It's still in early Alpha, so it could just be that the NVA models haven't been put in yet.

Given the M60 is using the BAR(I think) sounds yeah it's still alpha. They've only just gotten into bulking up the maps.

There's a shitload of placeholder stuff at the moment that I noticed. The VC use the japanese screaming-while-they-burn voice lines, the M79 and RPG use the knee mortar icon for ammo, the M14 has the M1 Garand sound, etc

Agreed. Kind of makes me worry seeing as they said they've been developing this for a year and a half and it's supposed to come out later this year. Not very far ahead.

You do know Art assets are usually what comes very late in a game's development right? Also press builds are always outdated for stability reasons.
The british in Heroes of the west could use some balancing.
The bren gun is fucking horrible, can't see shit with it.
Same goes for the Lee Enfield
The PIAT is useless as ever, you have to use deploy to use it and it's just pure shit. There are also no armored vehicles so it's useless. If anything they should just get the Boys AT if or when armored vehicles come in.
Where is the scoped lee enfield?
Where is the lewis gun?
They should also have an M1 Garand IMO. At least for the squad leader.

Nope, that trap was featured in the demo I played at PAX. Those arent Punji sticks, they are the stakes for the tripwire attached to the grenade.
It works similarly to the grenade trap the Japanese currently have, but instead of shoving the grenade into the dirt, you shove the two stakes into the dirt and it draws a tripwire between them, and walking through the wire sets the grenade off. Teammates cannot set the tripwire off, thankfully :v:

Anyone else think the bots in the game are a waste of dev time? They really don't emulate how players play the game and what the actual 32v32 or 8v8 player experience is like.
That and they seem to be RNG aimbots with the sole purpose of providing a terrible singelplayer and a quick way to grind levels in multiplayer.

There are two kinds of bots in Red Orchestra II:
CommieBots, which run into the same damned place and just sit their with their pants around their ankles waiting for you to shoot them.
and
UberBots, who wait in spawn and have their sights perfectly trained on your head, waiting for you to inhale bullets.
Yup. I had CommieBots in that position pictured above, and I had an Anti-Tank rifle.
Needless to say, 8 bots with one .57 caliber bullet causes some hilarious ragdoll physics to occur.

Also real quick complaint about anti tank guns. Why the fuck does a .57 caliber gun that supposedly should fire at the "muzzle velocity of 1013 m/s", have it's projectile in-game fly slower than a 5 year old tossing a rock?
Fuck I have to lead my shots heavily to shoot infantry and tanks on the move.
Biggest complaint with the AT Rifle and the Tank physics overall is just how RNG it is. Rarely, if ever, do tanks work like they do IRL when it comes to armor-on-armor fighting.
I can't tell you how many times I should have rear penn'd a Panzer IV only to have it turn around and one-shot me through my front armor
I haven't succeeded in taking out a tank with an AT rifle yet. You have to be so fucking pinpoint accurate otherwise you can waste all your mags and do no damage to the tank.

When your playing as an american, does anyone ever just drop all their guns when they find a katana, and just try to survive killing the enemy only with the sword?
I just got like a 5 player kill streak with one. It's too fun.

Plant a booby trap and then drop a Katana on top of it.

My favorite moment ever was getting into a katana duel as an American against a Japanese officer after stealth killing several riflemen inside Gaudalcanal point C. We were circling each other when he suddenly lunged at me and I sprinted sideways to evade and slashed him in the back of the head; earning the achievement. Then I got lit on fire by our flamer because he was trying to burn out the bunker.
How the fuck did I miss when Heroes of the West came out? Hope people still play it by now.

Lad, Lee Enfield is the best bolt action rifle out of all of the bolt action rifles in the game.
