It does make team communication though a lot more important which I like. Like how sometimes letting the opposing team take Apartments without resisting much can be used to save manpower.

On some serious servers, many people communicate and adapt their strategies to fit their manpower. Just like it's supposed to be.
i wish i played with teams like those
We should seriously consider starting a discord server once the beta starts.
In all my years playing I have only won twice as the allies on the most popular campaign servers. It seems that all the players who just want to dick around and do stupid shit stack allies and the axis team is filled with team players who communicate and form tactics.

I've never won as the axis on campaign for RS. We've gotten to the last fucking map and we end up getting pushed back to the start.
On RS rarely see Allies win, on RO2 it can go either way.
Weird, Allies have superior weapons yet all it takes is a few good guys with mortars to really fuck em up.

Not only mortars, but also banzai charges which make the Japanese pretty much invincible to most forms of attack.
They did it, they actually did it, those madmen! They made flyable helicopters!

All I can say is, it's going to be interesting to see how this works out.
Does this mean we'll be getting huge maps a la Battlefield?
It's also interesting to note:
the VC, on the other hand, bolt through tunnels—both actual tunnels built into the map and ‘spawn tunnels’ which squad commanders can dig, and which act as mobile spawn points the Americans are forced to hunt and destroy.
Hopefully they will be pretty realistic to control to prevent people from getting arcadey and killing entire teams.
The commander will then wait for VC sneak attacks to call in artillery or napalm or an AC-47 Spooky
IIRC Battlefield Vietnam had the exact same thing, with VC engineers carrying shovels for the same purpose
Honestly that article makes VC sound pretty fun to play, with all the stealth and cunning required.

I really hope they up the ante on the asymmetric aspect of the war
The word ‘balance’ is so often lobbed into discussions about game design as if it’s a single, incontrovertible idea. Antimatter does want to achieve a roughly 50/50 win-loss ratio for each side on each map, but it’s balancing the sides in terms of interesting tactics and maneuvers, not pure parity.
I think it's safe to say that they are.
Also really glad to see that the VC aren't just black pajamas and are a variety of outfits including what appears to be pieces of NVA uniform
Now I wish I went to Pax. Fuck, I just want to play this game man, it sounds incredible!
I hope servers take strong actions to get rid of people that screws with the helicopters.

We all know damned well for the first couple weeks of the game being up it's going to be kamikazes in the middle of spawn
While not meant to be hyper-accurate flight simulations, the helicopters are certainly trickier to control than they are in the Battlefield series, and as they take damage they become even harder to keep upright.
I wonder if helicopters will be constantly crashing on takeoff during the first few weeks of the game
Can't wait to play as VC.
I hope we can get some ground-based vehicles as well. Being able to run a Jeep or a UAZ through with an MG on the back could really help with clearing out positions, as well as drag some lazy-asses to the front every once and a while

I'd really like to see the M113 ACAV in the game.

Don't see why they wouldn't include at least some ground vehicles in the game, if they're including choppers flying about.
You know, I can't remember the last time a fully focused vietnam game came out. Maybe shellshock back in like 03.
I hope dice makes a bf vietnam 2 with frostbite 3.
