who the fuck decided the greed machine could jam and what's their address
Did you pick up many items and/or start as the same character often?
Rumor has it that that causes the donation machine to jam early.

It's not a rumor, that's just how it's coded.
Number of pennies donated with a character determines the percent chance that it will jam. It caps at 99% chance to jam after 99 pennies.

Well I wasn't sure if my info was just from someone bullshitting on Reddit, especially because of all the tinfoil theories recently.

That makes my case all the more hilarious, 'cause it was my second run with cain in greed mode. And first successful run.
This talk of punishment for using the same character over and over in greed mode makes me think they could do something similar in the regular mode, but rather than punishing repetition, it's a reward for variety instead.
If you win as a character and then pick one you haven't played in a few (successful) runs, you're going to be given a much better chance of good things happening, IE a seed with a great first floor item, or one with no curses. If you play different characters, the game will be more fun as a result, but it won't be less than it usually is if you choose not to.
FUCK SPEED
[editline]6th November 2015[/editline]
seriously had dr fetus and BLEW through the game with six minutes left but because every enemy is so fast I died on womb II to the little worm things because I couldn't outrun them

Won't happen. That'd be abused by speedrunners for all it's worth. You can ofc fix that by introducing unbiased competetive mode, and call that official speedrunning mode or something, but that's too much work for devs.
Plus, all 'balance' features I've seen so far are made to benefit bosses, not players. You can argue that autoscaling works both ways, but let's be honest - you need to survive to the boss battle in the first place. And so far there are no measures keeping RNG from going crazy on you again and again, first giving you bad items and then throwing shitloads of fast, hard-to-dodge enemies on you every wave. And that's just the first floor.
But at least their precious boss cannot be OHK'd!

I've hit rock bottom there, abusing gnawed leaf and regeneration, and relying on peeper to kill all enemies.
Wow, Super Magnet got the prestigious title of being the worst single fucking item in the game. It's basically the second you pick it up you instantly lose the game.
I got supermagnet with IV bag in a greed run, oh yeah also bloody coin with mom's purse. keep pressing spacebar and have more coins and hearts to deal with (also luck coins prepped me into getting infinite amount of coins and hearts).
Supermagnet is great for some speed runs and combos.

So this means that it's pretty much pointless to take more than 15 cents with you to Greed at any given point, since with nothing donated, the chance to donate 15 cents in a row is only about 30%, obviously much less if you've already put money in for that character.
This also means that the donation machine inevitably turns into an unbearable grindfest. After you've donated 30 cents for every character, the machine likely always breaks before you've managed to insert 5 coins, and at 50 coins the machine most likely will break before 3.
Now it makes sense why they nerfed Azazel. After a certain point, it doesn't matter if you switch character or not, so they decided the easiest character to play as needed a nerf.
Placebo with "One makes you small" pill is the best :v:

dr fetus and stopwatch as the lost, I can't fuck this up
Onan's streak challenge with Rainbow tears and Sad Bombs.
This is what living on the edge must feel like.
hgjggnjgjgdhjdh I fucking HATE moms heart brimstone attack. I took the wrong turn
Jesus fuck I beat Speed
God bless you ipecac
should I attempt to beat [sp]hush[/sp] with dead bird and gnawed leaf for the blue baby unlock?
update: I beat [sp]hush[/sp] the classic way, athame + those hush flies are some real shit
also I rolled into dad's key in the chest. mega satan inc. who needs angel rooms lol
I really hate how in The Guardian challenge s̶̶̶p̶̶̶i̶̶̶k̶̶̶e̶̶̶s̶̶̶ ̶̶̶d̶̶̶o̶̶̶ ̶̶̶e̶̶̶i̶̶̶t̶̶̶h̶̶̶e̶̶̶r̶̶̶ ̶̶̶i̶̶̶n̶̶̶s̶̶̶t̶̶̶a̶̶̶k̶̶̶i̶̶̶l̶̶̶l̶̶̶ ̶̶̶o̶̶̶r̶̶̶ ̶̶̶h̶̶̶u̶̶̶g̶̶̶e̶̶̶ ̶̶̶d̶̶̶a̶̶̶m̶̶̶a̶̶̶g̶̶̶e̶̶̶,̶̶̶ ̶̶̶h̶̶̶a̶̶̶d̶̶̶ ̶̶̶4̶̶̶ ̶̶̶h̶̶̶e̶̶̶a̶̶̶r̶̶̶t̶̶̶s̶̶̶ ̶̶̶a̶̶̶n̶̶̶d̶̶̶ ̶̶̶s̶̶̶q̶̶̶u̶̶̶i̶̶̶r̶̶̶t̶̶̶ ̶̶̶p̶̶̶u̶̶̶s̶̶̶h̶̶̶e̶̶̶d̶̶̶ ̶̶̶t̶̶̶h̶̶̶a̶̶̶t̶̶̶ ̶̶̶g̶̶̶u̶̶̶y̶̶̶ ̶̶̶o̶̶̶n̶̶̶t̶̶̶o̶̶̶ ̶̶̶t̶̶̶h̶̶̶e̶̶̶m̶̶̶, its not the spikes, its because in afterbirth if punching bag takes too much damage, it dissapears .
It just fucked up my potentially successful run, didnt even reacted to do save scum(yes, i know, but in cases like this...).
Also i really hate Guts in this challenge as well, got in the big room full of them and couldnt do anything with it in the other run where i had bible.
You know what would be a handy consumable?
TOLL-FREE NUMBER
More shopping!
- When used, teleports Isaac to a shop not located on the map, which has a different inventory than the one on the map. When Isaac leaves this shop, it cannot be re-entered, similar to an angel or devil room. Toll-free number still works even on floors with no shop normally, allowing the player to make use of steam sale and store credit after floor 6.
Smart Fly just saved my ass doing Onan's Streak. I spent half the run just run running away while he took out everything.
Is it true that IV bag got removed from greed mode?
Oh Jesus don't even get me stated on how shit Onan's Streak is.
Was doing great. Picked up cricket's body. Figure it'll help a lot.
Every single split shot counts as a missed tear if it hits nothing
Died the next room
Reset over and over until I find Polyphemus
Figure size increase will help prevent tears missing
Next room fire a tear
Kills fly instantly
Polyphemus makes the tear continue at a decreased size
Hits wall
Damages me.
Any enemy who dies to the tear will make it pass through them
Close game
Cry
I'm bad at video games and keep forgetting what shit is, so I made a mod that puts the names of every single item on their icon. Figured I might as well slap it online for all the time it took me to make it.

Do mods still lock achievements/unlocks? This is something I'd like to use

and it has a really cool item (can get in greed) once you beat it

Gotta say, that blue makes it very hard for me to read the names on anything it's on.
and it has a really cool item (can get in greed) once you beat it
I like how the item you unlock is one you really don't want to get in Onan's Streak.
[t]http://moddingofisaac.com/modfiles/5a0abbbf4aed/screenshots/2.jpg[/t]
In this screenshots for example, the blue is almost impossible to read.
Try giving the text a white/black border like the Pandora's Box has on the top left.
It's not just the screenshots in my case, I play with max gamma so that might be what's causing it for me.
Edit: I think I see what you're trying to do with the colors to make them not blend with the item itself. My suggestion would be to use the green for everything, but where the item's pixels are touching the text, put a black pixel there to separate them.

On a similar note to this, if you guys take dead eye, don't take any piercing or you will not ever gain any damage up from successful hits.
Someone on reddit figured out what the No! trinket does: removes spacebar items from the item pool.

This has already become my favourite trinket.
