Heroes of the Storm - It's like if Blizzard made Smash Bros. but not!

I feel like I'm reading something from the twilight zone. Illidan and Falstad used to be two of the better heroes for sustained singe target damage and now you're saying they're bad at it?
E: This is a genuine question since I haven't played in forever.
I'm sorry but The hunt will always remain one of my favorite abilities in the entire game, same goes for Tyrael's Judgment

Falstad recently got a huge nerf by removing gathering power from him. Plus the new scaling changes have made some heroes better and some worse.

Yes.
Illidan did used to be one of the best. Now he's not great.
Illidan quite literally lives on sustained damage though. Metamorphosis gives you bonus health that works great with stone skin. He can survive a lot if you think quick with his abilities. If you get stunned you are dead if the enemy capitalizes on it. You just can't expect to take on an entire team by yourself. I just wish that he had more than roughly one viable build. I normally use hunt but metamorphosis is generally the more viable option due to the utility.
I messed up when I was trying to say what's wrong with him, a little bit. He just needs slight buff to health or damage or something to keep him alive and useful earlier, especially when everyone else hits so hard early on now with the scaling overhaul. But a small buff could make him very strong with a team that actually communicates to keep him alive.
I don't think he'll ever be particularly good in Hero League, though. I did Illi/Aba duo queue with my friend a few times a couple months back and it was a wonderful thing, but I think it was kinda luck. Coordination is a must, maybe a support who can time their cleanse really well, I dunno.
Then again I'm not amazing so I could be talking out of my ass right now
I don't know, he feels pretty good to me. He's great at poking in the early game due to evasion for tower shots. You also don't have to use a fountain as much since you can heal off of attacks. My main objective with him early on is to poke at people and body block so that my team can gank. Never underestimate the power of a good body blocker; Illi can help a team earn easy kills with that.
Man, I thought I'd be able to keep up my 83% winrate throughout my placement matches, but it turned out to not be the case. Somehow got a huge string of games with people with 200-900 MMR.
Ended 10-10 at rank 21. So disappointed.
When are they fixing matchmaking to be the way it used to be? Premades VS premades & randoms vs randoms?
2P3R VS 3P2R is unfair but it can be accepted.
This bullshit is bullshit.

How low is rank 35, exactly?
Consider these:
-ranks don't each have 2% of the total player base in them, because you need ~2600 hotslogs mmr to get rank 1, and there are definitely more than 2% of the playerbase with 2600-4700 mmr
-you don't lose ranks due to inactivity, which means there isn't a set number of people that needs to be in a certain rank at any given time
As to your question, it's pretty low. But don't pay too much heed to it, just make sure you have fun playing this game. :dog:

Hero League game and this Artanis decides to say "this fal and etc are too bad to carry", I reply with the very mature "you ain't carrying shit motherfucker" and he then proceeds to say "ok lol do it without me then" and runs down lane feeding from there on. We were winning teamfight after teamfight because of my Mosh Pits and Nova + Fal's burst. We managed to single out a squishy every teamfight without Art and almost win everytime. The game ended us, 28, them 17. Artanis' lasts words: "look at you, so pro winning the game"
Edit: I seem to have failed to say we actually lost because Tychus got the mech ult and they used that to push with Dragon Knight, straight to core.
One thing that's starting to piss me off about ranked is that every player comes into match making with a clear idea of what hero he/she wants to play (usually an assassin), and utterly refuses to change it no matter the team's composition or other factors
This sucks because, being that kind of guy, I always end up doing the support healer (a role I like) or the tank (a role I'm not good at)
I'd really like to play assassin sometimes

A lot of that is because that's all they feel confident in playing/all they play. One dude I'm friends with has 800 games as Muradin... Most people probably have some type of "main" also, but the point of Hero League is to use the draft pick to be able to fill any role (and play it effectively...) in an attempt to counterpick the other team. It's not as drastic as something like League but you gotta make sure to have a working team comp no matter what, like if all you get are assassins, even if you manage to use that damage effectively, you have a game that's basically on the edge of being lost all the time against a normal team comp. I don't get why players are so uncooperative in ranked MOBAs, the loss applies to everyone yet they'd willingly shit on their own team for the sake of salt.

I agree with your point but your friend really isn't in the wrong playing Muradin that much. Top tier hero that fits into basically any comp. Now if he picked Gazlow for 800 games then you may need to have a talk with him.
Caught the end of the C9 vs Bob Ross game, my god.

You could say they had more than a Happy little accident.
I don't think I want to play this game anymore until they either rework or remove nova and zeratul.
I think Nova is almost in an alright spot, but I'm having a little trouble doing absolutely anything as Zeratul anymore. He dies really easily and can't do as much damage as he used to. Regardless, they're heroes who force you to position better, which is fine to me.
But Nova with high stacks of gathering power is one of the most annoying things in the game. And there are many talents you would have no reason to ever pick on her. Which is a common problem, unfortunately.

Its just frustrating when you knowing those shits are around but you either dont have any aoe spells or you don't have tassadar on your team so all you can do is sit there and wait for them to attack you.
It's best to use a buddy system when either of them is around, mostly Nova. If you don't have a way to harass them before they decloak the best you can do is sit by defense, juke snipes when you see Nova trying to line them up, or keep minions between her and you.
I guess I'm just frustrated because my last 4 or so games have been against teams with both zera/nova on them and it just isn't fun.
oh yeah, Nova can make anyone rage when she seems to always be in the right place to kill you.
Free Nova week is a pain in the ass for everyone involved.
Looks like we are getting C9 vs Bob Ross again for the finals.
Nor that it happened to me even once, but apparently players across the world hate Illidan's guts and regard him as a feeder hero and whoever decides to pick him a mindless idiot who costed the entire team the game
I'm also liking Sgt. Hammer unique gameplay flavor a big deal and could even unlock her
The fact I find her hot as fuck of course doesn't have anything to do with my choice
Incidentally, I had a game yesterday where the enemy team first picked Illidan. They ended up with no support. Easy win.
I wonder if the lower picks were just too whiny to want to even try.
Greymane should be coming out today. First hero I've actually been hyped for them releasing.
Ranked play is pretty cancerous at the unranked/lower levels. People don't take it seriously at all, and it makes it hard to get up in the levels. A dude told us "chill bro, it's just a game" when we were trying to get him to work with us as a team instead of pushing the same lane 24/7 while everyone else was trying to get the objectives. Like why play ranked if you aren't in it to win it?
