I just had the most amazing campaign as Japanese. Everybody just kept banzaing. And it kept working. We won.
The fucking Spooky needs this song blaring whenever it arrives: my fucking jam man Oh yeah, and if any of you guys still wanna get in, feel free to contact me. [editline]28th October 2016[/editline]
Might as well retoast this here: [t]http://puu.sh/rBJaN/3c3944a2a0.png[/t] I'm making a PBR for my very first model, and I had some ideas for light variety, particularly flags. Any thoughts?
You should have a Confederate battle flag. US Soldiers wave it around quiet a bit, and it was quiet popular in Vietnam. So uhhh Darkest Hour apparently updated this last sunday and reintroduced the Ostfront. I guess the indie game they were working on fell through. http://darkesthour.darklightgames.com/public-relations/change-logs/v7.1.0.pdf Posting this here because I guessed some people still give a shit about the original Red Orchestra/Darkest Hour. I still think the tank combat in Darkest Hour/Red Orchestra 1 is eons better than RO2. I kind of wish somebody would make a tank simulator with game-play similar to Darkest Hour even if everything else about the game has not aged well at all.
First wave of closed beta keys went out.
It's a rough beta but RS2 is pretty fun. The modernized era works quite well for RO it seems.
The lack of combat noises and the overly loud TTS makes the game kinda disorienting at the moment.
I am sad that I was not part of the first wave *stares at every single TW game (which is all of them) I own and the number of hours I poured into* yeah I know it's just random blah blah
Ok im really excited for the character customization. Its one of the things i always wanted in ro2 and rs
wifebeater with messed up pants a red headband and some badass mustaches is a pretty funky looking combo
Cant wait for the US team to be nonstop Big Bosses and Frank Woods :v:
Holy shit yes shirtless and bandanas Now I can be machine gunner with the M60 and literally rambo my way through Guarantee first day buy
What does the other team have to one up the americans helicopters and air strikes?
What does the other team have to one up the americans helicopters and air strikes?
tunnels and traps I think.
What does the other team have to one up the americans helicopters and air strikes?
Helicopters can be knocked out with DsHKs and RPGs. RPGs take a bit of skill, but once you master it, its pretty easy to knock out helicopter pilots which try to engage to closely.
Hitting an attack heli out of the sky with the rpg feels so good too.
Hitting an attack heli out of the sky with the rpg feels so good too.
First time I spawned with an RPG I fired it over some water to test it out, only for a Huey to fly into it and explode. It was glorious.
American TL feels so much better to play than RO2. Each thing has individual cooldowns, so you can hammer a place with arty, then suppress the place with a spooky, and then finally call in napalm to kill reinforcements trying to get the point back.
Welcome to the Rice Fields, motherfucker. [t]http://i.imgur.com/SrB6PNb.jpg[/t] Also, He's coming too? [t]http://i.imgur.com/mMzXzWa.jpg[/t]
What does the other team have to one up the americans helicopters and air strikes?
First off, traps! There's so many fucking traps. If you don't pay attention, you'll be stepping on a landmine, or tripping a grenade on a stick, or sticking your feet into punjis.. it's really not fun The tunnel networks are rather extensive, providing great cover from airstrikes and preventing the Southern factions (currently USMC / US Army) from using their primary weapons and the ammo caches found there while inside - making the matchup go greatly in favor of the VC/NVA As someone else said, you can take out helos with the DSHK (mounted MG) or the RPG - the NVA (not sure if the VC do) also get SAMs that target anything flying above 75m The vietnamese can also evade a recon plane by sitting still, crouching (or proning) and not firing their weapon
In some areas, US troops are also prevented from using their primaries in trenches, which really dampens their assaults since they cant shoot from cover there effectively.
Any word on an open beta date?
In some areas, US troops are also prevented from using their primaries in trenches, which really dampens their assaults since they cant shoot from cover there effectively.
That sounds like a bug
That sounds like a bug
There's several map issues at this point. The maps have been changed quite regularly, the devs aren't looking at reports of the minor details yet, just the overall flow of how the map plays.
Does the beta at least run good? RO2 and RS run like shit on my PC, even when they're well above recommended specs
That sounds like a bug
It's not, it specifically tells you that you can't use your primary there. It kinda makes sense, you would have a lot of trouble actually using a long rifle in a tiny tunnel realistically. I'm pretty sure in RL, most tunnel clearing in Vietnam was done with pistols or other small weapons.
Or fire.

Little map bugs like that are lower priority compared to the performance related ones.
the gameplay videos concern me its going to be RO2 all over again with the en mass sprinting into objectives under smoke with some faggot screaming "dont worry about deaths just get on the cap!" over and over RO2 is one of the least strategic games I've ever played.

In Cu Chi, Americans attacking and the NLF (VC) defending, you will die repeatedly if you charge into the capture point. Spike traps, tripwire bombs and mines are so much fun to use. (Sapper is god, they use a PPSH (or SKS if you're a terrible person) and mines)
