did RWS do the writing for Postal 3?
Keep us posted about it, I really want to know if it's as bad as everyone says it is. [editline]28th December 2013[/editline] I just noticed, it's only 9.49 €. Should I also buy it?
9 euros is about 30 euros too much for Postal 3.
There are 2 good things about Postal 3 - voice acting and Dude's model. 3rd person cam made half of the items hardly usable. Try to use gasoline - you'll start to hate it very soon. And crashes, tons of em! Hell, even unpatched Stalker games aren't remotely close to P3.
If you plan on buying Postal 3 and use Windows 8.1 you're going to have a bad time. The drm gives an error message when you try to play the game, and the nodrm patch will load the game and everything, but using grenades and a few other items will crash the game. I wish I checked the discussion forums before buying the game a few hours ago.
I thought of buying another 4 pack of Postal 2 but steam wouldn't let me :( Oh well, I guess it's good to stay within some limits.
So I've never seen a source game or mod fuck up as much as Postal 3. I mean the game play is what I'd expect from a typical third person shooter using the source engine and all that, but holy fuck does this game crash and freak out a lot. First off it has these bizarre stuttering issues during the cut scenes sometimes, and it crashes more than the playable Half-Life 2 leak. If you go into it knowing it's bad, it won't be AS bad. If you go into it expecting Postal 2 in source, you're going to have a bad time. The tutorial mission is fucking terrible so it was off to a bad start. Using grenades to teach the combat controls was a stupid idea. The whole thing felt really lame with the droning weeny-hut-juniors music playing in the background. There is a part where you have to burn some zombies with gasoline, I must've been doing something wrong because that took me more than 5 whole minutes to complete with how strange everything feels. When I FINALLY got into the actual game, I was actually enjoying it for the bugged up confused mess of a game it was. Gun play is fun, and the crazier weapons like the badger-on-a-stick or whatever are really entertaining to fuck shit up with. The game is a lot more linear than I expected, but whatever, I can deal with that. Long story short, Postal 3 can be enjoyable but it is still the worst game in the entire series. [editline]buttsauce[/editline] Final verdict: The game is not bad, it's just confused. It can be entertaining and enjoyable. If you can find it for 5 bucks or less, pick it up.
did RWS do the writing for Postal 3?
Yes, they did the writing for the game. The credits give writer credit to the late Bill Kunkel and script dialog to Steve Wik, designer at RWS since the original Postal. You can see the full credits list in the manual: http://cdn.steampowered.com/Manuals/10220/Postal%203%20User%20Manual.pdf Looking at this manual again, I see Mike Jaret is credited as the voice of Lloyd Kaufman. What's the dealio with that, yo?
So I went to the Mall on Wednesday, and I picked up all the doughnuts from the food court The Game bugged out and now I have 1192 doughnuts. I can safely take 3476 damage. I also stocked up on money. I got like 5k in cash now.
I just bought Postal 3 because I hate myself.
I bought it too. It's one of these things you can't resist to get, even when you know it's bad. But holy hell it takes forever to DL. Guess it's because of all games people are installing from christmas sales.
Looking at this manual again, I see Mike Jaret is credited as the voice of Lloyd Kaufman. What's the dealio with that, yo?
I would be surprised if it wasn't Lloyd Kaufman, you can ask that man to be in your shitty short movie shot on a webcam and he will do it.
Yes, it's true that Lloyd is very supportive of independent art and their creators, and I'm pretty sure Lloyd is familiar with Running With Scissors and Postal as he once stated that "Postal is [his] favorite game after Russian Roulette." Lloyd also supported Postal 2 (the movie, not the game). However, my confusion comes from the fact that Lloyd does not appear in Postal III in any shape or form. Anyway, here's some vintage Postal 2 fan art:

From what I've heard, it's not bad like Postal 2 in a "so bad it's good" way, it's just bad in a "boring who gives a shit" way, so I wouldn't recommend getting it, even ironically

Scissors is pretty much the only weapon I used almost entire game. Cutting people never gets old.
I it would work for a no-kills playtrough that you'd just chop off arms and legs.
I would be surprised if it wasn't Lloyd Kaufman, you can ask that man to be in your shitty short movie shot on a webcam and he will do it.
we had some issues with some peoples audio (uwe being one of them) and we had to use internal voices instead, i did do the scratch audio for lloyd so it might have made it into the final game....actually i dont even remember if the lloyd kaufman scenes made it into the final game at all lol
I'd love to send a picture of myself to Mikey, but last time I showed my face here, someone suggested I use steel wool to clean it.
pics please
pics please
The before or after?
playing a week in paradise in POSTAL mode for the achievement is fucking great
I'm going to do that because I want a picture of a dude getting assfucked in the achievement showcase box on my Steam profile.
The before or after?
both
The before or after?
both of course
aw man I fucking loved the first two Postal games. Haven't really played much of the third.
whoa whoa theres not a 3rd postal calm down there buddy
Was the mac version also updated?
I'm fresh out of my first try of Postal 3 and to be honest, the game isn't that bad. I expected to get something pretty boring, buggy and forgettable but I ended up having lots of fun. It's not as good as Postal 2 but it still keeps myself entertained, which is enough. There are 3 things I really dislike about Postal 3 though : No open world. The open city of paradise was the main essence of Postal 2 which allows you to do whatever you want. Postal 3 has small maps with constant objectives. No time and room for fun. 3rd person. The moving animations are pretty wonky and when you sprint, the camera moves like if there was a goddamn earthquake. The ranged weapons are fine and cover works well but it's nearly impossible to melee people. I don't get how it's not 1st person. The game even uses Source Engine, which is actually used for 1st person games. Source Engine. The engine itself is fine but cannot handle Postal 3 properly as the levels often end up being huge messes, full of people, props and stuff. Getting lots of FPS drops and sometimes crashes because of that. So yeah, I think Postal 3 is good. But it could've been way better. Bought it on an impulse, and as the Dude says : I regret nothing.
