god, i hate enjoying this game it's a really fun game but everyone i know doesnt understand why i enjoy it ranked is super fun

The new patch makes me want some sort of Luchadore skin for Diablo. Chucking everyone everywhere is so goddamn fun.

So I haven't played in aaaaages, but I've kinda been getting back in for a bit. I used to LOVE Zagara back when I played, but apparently she's been reworked since then. Does anyone have any thoughts on her post-rework? Based on the very little I've played again, my first impression was that it was mostly a nerf but I don't have the experience to make that call.

Now she's kinda bad.

2.0 looks pretty exciting, I'm just disappointed that they're not renovating and fixing how reconnecting to a game works. I get that it's an engine issue, but the more work you pile ontop of it, the harder it'll be to retroactively fix. Also, Genji looks pretty cool.

Damn they're really trying to get more people into the game. That's a crazy amount of Heroes to unlock. I can't wait for everyone to pick the assassin bundle and drown in 5000 Novas, Zeratuls and Valeeras.

You make it sound like it'll actually be an improvement over the current quantity of Novas and Valeeras :v:

A pity that grinding for all characters without putting money into the game is still virtually impossible. Dont' you X me, I still play this game, I know that outside of quests (which give a very limited amount of gold) you get barely 2 digits of gold per match while the characters cost 5 digits of gold. There is no point in pretending it isn't like that.

You can get 1.000 gold a week by polaying the Hero Brawl.

It will still take you several years to unlock everything unless you are a hardcore grinder in which case it will then take you two or three years, and I'm not even exaggerating (SMITE takes around a year/year and half of "above average" grinding to get all 8X characters, League has a much bigger cast and takes a very, very long time to unlock non super cheap characters, but somehow its still faster than in HotS). Recruiting people into the game by lying to them about how grindy the game is is something I'll never understand, because that'll just cause people to reject the game as soon as they find out the truth, and then those people won't exactly feel like recommending the game to their friends. There are so many other things you could be arguing about to promote, sell or defend the game ("blizzard characters", "lots of maps with gimmics", "super casual friendly", etc.), this is one of its weakest.

I unlocked half the roster and I only played about a month or two total. You're just hating on the game just to hate on it.

In two years of playing the game without being grindy, I have about 3/5 of the roster and plenty of gold to buy all the other characters. I never played during summer and I'm at full time at the university. Especially with Heroes 2.0 coming, where you get about the third of the roster FOR FREE, I don't think your complaints are so well grounded. I can't really compare to others MOBA, but I never felt like I was in need of more heroes to my collection.

I can't really compare to others MOBA, but I never felt like I was in need of more heroes to my collection.[/QUOTE] Just keep in mind that's a limited time promotion for 2.0 (It's still fresh in my mind how people said the large amount of free chests and essence granted in Paladins's season 1 update shouldn't be celebrated since it was just there to fool people into not thinking the grinding would be that sereve. Though in the end, the grinding was not that bad, it's still worth comparing.), and that while you might preffering to own a few characters you like, others like to have a variety of characters for all situations (or they just like to catch em all), so while the excessive grinding isn't a problem for you, it is a real problem for others.

But the grinding is even less in 2.0 especially now that you get the currency endlessly

Welp, looks like I'm installing HotS again and grabbing my 20 heroes. It'll probably be more like 10 or so, cause I already had over half of the heroes unlocked back when I played it regularly. I don't know whether actually I'll go back to playing, but my brother is finally getting a decent computer and has expressed interest in trying the game out with me, so who knows.
