This thread has gone quiet. Let's get some discussion going. What are you guys looking forward to in the new expansion? (From what you've seen so far)

I hope we can kill people, a lot of people.
Far Cry tried to be realistic and have survival elements; you die fast and so do your enemies if you land that critical headshot from across the map down the barrel of a wavering sniper scope, sneaking back into the grass to stay out of sight.
Postal wants you to go out and utilize the tools it gives you however you want, sometimes in creatively absurd ways. As well as not striving for realism, the ability to insta-kill people with nothing but a lone bullet to the face would mean that you would never have to touch anything other than your hitscan weapons - completely defeating the point of having such a massive arsenal to begin with.
His comparison completely misses the point of Postal and he instead chooses to judge it based on the year it came out and his expectations for games released in that year.
AKA Escapist is shite anyway.
I don't think there is a good game journalism site out there. Hell, I bet if Jim Sterling could, he would totally rip the writers for The Escapist to shreds.
That eing said, I can't wait for the DLC, got money in my steam wallet just for you
What are you guys looking forward to in the new expansion?
I'm looking forward to the intergalactic space fighter vehicles! It looked really cool in that scene from the trailer where the Dude was ambushed by his clones on snowmobiles.

Postal II has a pretty nice steam discussion board.

Even people in the comments are calling him out on the article.
Usually Escapist comments are big circlejerks

Also Toploader confirmed "Ambitious Garbage" will be on garbage trucks since it isn't considered box-worthy.

I BLAZED through the entire game with that, I almost cried when I lost it during the [sp]gimp[/sp] portion of the game.

You're welcome, enjoy!
Hopefully when the DLC comes out the thread will pick up, it's just barely alive at the moment.
People are too busy playing Postal 2
Did RWS get around to porting the new updates to the Linux version of the game yet?
I'm still quietly wishing for a customizable sandbox mode of some sort.
I was trying an ironman run earlier today. I only had two health left and no healing items when suddenly a redneck pulled out his shotgun and started to take aim. I chopped his head off with an axe right in front of a police officer. My keyboard ran out of charge just as soon as I heard "DROP THE WEAPON OR I'LL SHOOT", leaving me defenseless. I thought that was going to be the end, but he started shooting at a fucking cat. Turns out, just as I chopped off the redneck's head, the cat walked in front of me and blocked the cop's view.
Goodbye, The Postal Cat. You were too beautiful for this world.
I can't wait to see the achievements. What will they come out with this time?

I think I understand what the Escapist was saying.
I was playing Myst the other day and I thought, "Where's the demons? Doom had demons and it came out the same year and they're both first person! -5/10"

Nah, but it is being worked on, and will come. One day...
I dug out an old classic custom single player map with an objective to throw onto workshop, well worth checking out.

Finally got around to playing the Steam version of Postal. The workshop really helps a lot. Now I can finally make Postal 2 as good as if not better than my old retail copy.
Hey postal, do you think I'd get away with talking about UE2 / POSTAL mapping in the developers section of this forum or that still very much all about the Source mapping?
