Well, not really. All I did was place a spawn point and edit the roles.
All the real magic was done by Sandor "Szeder" Sebastian, a member of the original 2011 mod team. Bless that man.
Still, damned cool.
Dang right. And it even comes with the Type 3!

You don't even need to do any editing, just type "loaded" into the console.
Anyway, I'm not going to spam the thread, so if you're interested in further updates follow this thread over here.
Watching Fury is making me want to play some sort of WW2 game so I'll return to RO2. Probably play some tanks but I know it will end in frustration :v:
they should stop trying to make it cod and let it be how it is. that is why i love battlefield, that great feeling you get when you take down a tank by yourself.
Then they should balance it better by adding better AT weapons, tank upgrades, different tank versions depending on your level etc... It's literally impossible to take down a tank with that pathethic AT gun. At least not in one go, and when you are the only AT gunner on your team and the enemy tank has more than 50+ kills and is placed at a spot where it's impossible to flank or go anywhere near to, the whole game becomes extremely frustrating. Pavlov's house comes to my mind, but so does Bridges of Druzhina where the tank usually just stays back and keeps firing from behind the enemy lines and the only way to take it out is to use artillery.
How do I download your tank thing?

If you start doing damage to the brakes/treads using the rifle you can sometimes panic them into moving, and use that window to move up. Most tanks either get distracted looking for you or change position. It's also a big help if you can borrow someone's smoke grenade. The AT rifle is for harassment at best, but you can throw an AT grenade almost 20m, and much further from atop a structure. Satchels are also amazing. You only have to land one near enough the tank to destroy/disable it. The rest is sneaking.
Apparently if you kill someone else and yourself in the same explosion, you get +1 Team: Suicide Kill, and no reinforcement tickets are removed.
I had no idea that was a thing when playing as the Japanese. Pretty neat.

When I have an AT rifle, I usually aim for the tracks to try to immobilize the tank which makes destroying it with AT grenades or satchels easier.
Sneaking up on tanks as an engineer is one of my favorite things to do.
When I have an AT rifle, I usually aim for the tracks to try to immobilize the tank which makes destroying it with AT grenades or satchels easier.
TBH I feel that trying to disable it with the PTRS-41 is way too risky and takes too much effort and learning for little payoff. AT grenades and satchel charges are much more reliable, easier to learn, and let you destroy a tank with stealth instead of alerting the tank unlike the PTRS-41 (not all the time, but you can take them down without them going completely nuts on you with some effort).
My MO as an anti-tank soldier is to snipe humans with the PTRS-41 until a tank arrives, drop the PTRS-41 so I can run much faster, ninja up to the tank, and blow it up with AT grenades. I then restock my grenades and slink around with a Nagant Revolver or a German pistol and pick off unsuspecting enemies at close quarters until another tank arrives.
And that's another thing. The AT rifle is utter garbage. You need to be 100% precise and know exactly what tiny spots to hit, otherwise it does absolutely nothing.
I dumped my entire ammo supply into the rear of the treads, didn't do a thing. That's 6 clips, 30+ rounds of armor-piercing shells directly into the main drive sprocket. Not a scratch.
On another tank, I aimed for the magic spot at the very bottom center, it blew up instantly.
Absolutely terrible.
Only time I ever get to play Engineer is on Bridges. And fuck me if I can ever sneak up on the tank in that

Speaking of engineers and open spaces, would be nice if engineers had the choice of a rifle or SMG. You know?

You do unlock a Walther Gewehr 41 or a SVT-40 as Engineer once you hit Veteran rank.
It's handy as fuck to use on the more open maps like Bridges, Red October Factory and Arad, as you can now snipe off some enemies while waiting for a Tank to show up.
Although picking up someone's Mauser Karbiner 98 or Moisin-Nagant M1891 would do the same job with more accuracy, but without the semi-auto capabilities.
I was really stoked when I unlocked the rifles for engineer. The G41 is my favorite weapon in game.

Not necessarily my favorite, though would be nice if dropping a Kar98K while having a G41 gave you the stripper clips from the Kar98K, which would, you know, also make sense seeing as how that's how they were designed.

I liked that system better because it'd make things like this possible.

yeah but it also meant you had to pick up all your ammo too if you had your gun shot out of your hands.
yeah but it also meant you had to pick up all your ammo too if you had your gun shot out of your hands.
I'd attribute that to a Tripwireism. No-one would make that happen by design.
I've been playing RO2 in my laptop a lot while my main computer was borked, and I got some good stuff.
So I got 45 kills on Commissar's House, and this happened.

Unfortunately it got reset when the map changed, even though it was a ranked server.
It keeps happening
Seriously, why did they disable ranking for tank classes? I just don't get it.
Here's a cool thing: if you pick a class then choose "Spectate <other team>" in the seven seconds before a round starts, you'll give your class, rank, and weapons to a bot.

Also, speaking of glitchy bots:

No weapons, unkillable, yet still counts as a person inside the cap zone. This game is so filled with these random obscure bugs it's just terrible.

playing RO2 with russians is a gud experience
CYKA BLYAT!
1 in 3 words is blyat
I'm glad that Tripwire implemented a universal name indicator for Russians, the # symbol.
Man, I guess Im the only one who gives a shit about this game. The last sale was pretty good, alot of new guys, is nice when they hear what you have to say instead of being cannon fodder.
Also the lvl 50 Type 99 is hands down the best weapon in the game is so damn sweet

You know when it is a sale allright when the rookies keep running into the arty of their own team despite no less than four experienced people on the mic telling them to wait until the arty is over.
Other than that, the rookies seem to be pretty quick learners so far.
Also, Type 38 > Type 99.

Is the 38 black one? I always get them mix up
I still love the BAR. If I have to play as the Americans in the Heroes of the Western Front mod, it's a runner up to the MkB/ StG44, call me silly but it's got it's advantages.
Those being; sustainable full-auto, twenty round fairly quick to change magazine, a bipod if you want to go like that ( you really don't need to though ) full auto and slow which you can just tap melee with the BAR to basically single fire.

tbh the BAR is flat out OP. With it you basically fill the role of assault, machine gunner, and sniper all in one gun. God save the other team if you have the foregrip

True. I don't know how less would be expected though, JMB made it. He made ALL the modern guns first...
