IC has repeatedly stated they're completely separate from Tripwire. Yet after that statement they went completely dark again. I absolutely hate that, the not knowing if they're dead or running smoothly or already released or what. Those guys are utterly terrible at PR.
And we know literally nothing about RS2 aside the fact that it exists. I won't count on it being released in the next year minimum.
That's why I'm ignoring both IC and RS2 for now. Both are so far away it won't make any impact on current events.
I really like the sounds the M1 Garand uses in the Immersion Overhaul Mod. Are they public domain for the firing sound?

In Country vietnam sounds more of a joke now that RS2 is coming. I mean it has been in development for i don't even know how long, probably since RO2 was released and now Tripwire is making a game just like it. I don't understand why they won't merge or something. It sounds just as dead as Festung Europa.
Well I mean it's not like Tripwire has a good track record in terms of development time considering it took 4~ months for a KF2 update

Too bad that mod is dead, had some really great times.
I'm still working on my game. Got a textured M2 Carbine a few days ago, starting on animating now. Animating is hard. XP I'd offer to send you it but, it would look so out of place. I also don't know if my texture artist would be okay with it.

There's one thing that I've always wanted in RO, since the very begging of the series. It's something that would eternalize RO2, prevent its death as soon as players move on to other game completely - it already has been dwindling for a long time.
The thing I'm talking about is something in the likes of "Instant Action" like in Battlefront II. There are several reasons for this. One thing is that you being the only player, or one of the few players in the midst of a bot majority means that your actions matter more. You are more in control of the game, you're not just a 3:1 k/d ratio statistic, you're either a very effective weapon or in fact the commander behind your whole team, who will listen to you, since they're mostly bots.
Another upside, is how this would make a fun game require only a handful of players, if you've played Battlefront you probably remember how a 4v4 game feels. Every players actions have a major impact on the game. You're plotting against what the players - the heroes - do, and what they order their bots to do. You feel amazing for massively murdering the other sides bots, and you're looking forward to meeting their "boss" in combat. And yet, the bots are not just meat for the grinder, if a player commands them right, they can and will overrun you. Even without a player behind them, you can't just rush them and expect not to die.
The funny thing is, that this is proven to work, as it is kind of in the game right now. Servers often fill up to a small number of players and big number of bots. That, and my fond memories of battlefront 2 are what made me wish for this. The problem is that the bots are incredibly stupid, and obviously designed for player "placeholders", which comes with its fair share of issues. If that weren't the case, and if on top of that the concept of "hero" players and "ambient" bots would be expanded upon, imagine how much fun there would be to have.
It's a shame that support for the game has been dropped, and we're probably never going to see this implemented officially. I wonder how doable this would be for a modder though. In essence, let's scratch expanding upon the concept, let's set our expectations accordingly. All that would be needed, is a non-broken bot AI, and perhaps an option to play it Solo/cap the player number, if you wish for that. I have no idea how hard it's to program AI in a fps game. Still, a man can dream huh

Did you make your own model? Or do you plan on using mine if I make it and send you it?
I just recolored the Garand. The whole point is symmetry, so it'll have 8 shots instead of 10 like the IRL version.

My Lunge mine? You guys still can re-use my stuff, I'd need to check with my texture artist if he is okay with me sending the textured versions. I've even had the M2 Carbine, which is like the M1 Carbine except even more OP. Also, have you considered adding Australians to the Pacific? They'd be somewhat more balanced against the Japanese.

Australians are just the British with a different hat. Here's the deal: I finally found a tutorial on mapping, in two weeks I'll start on my first map. It'll have the British vs Japanese.

You know, I tried to make mapping for the Heroes of the West mod, but I kept getting candy colored terrain after applying too many textures. A darn shame, I made this like bridge map where you had to fight to get across the other side to the Germans.
Also, don't the Australians have some custom things? Like the SMLE and that? I know they were given Garands, but enough to replace all their rifles?
