no, garand is not better
Enfield for life

It does have two more rounds. I think the one in the Singapore mod is better.

That's because I made the bolt cycle and reload speed realistic.

The original AMG animations for it were so slow it was physically painful to sit through.

I wish you could cycle that fast in the Singapore mod. That'd be too fast though I guess.
I can't make it any faster without manually remaking the animset. If I make the scale any higher it starts to break. :v:

you'll never be firing it that fast under normal conditions anyways
the number of technical failures should be enough testimony
Kinda curious, how's the SMLE faster than the other bolt-actions?
The Lee–Enfield rifle was derived from the earlier Lee–Metford, a mechanically similar black-powder rifle, which combined James Paris Lee's rear-locking bolt system with a barrel featuring rifling designed by William Ellis Metford. The Lee action cocked the striker on the closing stroke of the bolt, making the initial opening much faster and easier compared to the "cock on opening" (i.e., the firing pin cocks upon opening the bolt) of the Mauser Gewehr 98 design.
Basically because the bolt handle is directly above the trigger, making it quicker and easier to access, and you cock (resetting the striker spring) on close instead of open, which requires less effort from you to open the bolt and extract a round. You close the bolt by slamming it back down anyway, so you don't think about the effort it takes to cock on close.

As lilguy said, bolt pretty much springs up while with other rifles you sort of have to force it up more, and you have to slam it closed while with other rifles closing it is smoother.
But that doesn't really matter because you've already got the momentum going from moving the bolt forward to close it down.
I've got a Lee Enfield, a Mosin and a rifle with a Mauser action and I can safely say that the Lee Enfield bolt is perhaps the nicest out of all of them.
As far as in-game weapons go I still prefer the Mosin, Springfield, and K98 all to the Enfield.
It's not "Red Orchestra" related but still...

Anyone wants to try it out?
The Type 38 is my wizard's staff.

Might as well be, given how freaking long it is with bayonet.

I know! What were they thinking? It's way too long for jungle warfare, and especially way too long for the height most people were back then.

You basically get given a Lee Enfield when you get your gun licence in Australia. Every man and his dog has one.
I've had a No.4 MK1 for about 5 or 6 years and I agree, smoothest bolt there is.
lots of alcohol had to be involved for this whole robodog deal

Oh shit wrong thread.
On the topic of RO2, give the Heroes of the West mod a try, it's pretty fucking awesome. I give it an 8.5/10 PTSD rating

The VOs worked super hard on it. I'm actually glad it got released, after all the effort they deserve all the success they can get

Heavy emphasis on bayonet drills IIRC and possibly a holdover for anti-cavalry purposes, which basically turned the rifle into a spear. Useful against the Chinese, Russians, and Mongols pre-World War II, but not so much defending their island footholds against American invaders.
Largely, the Type 38 was a leftover rifle from previous wars.
The Type 99 was more powerful, smaller, and overall outclassed the Type 38. The problem was that they didn't have enough time before the Pacific War broke out to give one to everybody.
In RS though I love using it mostly because of it's weapon length and fire rate. And I like the iron-sights on it a lot too.
Always liked the Type 38 better.
Yeah, the sights on the Type 99 have the same problem as the M1 Garand and Carbine. Although the 99 is at least somewhat useable as opposed to the M1s.

Does the Type 38 have less muzzle flash in game? I'm literally only on the receiving end of it 5% of the time, so I can't tell. All I know is that it's a bit more accurate and less damaging in game.
Man this game has great consistent performance! :vs:
After upgrading my graphics card and overclocking, my framerate literally turned to shit. I can't get higher than 60 on high settings. Is this normal?
Which is weird, as I got consistent 90fps before I upgraded.

Did you by any chance tweak your roengine config earlier and reset it by accident? As far as consistency goes, I don't find the game to be consistent with its performance either.

Naw man, the game's just poorly optimized. I get like 120 fps on medium settings, so i'll keep it there.
Yoshiro posted some more shots of RS2 content today.

I like the menu and the new guns are awesome, although I don't like how the reload takes practically less than a second.
Hopefully the MAT-49 is just kinda shit and the quick ass reload time is supposed to be the balancing factor

It is an SMG for one, so that's one reason why.
I hate that mag slap tbh
jesus christ it takes way too long to level up honor
All I want is the M1919 as the Japanese, but I still have 24 levels to go
