POSTAL Megathread: Let's piss on everything and blow their heads off v1

Running With Scissors are offering to put up the best Steam reviews of both Postal 2 and Paradise Lost on their social sites and the main RWS site if they think they are interesting. The post was made on their Facebook page. I decided to write one for each myself, if anyone wants a read. Just a heads up, they are my first proper attempts at reviewing. My Paradise Lost review is acting a tad weird on Steam and I don't know why but here are the links:

Paradise Lost was a really fantastic way to end Postal 2. The more I played it the more I realized that this was one of the biggest love letters to fans I've ever seen in games. I hope that we get a Postal 4 one day as well.

But we still don't have Postal 3.
All we have is that Russian fangame.
They should call Postal 3 something to mock the "fangame"
Postal 3: (Real Edition)
Fuck me, Paradise Lost crashed when I beat the fucking last boss. That was a nightmare to do once.

MikeJ confirmed there will be a Postal 4 during a Reddit AMA the other week.
I assume it'll be what they'll work on after releasing Redux.
It would be cool if it was on Unreal 4

Postal Redux is on Unreal 4, if im remembering what i read right.
The backgrounds will still be 2D paintings, im interested in seeing what it looks like.

Weren't the backgrounds for Postal drawn by hand on paper and scanned to be used in the game?

I think, yeah.
They apparently have some talented artist working on the backgrounds, based on what their interview with tech raptor said.

a very talented artist who's worked on other popular non-postal games before, too

Hold on, zone drew the bg for Postal?
I don't think anyone here has noticed (except Marphy, probably), though pardon me if I'm wrong, but I do recall hearing discussions about the beta version of the model used for the Dude in Postal III that more closely resembled his Postal II incarnation, and how remnants were found through online artwork and PIII's leftover files. As I was interested in that sort of thing, a bit of minor investigation found that said model was reconstructed for an attempted beta mod for PIII, and in fact, the mod as it was did end up being publicly released. So there's luckily a complete beta PIII Dude out there for anyone to get!
For those like me interested in GMod/SFM model repurposing, the model is a bit flawed in that its faceposing is broken (there's flexes, but they do nothing, and the model doesn't even have teeth inside for the mouth), there's only two bones on the fingers, and GMod users will find that some kind of bone glitch plays havoc with the right arm, but its in pretty good quality. If any of the three Postal Dude models ever deserved a full touch-up for GMod/SFM poses, it makes for a good candidate.

Also, really enjoying Postal II so far. Picked it up last Christmas, but the Paradise Lost fever convinced me to fire it up. Great fun, though I fear I'm a bit too reserved with my playstyle since I find myself hiding from the cops more than I'd like to to avoid having to deal with their vigilance on my antics. Any tips on that?
Could be worse, could have been Shad
Shad would've loved to draw art for Postal, probably. :v:

I dunno, there's probably not a lot of room for buxom punk girls with pierced anuses in Postal.

There's room for everyone, The Dude is an equal opportunity lunatic.

if I were to get enough info about Source Engine specifications I could eventually maybe potentially (did I already say maybe) take a look at it
Zero guarantees I'll end up doing anything at all though
It's been too long since I worked on source and I can't be assed to remember how to do things but find me a decompiled model and someone that will recompile it and I'll fix up the rig for you

Has the P3Beta Dude model decompiled, textures included.
Oh jesus christ what, this thing is like a dozen different models put together and they don't even make any sense.
Some of them don't even seem to import properly, although that might be me not being used to using WallWorm, but that's all I can use right now.
Sorry for getting your hopes up, I was expecting a simple job but this would take me days to sort an I'm already having flashbacks remembering what a pain in the ass source is, I just don't have the willpower to jump back into it
I give a lot of shit to UE2 for being a buggy mess but as far as being user friendly goes it's miles ahead of source
Anymore news about the upgraded and updated Eternal Damnation Toploader? I'm still dying to replay that mod again!

It's being worked on right now by many of the team that worked on PL! It's getting a pretty major overhaul that makes the original 2006 release look pre alpha, so you guys should all approve.
BTW, a big patch for PL went out on Wednesday, should have dealt with many of the issues in the final boss map among other things.

I hope the main characters voicework is one of the things that is NOT getting an overhaul! Who can forget such lines as...
Hold on... let me just PULL MY COCK OUT
and
mother FUCKERRR!!!111ONE
ED was quite the experiance to go through, and I would gladly play a heavily updated version of it today - even if I had to pay for it like the Paradise Lost expasnion!
Yeah ED was amazing. I used to get shit scared at the jumpscare faces though.
