I hate that when you complete things on hard mode it circles them in red because i don't want to do everything in hard mode my ocd can't allow for only some things t be outlined though
Honestly I'd rather the bosses became more aggressive if you have a stronger build. They'd still have HP scaling to ensure you won't kill them in under 30 seconds, but they'd throw absolutely everything they have at you right from the word go. So if you get to [sp]Hush[/sp] and immediately destroy its first form, the second one starts in phase two and is hyper aggressive, overlapping patterns and giving very few safe moments between the ludicrous volleys. BUT, if you play smart and maximize your DPS, you can still kill it in under a minute. A minute of pure hell. [editline]t[/editline] Basically, if you have a build more focused on survival, the boss will try to outlast you, and if you have one that's all-out power, it will desperately try to out-DPS you since it knows it doesn't stand a chance otherwise. Makes more sense to me than just being tanky all the time, and both would be quite challenging.

I think the latest update screwed up challenges? I've completed I RULE twice and didn't get credit for it. More specifically, a chest appeared instead of a trophy when I finished.

I just did the daily run. I beat new boss and mega satan. I was guppy with the collar and when I tried to fight Satan. I died. I got resurrected so I explored a bit and got my health back and tried again. I died. I went the other way and got the super mushroom and tried again. I won. I have never been so stressed out :v
Well third time's the charm. Didn't die on MS this time and beat I Rule. Now time to face off against progressively less and less fun challenges. At least I got Onans Streak and Guardian out of the way.
From what I hear, BRAINS! isn't as bad as it sounds like it would be. As long as you stay calm and don't shoot when you don't need to, you'll be fine. Also never shoot all three unless you know for sure that's how many you need to kill something. You really don't want to leave yourself defenseless.

so the health scaling on the new bosses is horseshit got to the end of greed mode and mom's knife + technology 2 + a bunch of blue flies can't kill any of the coins he pops out before they trigger, so this mofo is healing himself and spawning unhandleable mobs every ten seconds got to the super-secret boss fight and triple brimstone laser + a shitton of damage only got him down to like half health after several minutes of extremely patient dodging (only had two hits to work with) this isn't fun in the slightest

Blank Card + Blank Rune's function was changed. Instead of being a reusable way to spawn 2 boss pedestal items, it will instead consume both the rune and the use item and transport you to the I AM ERROR room. Found this out the hard way when rolling with Jera. Welp.
That's actually really cool though. It's a reliable way to get to that room, and it gives the community the perfect tool with which to document the new layouts it got.

It's like some new guy took over development who has never played BoI. I mean they've basically backtracked over a lot of past improvements, like unfairly damaging room layouts/enemies, and nerfs that nobody likes. I could understand nerfing items and characters if they led to game-breaking exploits, but in reality they actually leave some game-breaking shit IN the game, but just sprinkle nerfs here and there to make the experience less fun. Balance isn't so vital to a singleplayer game, all that matters is how much fun people are having, not if it's "the right kind" of fun. And honestly I just think health scaling on the bosses is an inherently bad idea with this game. If I have enough luck and/or skill to end up with an insanely overpowered build, I don't want to be met with a brick wall at the end of my run that basically negates all my progress. Some items, like the shield or the soul are going to be helpful in any build, but if I've got death's touch, monstro's lung, cricket's body, and all the damage ups in the world, it doesn't do shit for me in these boss fights. I might as well go into them with the default tears for all the good it'll do me.
Like I said, weaken the scaling overall, and make those bosses more aggressive rather than giving them more health if you've got a very strong build. They turn from a test of survival into a frantic DPS race, launching everything they've got at you in hopes of killing you before you very quickly kill them. They're still challenging even if you're very powerful, and they still won't go down in one hit, but they won't take three minutes even with quad brimstone, polyphemus and guppy. Best of both worlds, problem solved.

When the game first launched, they thought it'd be gr8 to change the AI of the womb lumps, the angel babies, and the blue baby to make them have attacks where they straight up just teleport into Isaac, oblivious to both the fact this is a permadeath game and that one of the characters literally can't take damage. It took them months after the release of rebirth before they finally back-pedaled and undid those weird changes. Not to mention the entire concept of angel rooms is retarded when you consider they can give absolute joke items or no item at all, when the only way you can even get angel rooms is by skipping out on the much better devil deals. The stuff they've done this time around, with tiny rooms that are almost impossible to avoid getting damaged in, is just more of the same from them. Idk who tests their games but they're not giving them the right feedback lol. Eventually they'll fix most of this shit, but it's gonna take awhile. Tho some shit like the AZ nerf (once it's corrected) is here to stay so o well. For all it's faults I still enjoy the game, but it's all just another reason I can't wait for full modding support: So that someone can fix all this shit.
I'm finished having miserable experience for today. It was entirely summed up by phrase "No fun allowed": Guaranteed-hit rooms, crap items, overpowered first-floor bosses, goddamn bone-machinegunning skellies with their superior sniping skills and lightning-fast reaction... Worst of all, there's not a single character now that can remedy this situation and allow me to have at least some fun. Thanks, devs. I'm really hoping that all of this nerf galore/one-sided balance bullshit is here for the period of this dumb greed ARG thing nicalis got going on. They'd better back the fuck off with nerfs after this blows over. Otherwise I might need to warm up IDA and patch the game to the enjoyable state. Modding cannot come fast enough.

I was usually hesitant on ever taking a boss rush item, but now I have only done one Boss rush besides the req for Lillith because I just didn't find a reason to.
good idea for boss rushes would be to make the reward item a choice one of out 4 as well. I don't remember the last time I did a boss rush not for unlock. Ed just said on his blog the new challenges will be changed to be more fair. Also Azazel will be reverted to normal, Ultra Greed will be nerfed, and some bugfixes what happened to my automerge

it's lame that they can't get scaling right. I finished all the challenges so I guess I'm going for completion marks now. but I sort of don't even feel like doing secretblueboy or ultra greed because they're like "uh lol we went overboard on this one whoops wait until next patch" (also that's another thing, I hate how slow patches have been for this series) beats me how they should do it, to be honest. I think they should just let us kill these big bosses in short times, who cares. we can kill mega satan in a few seconds. again. the antithesis of good in the world. we kill in seconds.
