Heroes of the Storm - It's like if Blizzard made Smash Bros. but not!

I'm not even going to attempt ranked until Tyrande gets fucking nerfed.
I understand the whole "it's just a game" thing if everyone is yelling at you for a harmless mistake, but that was no excuse for playing so casually in a ranked game of all things.

Tyrande isn't a problem in ranked games. It's getting a team that actually wants to play.

It's FULL of casuals and people who want to do it their way, and will gladly say "fuck you" to the rest of their team for not wanting to do what they want. The way that Heroes is set up, one person can hold the entire team hostage because you really need everyone working together.

Tyrande is a problem in every game. She's completely overpowered right now, being able to do everything with the exception of tank.
Edit: The scaling changes just completely broke her. She deals way too much damage now combined with the amount of utility she has just makes her stupid. She has a 59% winrate right now, and is picked in almost every game along with a few other heroes like Diablo, Raynor and Kael'Thas. I can't speak for Dibbles or Kael'thas, but Raynor and Tyrande have definitely been in a bunch of games lately for me and they showcase how stupid they currently are.

Yeah, but I've seen a LOT of people who don't know how to play them, especially Raynor. They may get picked, but not fully utilized all the time.

Can confirm, played a bunch of ranked games the past two days, first team to get Tyr+Diablo+KT and/or Raynor will probably win. At least around rank 10-15 and most definitely higher.
Across all the games, ran into one Gazlowe instant pick with a horrendously shitty attitude and that was about it in terms of awful teammates.
Greymane is pretty badass....
queue times as him, however, are not.

That doesn't mean the hero itself is balanced. Nor does it justify it being unbalanced.
What is up with the terrible teams I'm getting today? Just no teamwork or they don't know how to play properly.
Chasing an enemy, disengaging forward, and shooting them in the back once for a kill is so satisfying as Greymane.

I love when people try to escape from Greymane in a destroyed lane. You cannot get away, you are more likely to get away from Illidan.
My MMR yesterday WAS 1288, until:
3 game losing streak (it happens)
2 matches in a row where we had one teammate who would play for a minute, then literally say "This team sucks. I'm not playing with you guys." and spend the rest of the match invisible in the tall grass so they didn't die. One was a Diablo, our tank, and the other was Valla, which pissed off my friend because he was going to pick valla, but let the guy pick her because he knows how to play others.
The next two matches, me and my buddy were matched with teammates who didn't have any sense of picking or playing strategy. The opposing teams worked together and slaughtered us while we had teammates like a diablo constantly solo pushing the same lane no matter what was going on with map objectives.
My MMR is now 850, and I'm so fucking pissed. I went from playing with people who knew what they were doing and who I could work with as a team to win 50% to 60% of matches, to people who don't know the basics like how to body block as a tank to shield your teammate as they get the objective. It's just sucking all of the fun out of the game to the point that me and my friend have both thought about completely giving up on Hero League, if not HOTS altogether. It just sucks the soul out of you to know that you're so much better, but can't get out of a toxic environment.
It's ok
People still stuck almost as hard at 2k mmr anyway
If your mmr is fluctuating that much then it means you still have a chance to come back
Where do you even see your MMR?
Hotslogs gives a really rough estimate.
Seems to be really rough then. I'm your average joe in this game and it shows a 2800 MMR for quick match on Hotslogs for me.

All you can do is report people who are afk/toxic because engaging them isn't worth your time. Always start the draft phase saying hello in hopes of getting your teammates talking. Always pick around your team but do not play heroes you don't know how to play.
I went through this myself and I'm not trying to insult you but you're not as good as you think you are. You can't fix your teammates mistakes but you can fix your own. Focus on yourself and how you could have done better in that match and not the people who you will most likely never play with again. This way you will always play your best regardless of the situation.
You should try ranked solo too since you may be limiting each other from improving individually. Once you both see a drastic change in your rank then try duo que again.

Don't use smileys or be enthusiastic though, just wish them good luck.
Russians can and have got immediately pissed off because you're being happy without a cause, which means you're an idiot.
Yea, you can always wish them good luck at the start of the match but the point of saying hello in draft is to hopefully get communication about what kind of team comp you are going for.

Me and my friend have been kicking ass. Haven't lost a match tonigh, but our ranks won't go up any quicker. It sucks that we are down here and it shows that a fluke losing streak brings you down more than it should. There should be some kind of system to stop that from really burying you in the ranks.
Firing off a huge Shadowbolt Volley as Ogre Bros while you're both chanting
"CHO'GALL, CHO'GALL, CHO'GALL!!" might be the most satisfying thing in the entire game.
That ult is so nasty at level 20.

Why do all of my funniest moments come from playing Abathur?
So how bad is everyone's ping in this game? I had stuff uploading last time I played and it didn't affect the framerate at all until it hit 1000 ms. At that point you can't play for shit even if the framerate is fine.

Mine typically sits at about 40-160 most of the time. Sometimes I end up in the Singaporean servers for some reason and play at 400 ms.
Next two heroes confirmed to be Li-Ming the D3 Wizard and Xul the D2 Necromancer.
Very exciting news.
I thought people were saying the male was Medivh? That's still awesome news, wonder what niche Xul will fill that isn't already taken by Nazeebo.
