I always thought a mod where you could play as every faction would be chaotic and fun in this game.
Japanese/Germans vs Russia/USA, or even like a super goofy FFA gamemode. I dunno, sounds like it could be fun.
Speaking of guns, any interest in making an M2HB available for the Americans at all? I started modeling one today. I have most of it done. Except for textures mind you, which isn't my department.

The characters were made by my friend Postamenos, who unfortunately quit RO2 a long time ago.
I'd love to do custom weapons but unfortunately the way the system is set up it's just too much bullshit to deal with properly.

Why did the modding community for this game never really take off? The old Red Orchestra had way more custom maps.

getting anything done and imported is a hassle, given the tools we have to work with

Of course I did.
For this mod I'm going to be using a shitton of content from other games. I asked Yoshiro about it, he didn't quite approve but didn't outright prohibit it either. So I'll have to do everything under the table.
I really do wish I could make everything myself from scratch, but unfortunately I can't make jack shit and this community has literally zero artists ever since Post left.

Not really, importing stuff is really easy. Actually having something to import in the first place is the hard part as I've stated above.
How good are the mod tools compared to something like hammer? I'm just curious.

If you know how to port models into a format that RO2 will accept, you could try and take models off of FPSBanana or something (with the author's permission of course).

RO2 is an UE3 game, thus PSA / PSK files will work

That's true. You need a very specific skeleton, otherwise everything will get all twisted up.
I made myself a template so I can add models to it really fast, if anyone wants it feel free to ask. (Blender only though)

90% done. All that's left is just some misc art like morale and objective icons.
All weapons have been replaced, with working kill icons, ammo icons, and names.
That an actual Enfield or just a renamed mosin?
All of them are just renamed RO2/RS weapons, anything else is simply impossible.

I grabbed it. I LOVE the G43. Shame you can't use stripper clips from Kar98K for, same with Mosin-Nagant and SVT-40.

When the 1945 African Theater mod Desert Rats disbanded, I decided to use their content to create a spiritual successor that instead of bringing the British to the scorching deserts, brings the British and Australians to the humid jungles of the Pacific.
This is a total conversion mod - all US content is completely replaced. Weapons, HUD, UI, etc. The only placeholder content is the weapon models and sounds, but unfortunately I can't do anything about that.
If you:
- Know how to make models/textures
- Are British/Australian/Japanese and have a microphone
- Know how to make maps in Unreal 3

You know, I have a Sten gun about finished you could use. I just need to finish the ironsights. The scale I made it in is one unit in program is a meter. Do you want it?
It'll be difficult to figure out animations for it, but sure. And scale's no problem, that can always be adjusted.
God I love how chaotic matches can get, as we're down to 0 tickets and holding up in a building, our last machine gunner starts running out of ammo, so I toss him my spare SMG and go down to get some. Turns out, floor below us, two riflemen were holding out and didn't know we were there, so he yells at me to get in, and I tell him that the gunner needs ammo. He runs upstairs and somehow bayonets a friendly soldier to death. Following that, a squad of russians start breaching the place and the match ends.
