Just cosmetic stuff.

This is awesome
Wow, that's really cool.
Anyone a heli expert? The following happened more times than I can count. Flying around the battlefield, making a turn on the edge and the ground comes closer and closer and closer. I'm slamming spacebar but to no avail. Hello crashes and I get a teamkill
I'm guessing you have collective at max while doing a sharp turn. Reduce collective to zero while doing sharp turns.
Ah could be, I'll try this
I played for the Free weekend. It was real hard seeing anything most of the time.
Everyone starts off like that, best you can do is keep your head down and stay behind hard cover until you learn the maps and positions. Eventually you'll go from cannon fodder to the cannon that makes fodder.
Or as someone on the subreddit once put it, Somewhere along the line you go from background extra in the scene to that incredibly violent Vietnam movie side character that collects fingers, teeth and scalps.
@SgtJoe On the Guadalcanal maps what is the unique roles Americans have that makes them only have Springfields?
There's a special set of Early War roles that have the EW designation. For example RSRoleInfoEWAlliedRifleman.
Hoo boy is Resort an awful map
I thought so! Do you know how to make custom roles? I know that's way more complicated but easier than making new weapons and stuff.
It's not complicated at all. Just extend and existing role and then override the weapons you want.
I recommend you join the RS2 Discord if you have questions, that's where everyone's at.
What do you mean, Resort is the best.

I mean, as long as you don't have shit pilots.
It's not down to shit pilots or not.
Tripwire, in their infinite wisdom, changed the boundary of the map so C and D are no longer within limits. So if your pilots don't land on A IMMEDIATELY, you're completely fucked because nva will swarm the beach and make any landing impossible.
Well, that's what I said.
Also the creator of Red Ridge is insufferable.
Played a match with him on his own map the other day and the guy absolutely refused to listen to any criticisms despite the map having some serious problems.
I can see Resort being awesome in idea, but the execution blows. Yeah, if the US gets good pilots and manages to land three choppers at once they have a chance but with even mediocre RPG guys and some MGs the NVA can absolutely dominate
There's a map with a similar idea that seems based on the battle that inspired We Were Soldiers that works a lot better because the attackers actually have options on how to approach the initial objectives
I like the idea of Resort but hate playing it on the US attacking side. Get good pilots and it should be fine but most of the time it's really dull to play as both sides (especially if you don't get the RPG, MGs or MG class).

So, I might be late with this, but the ARVN update had this in its files. Fully rigged, with untextured interior. I guess we're getting some ground vehicles soon... or not.
I miss the old suppression system from the previous game, because Vietnam's just hurts my eyes
Rising Storm 2
Question: Are additional vehicles coming, either helicopter or land based, such as the M113 APC?
Alan: The focus from here will be on land-based vehicles, really. But that is still a way off - a good bit of work to be done there.
Adam: In terms of vehicles, M113 APC is next. After that we look into early/late war support and combat vehicles for the North Vietnamese.
Oh, fuck, I've completely missed that.
To be fair RS2's suppression actually does a good job of making me feel actually suppressed, as in it makes me feel like I can't retaliate as effectively making me wait the suppression dissipates (which most games fail at because I'll just shoot back anyway).
Think they'll add the Vietnamese tanks?
nothing but net

Old suppression system really didn't affect me. It was still easy to land shots on distant targets compared to how it is in RS2.
I doubt we'll seeing any heavy armor. At most we'll probably see a PT-76 or Ontos.
I always liked the AT rifle and satchel dynamic of fighting tanks in RO2 though.
it was neato fighting tanks with very little honestly, but yeah no the tank v tank physics were strange.
ive seen evidence that tanks have very specific things you can destroy to hinder abilities of tanks but have never personally gotten a shot that did anything like that
not to mention the absolutely countless shots that did penetrate armor but did basically nothing
it really felt like no shots i made had much feedback, it was neat to see bounced or nonpen shells fall off the tank a bit but imo the tanks were more of a visual and support thing than anything else.
basically the guns themselves had no real punch and i just felt like it was entirely rng whether or not you really did anything, ive fired quite a few shots at engines that did about fuck all, really.
i got pretty ok at tank combat but it was always off compared to other games that featured realistic or semi realistic tank combat.
