Unless they're american MP's or something. They look like South Korean to me with the helmet design.
On a side note, does landing in a dedicated repair zone heal your pilot or passengers if they're wounded but not dead? I noticed I can revive the AI pilot/copilot and the blood cleans up.
American MPs wore Brassards (proper name for it) during the VN war
And now, after a month of pain, it's finally done!

This mod is pretty great! I like that the North Vietnamese aren't some amorphous blob, that can't decide if they want to be guerrilla fighters or an organized army, anymore. Were homemade Thompsons and M1911s really a thing for VC though? Not to mention the M1911 looks like it's been rusting in a ditch since 1911 :v:

Not in huge quantities but they were a thing indeed.
ForgottenWeapons even had a straight blowback one on the show, just to show the length vietnamese craftsmen would go

I updated my super awesome Toy soldier mod with a new map, actually working HUD and a fuckton of fixes, so if you could check it out I'd love you a bunch <3
Landing in Heli's is a pain. By the time I touch down I overflew my LZ.
Any tips? What I've recently started doing is dropping collective to zero, then holding S and either A and D to sumersault/flip the heli almost, performing a "J-turn" according to what some people have called it, effectively thrusting my heli into the ground to land.
While it DOES get me down, it's a crapshoot. Often I take some damage or the collision ends up killing huey passengers.
I swear there's been times where I have an entire squad in the back, I land (Before touching down I remind the crew to FUCKING GET OUT as soon as I land to try and prevent dumbasses from playing doorgunner after landing and getting themselves killed.) and the entirety of the guys in back die from me smacking down too hard, (Yet often I survive) and I'm just like "Ah fuck it!" and have to return to base because a skid popped off or I took some damage. Other times the rotor breaks on scenery and I rush out with the squad with my pistol (Hey, it ain't like I'm gonna wait for another pilot to pick me up) and get shredded by gunfire from enemies I can't even see.
Also, when is it a good idea to RTB for repairs? I'm often making quick stops (Especially in the loach) if I sustain ANY damage, including wounded (but not dead) pilot/copilot, damaged glass (vision is obscured) or component damage such as "Only" a yellow engine/rotor/tailrotor/tail. IMHO it's better to keep RTBing and keep topped up on repairs/rearming than have a component fail, as a red tailrotor makes flying EXTREMELY difficult (There's ways with certain collectives to try and stop spinning, etc. but you basically turn into a plane, once you stop momentum it's back to spinning) let alone landing, and a busted rotor/engine means you're going down.
Also, fuck the Cobra gunner's sight.

Can it be any MORE unintuitive?
EDIT: I will admit the pilot chatter always makes me laugh. "We got a little extra ventilation, but we're still flyable." "I just KNOW Charles is out there somewhere!"
I just wish some of them were heard by the rest of the pilot squad and commander, (IDK if it's clientside or serversided audio but it definitely comes from the helicopter itself) especially the ones about SAM sites being online. Would be helpful if the other pilots (and especially the commander) would get a heads up that they can't fly high or commander shouldn't deploy assets without me having to say it over the mic.
Honestly I experience no issues with flying these machines, they are wonderfully docile little personal artillery strikes.
Also, land sideways. Only RTB when you actually need to based on how your chopper is flying. Yellow means "damaged", and performance scales with how damaged it is. When it becomes red it is broken completely so just pay attention to how the chopper flies. Keep your RPM high by auto-rotating through hard turns and you can stay in the air forever.
Anyone know if any servers are gonna be running joe's mod 24/7?
The Aussie/NZ community has one, don't know for how long though.
Can you fold the stock on the MP40 in RS2 like the rest of the weapons with adjustable stocks?
Can you fold the stock on the MP40 in RS2 like the rest of the weapons with adjustable stocks?
No. It uses the animations from RO2, which had no stock folding. You could theoretically use the Type 56-1 animation, like how the K-50M uses the grease gun's animation instead of the PPSh's just to get the stock adjusting animations but it wouldn't look right at all on the MP40 because of how thin the magazines are in comparison and because the handguard is behind the magazine instead of in front.
Can you fold the stock on the MP40 in RS2 like the rest of the weapons with adjustable stocks?
all of the weapons in the mod use RO2 animations (save for the k-50m which recycles grease's) so that means most of the optional features are disabled
The plan is to add it in eventually, plus bayonets for the rifles.
Always upset me that I couldn't see weapon or character model in spectator view! why can't I see his weapon, and why is this still a thing, or am i rtrd3d
Apparently Bloodbath and a Finland server are going to be hosting an event for Joe's mod this weekend. I'll link the details when they post them.
Since nobody posted it. Update 1.06 for Rising Storm 2 is out.

