point you can pick it up, go redo an easy previous room a hundred times for a ton of resources, and then just put it back when you're done if you already had a spacebar item you liked
