I want to unlock her but i dont know if i want to spend my 7k gold :c
And there lies the issue with HotS. Shit is too expensive and it takes you too long to earn gold so when you can finally spend it you're not sure if you actually want to.

And the daily quest dont help out at all sometimes. Like yesterday they had play 3 games as a specialist, well i dont have any of those unlocked so i was SOL.
And there lies the issue with HotS. Shit is too expensive and it takes you too long to earn gold so when you can finally spend it you're not sure if you actually want to.
w/o quests its like what 20-30-ish gold per pvp game, and its 2k for the lowest costing hero, at least in lol its like 4-5 win or lose. Then again there aren't as many heroes for HotS right this second so i doubt they want people getting every hero so quick and games are p short by comparison
20g in a defeat, 30 in a win. Even if you win every game you play, you're going to play 66 games before you can unlock the cheapest hero. It's more outrageous than some of the 1000 cert unlocks in Planetside 2. You can 'Sub' with those stimpacks and get 150% gold rewards which is a pretty decent boost, but it's still so little it isn't worth it. It'll take you down to about 27 games, if you win them all, to get the cheapest hero, IF the 150% is additive for 75g per win and not 45g
I wonder how much money this game has made so far being in closed alpha and beta

You want a 10k gold hero. Not counting quests, which would alleviate this slightly, that is 400 games. If each game lasted 20 minutes, that is 133 hours of playing to get the highest tier gold hero (outside of the temp 15k they are places at, which is retarded). That is a lot. Even without runes like LoL, which is an argument some people make, that is a fucking lot.
I really wish they'd invite me. Been waiting since this thing was announced.
I don't know if this is true, but I do recall hearing a long while back that you had to at least have one Blizzard game owned via Battle.net to be eligible to be invited. I haven't played too much of the game yet, but I really like Jim Ray-somthing. Makes me wanna try SCII. :v:

Good news everyone! Now you can buy your way into the beta access for a superb price of 39.99! https://us.battle.net/shop/en/product/heroes-of-the-storm-founders-pack#techspecs
So you get Diablo, Raynor, and Tyrande. One of the worst Warriors in the game, a hero that is free every other week, and probably the highest skill cap hero in the game. Great pack Blizzard.
That is one of the scummiest things I've seen in a while. Blatantly refusing to make the free to play game open to milk money from people to buy their way in is the sort of thing I expect on indie steam early access games, not something that's supposed to be of this quality. So now either they keep the game closed for a really long time and openly milk money on what was supposed to be a free to play game, or switch to open beta soon and rip off everybody who bought their way in. Not to mention people who buy their way in still have to grind for most of the roster like somebody who got in randomly for free. Blegh.
Id be ok with a buy your way into the beta but...$40 is just laughable cash grab.
They should have included Li Li instead of Tyrande. Pretty sure you only need one finger on each hand to play Li Li.
Thought I got into the beta, realized it's just the cash grab. :suicide:
Meh I got disposable income and I'm tired of waiting so I got the pack. You get 2500 gold to start out which is another hero right there. You also get the Wonder Billie mount in addition to the golden one. Like it's 4 heroes, 3 skins, and 2 mounts. Not all around awful honestly. The price of the individual parts of the pack far surpasses $40, and that isn't even including the beta key. I could see the problem with it if they stopped adding people to the beta but they're not. Nothing wrong with giving people the option of gaining access if they got the cash for it.
Yeah i'm not exactly sure why people are salty, i'm almost tempted by the pack being in beta anyway.
Like i said i dont mind the option to get into the beta by buying your way in but $40 imo is too high. You look at there other Blizzard products and compare to this and its lacking in content for $40 imo.
Personally I'm salty because I don't think the game should still be closed in the first place. The argument could be said they don't want the servers flooded with people while it's still being developed, but then they just open it up anyway with a way-too-high cash price on it. There is also the fact that the prices for things in the game are outrageous. Sure, it's a "deal" by the standards of the in-game prices, but those prices are way too high. One high tier hero costs ten dollars and the skins and mounts go up to ridiculous prices (15 US dollars for mecha-tassadar!?). You can purchase a brand-new triple A game for less than 20% of the in-game roster. Obviously you can just grind it, but the purchase option is not very economical and including those prices in the beta key is rather silly. At least the game is good, and while farming gold is annoying it's not way too bad of a system. I just don't think it's even remotely worth the price to buy your way into a free game that still wants you to grind or pay money for the things inside.
They should have included Li Li instead of Tyrande. Pretty sure you only need one finger on each hand to play Li Li.
Except LiLi is the worst support in the game, unless the last patch made her not garbage.
Is the founders pack worth $20? (I got a $20 B.net card as a gift a while back) If I find hearthstone's gold earn rate to be reasonable will I like HotS's free to play model?
Oh hey looks like they're starting contests for keys. http://www.polygon.com/forums/heroes-of-the-storm/2015/1/20/7859755/contest-want-to-get-into-the-heroes-of-the-storm-closed-beta
Well i leveled up and unlocked Sgt Hammer so i dont have to waste money on her. I like her so far shes pretty cool.

Well starting out they give a ton of gold leveling up and playing with a friend you get 50% more xp for your character which then will give you 500 more gold. So at start the game gives you gold but then after that it gets heavy.
Yeah i'm not exactly sure why people are salty, i'm almost tempted by the pack being in beta anyway.
Because this doesn't really give me much confidence for the cash shop on launch.
The Nexus bundle seems like a good deal, but how do I know for sure?
It's a good bundle because i told you it is, having already bought it.