Here is a brief summary with a minor description of most things.
Skirmish Mode changes
-Skirmish Mode-specific roles for each faction

Other changes/tweaks
-Match-end XP Bonus
-Commander(need LVL 25) and Squad Leader(need LVL 15) level requirements
-New Ingame Video Tutorials
-Gameplay(damage, hitzones, stamina, recoil, VC commander, MG overheating)
Levels
-Map rebalancing and performance improvements
-New Skirmish mode maps
-New Territories map
Audio
-Command channel added(usable for Commander, Squad Leaders, and Radiomen)
General Art
-Small additions, tweaks, and fixes to existing issues.
UI
-Added a server queue system for joining servers! Now, if you try to join a full server you will be placed into a queue, and will join when a slot become available.
-Quite a few more but I don't feel like listing everything.
More purchasable DLC described below:
-Man Down Under (AUS themed, access items early that can otherwise be gained through level progression)
-Uncle Ho's Heroes (VC themed, access items early that can otherwise be gained through level progression)
-Born in the USA(US themed, access items early that can otherwise be gained through level progression)
-Personalized Touch(46 new Hair, Facial, and Tattoo customizations)
Was wondering why my RS2 was updating like crazy yesterday, I played a game earlier and noticed the queue system
[editline]8th March 2018[/editline]
Also I managed to get the "Two Men Enter, One Man Leaves" achievement for "Safely land and exit a bushranger with a dead pilot or co-pilot (as either pilot or copilot)."
It was fucking mad, I was busy taking out enemy with the machine gun as the co pilot on op forest, a few moments later the pilots dead, and both rotors are damaged, the helicopter started bugging out and flying straight upwards, I was mashing keys until I took control of the heli, I flew it back to the base and tried 5 times to land it until I just dropped onto the floor in the base, breaking both the skids.
Managed to save myself and 3 other passengers from death, not bad considering the insane amounts of lag
Not really a fan that suppression is even more of a joke now but I do like that full-power rifles are less of a liability and that the overheating effects are reduced because they made shooting accurately after just a couple bursts a real struggle
Those commander and squad leader requirements would be great for RO2 as well
I wish the dirt was optional instead of rank based.

It would, but unfortunately:

:scream:
In retrospect it makes sense. Last update was what, 2014?
We should be seeing some of the improvements in RS2 brought over to RO2 when it gets ported over to the new engine. Hopefully.
I'm so vain, I really just want to play Wehraboo dress up.
That, and I really hope they give RS1 the same treatment too, I really miss banzai charges. Come to think of it, they may be the best melee mechanic that I've ever seen in an FPS.
I just want the content from the previous games forward ported to the newest one.
why can't i see weapons in spectator mode and why was it ever a thing in previous games? i want to admire the pretty gfx
always been like that. I think viewmodel state is not replicated at all
I still like RS1 but it's rare to find people playing it.
What servers do you guys play on? Played with another FPer by chance. I mostly try and stay on [40-1] Clan UK #1 RO2 Squad.
I usually try to play on the [40-1] Clan UK servers. Always had a good time on those in RO, RS and RS2.
RS2 I play on Bloodbath servers, usually the one with map voting. Tend to go by Contents Under Pressure or Mestari.

99% of the time I play radioman. Nobody else wants to do it, and if you can't shoot for shit, you can at least follow the commander around like an imprinted chicken and help turn the tide of battle without doing anything on my part.
My favorite thing is commander abilities that kill people using my radio end up giving me points, and if napalm ends up doing a team wipe or something, it ain't me!
Also whenever I play pilot, I warn the commander whenever SAMs are active, which people appreciate as it helps prevent wasted calldowns.
