Heroes of the Storm - It's like if Blizzard made Smash Bros. but not! - Games

Bought my way into the beta like a dumb, enjoying the hell out of it so far. Really loving E.T.C. and his crazy amounts of CC.

With his ultimate you can trap ppl inside your base by throwing them up through the gate. Other than that im not sure what characters i wana play, bought nova and tychus and illadin, they are all great apart from nova's mobility.

This game is so much fun! Definitely worth spending the 35€ to get into :)

Stitches is really fun to play. Stg Hammer is also good but damn it can be frustrating.

About the gold; whilst it's true that you hardly get any per game, you get 500 for each hero that you get to level 5. Some daily quests give 800 gold, which is nice too.

Okay, got the game pretty effortlessly through polygon. What are some good characters to play right now?

okay I'll try him when he's free. Started out with Falstad and he seems pretty strong.

wow i just realised that f2p'ers will get NOTHING when the game goes out of beta. you can only play the 5 characters that are on free rotation, you don't get any permanently playable characters if you don't spend gold or money.

Started out with Falstad and he seems pretty strong.[/QUOTE] Depends what you like, ive been playing a lot of assassin characters, Raynor and tychus are both really fun, stitches and diablo are really fun tanky characters with good control. Havent played him but malfurion and the fey dragon look to be really good supports. Take in mind though a lot of characters are crap till you get them to level 4 and unlock their other talents, raynors second elite is 100000% better than his first.

So, I'm really liking Anub'Arak. Please tell me he doesn't suck. Also, seems like building for Beetles is not worth it, is that the case?

Play the game to get gold to unlock other heroes you want? Any characters you unlock now will be available in the full game.

They also have Hearthstone which is insanely successful and because it's a card game I imagine people are spending money by the pound on it. In general though, I wish the gold prices on heroes were just lower or it was easier to get gold but after so long with the way things have worked now I doubt the gold gain rate will be changed and there is zero chance the hero prices will be changed. This is the way it is going to be, shitty per-game gains, crappy daily quests, bad boosters, get used to it, bend over, take it.

The hero system seems pretty similar to League.

And at least HOTS uses direct purchases, not a premium currency.
