I'm glad they're removing the awful map rotation from quick match/unranked. The Thrall rework seems interesting too.
I'll miss not having to play Garden of Terror/Blackheart's Bay though.
I'm so done with ranked, sick of people picking squishies against an obvious butcher dive comp and then die 3 times the first minute and then try to blame the team for losing.
Better than my last team league. Me and a buddy got placed with platinums who wanted to pick cho-gall, and then when that fell through, completely fucked up the comp. Then told us in-game not to throw, and proceeded to throw because "idc bro. you're not a high enough level for me to care about this game."

I'm willing to make this sacrifice if it means less Hanamura.

Blackheart's Bay is far from my favorite but sometimes it's fun to play on it. Garden of Terror wasn't missed though.
I'm eagerly awaiting to try the new heroes on Dragonshire, it's been a while since I played it.
When can we opt out or veto maps in hots? I'm sure one team would ban garden while another would ban hanamura most of the time. When will blizzard learn that those are unwanted maps?
Also, tyrael is apparently healer now:

Hanamura isn't even the worst map in the rotation currently, that's haunted mines and warhead.
Hanamura isn't even the worst map in the rotation currently, that's haunted mines and warhead.
I gain more enjoyment out of either of those than Hanamura
I think the only map I despise is towers of doom.
There are some maps that I haven't gotten to play on yet like garden of terror and blackheart's bay so I don't know if I would like them or not.
Hanamura isn't even the worst map in the rotation currently, that's haunted mines and warhead.
warhead is acceptable by the fact alone that it has 3 lanes. 2 lane maps fall flat too often due to rotation times being too low.
if anyone wants to team up and do vs AI to quickly get the games out of the way id be down for that, i like HOTS but im busy with other games right now (*cough* grinding in overwatch and GTA *cough*) and my friends dont play diablo to want to get the cosmetic wings

i'm usually down for bot games Vmonkey#1752
that goes for everyone needing bot playing friends and stuff
Got to try Auriel thanks to the free weekend and she's pretty fun, I only wish she had some passive energy gain, because if you die once you respawn you can't immediately start healing and helping again.

If you find yourself low on energy all the time, I'd strongly recommend picking the talent that gives you more energy on basic attacks. It's almost always the better choice, but I think that with two frontliner tanks you could go for the damage taken one as an alternative.

Nope, didn't cry for my team at all while this was happening, diversion just as planned
Welp, here's next hero, and it's long-awaited for a lot of people Alexei Stukov.

I chose a really bad time to complete my hero collection thinking that the next few heroes are gonna be ones I'm not interested in :(
Leroic is slowly becoming my flagship hero or something (mind you, I always build him prioritizing heals above all else).
It'll never cease to amaze me how your average MOBA player has always this odd compulsion to try attacking any enemy hero as soon as he has his sight on it till he can't see it anymore, which prooves to be a fatal mistake when your objective is trying to bloody outlive the fucking SKELETON KING
Root that conspiracy out son, make them suffer!

Also i really hope they'll make Vice-Admiral version of Stukov from Brood War (like Kerrigan for example).
jesus stukov looks crazy, I wonder how good the heal is going to be. definitely good to see a new support that doesnt just exist to heal/buff his teammates though
Stukov's push ult is enough for Trolden to just make a heroes channel based off of highlights of that ult alone. (that is assuming Trolden doesn't already have a heroes channel)
Gadget skin for Stukov pls
Stukovs DoT based skills makes my dick rock hard. This is everything I've wanted in a hero ever since vanilla locks.
Stukov looks pretty incredible. I'm not a starcraft player but apparently he's missing Zombies and infecting buildings, but spamming minions seems to already be a niche filled by Zagara and Azmodan. Infecting buildings is arguably Abathurs thing too, so I can see why they decided to take this route with him.
The New Brawl is incredibly fun by the way.

Infecting things in general was his schtick because he basically gave everybody a zerg virus. People complaining about his skillset not being lore-friendly are just being dumbos.
I'm not gonna complain but it does make me ask, why pick Stukov if they discard his original skillset anyway?

In starcraft 2 his hero unit skillset was incredibly generic (regen aura, basic damage ability and summon 2 minions if I recall correctly) as it was available only for a few missions at most, up until his co-op commander version came up where he suddenly had literally infinite infested dudes and special abilities to summon an ultralisk with flamethrowers or a infested battlecruiser and his creep spread forever while he himself was not present on the battlefield.
Which while would be fun to see, doesn't seem very appropriate for hots especially since the developers afaik aren't as keen on having more summoners in the game (Plus technically in co-op he's commanding his army rather than fighting by himself).
So they can use the hero unit himself that has a very unoriginal skillset or keep the theme but go full crazy with the kit.
Although, that's primarily my perspective on this, the real reasoning on it could've been much simpler.

That all makes sense, except that if they didn't want another summoner, there's plenty of other characters that aren't known for, for example, controlling infested armies.
It's not weird that he fights personally, weirder that he didn't in co-op, as it was mentioned in Heart of the Swarm that Stukov's power is roughly between Kerrigan's pre- and post Zerus.
Also, it was rather clear he'd be added to HotS regardless, being the next in line of character recognition and interestingness.
Did they make some MM changes with the release of 2.0 in order to sacrifice match quality for speed?
Now matches are near instant as opposed to the 1-2 minutes before, but I have found since then the game seems to very regularly match up completely ridiculous team compositions, usually one sided to wards one team and lately its really killing my enjoyment of the game. I don't want to have a defeatist attitude but I find myself often saying 'well we have probably lost this' on the loading screen and I'm often right because you can just see how much of an advantage the enemy team has in composition alone.
My favourite was the other day when the game decided to give our team Probius, Abathur and Murky with a tank/support, and the enemy team 3 assassins with tank/support, on haunted mines. The main thing for me seems to be dropping high damage assassins on one team and only really having low damage specialists on the other, or one team having a huge amount of CC and the other having little to none.
Combined with the map/mode the game can just feel like a coin flip on whether or not you have lost if the enemy team are at all competent.
