I have about 270 hours in RO2/RS and both I have soldiers in like lvls 90. Isn't that rush tactic used... in both games? Maybe if you have a good commander and actually soften the objective with a arty strike then SL toss some smoke the shitty riflemans and assaults run in while MG provides some sort of suppression?

I feel like game developers should just flog project reality's Advance And Secure system. [editline]21st November 2016[/editline] it doesnt help that the squad systems in RO2 are very poor so it never feels like there is anything cohesive going on.
the gameplay videos concern me its going to be RO2 all over again with the en mass sprinting into objectives under smoke with some faggot screaming "dont worry about deaths just get on the cap!" over and over RO2 is one of the least strategic games I've ever played.
Probably because RO2 is more about tactics than stratergy. The faggit screaming about deaths is still going to be there because on a strategic level, dumping bodies into the capzone is a better plan than getting picked off one by one. Supremacy is a pretty strategic mode too
Closed Beta servers will be down for two weeks.
Can I get some example of these strategies? I'm not even joking or trying to be an ass. I legit never picked up on anything of my 270 hours of play :v: The only kinda teamwork I've really have noticed since it's talked through the mic constantly is "SL check your map and mark targets recon coming", "that's a good mark SL, calling arty on yours", "one more salvo and everyone goes over", "tossing smoke, gogogogo" "stay where you are SL1, that's a perfect spawn" "MG here, sniper get him" "enemy tank over at X" *cue like 2-3 engineers running up to the tank while someone tosses smoke in the tanks face to get satchels on it* Other then those, when it all comes down to infranty plays, it all to me just falls under the same strat of "smoke and rush"

I even said RO2 was more about tactics than strategery [editline]21st November 2016[/editline] What kind of "strategy" would you like to see in a platoon(?) sized infantry combat game?
Hmm, I misunderstood you, I kinda assumed that you said there's a difference in tactics/strats between RO2 and RS and I was confused as to what the difference since both of the games seem to play the same to me, with the exception of a banzai charge, that's the only thing I can think of. Well that's cleared up.
That's all more tactical stuff tho? I even said RO2 was more about tactics than strategery [editline]21st November 2016[/editline] What kind of "strategy" would you like to see in a platoon(?) sized infantry combat game?
the words tactical and strategy are being used interchangeably, dont get caught up in the semantics of their definitions Mainly I think the issue is that RO2 games are incredibly disjointed and almost no coordinated gameplay goes on whatsoever, and the design is such that rushing is the most reliable way of winning a game. Project Reality is still easily the best teamplay and tactical gameplay ive found in any game ever, and it works largely because the squad system is simple and efficient, and avoids the rush syndrome for the most part by virtue of its capture design.
I stopped playing RO2 because it's impossible to navigate as a squad. The only effective way to play is to just throw everything and everyone you have on your team on to a single objective and hope that you breach the enemy team's security. there's no "strategy" to it PR and squad works effectively I think due to the long respawn time coupled with the time it takes to make it back to the objective if your spawn points aren't close by in conjunction with a more robust role system. if you are defending an objective but lose a lot of defenders, you're pretty much shit out of luck if your medics can't get them up in time since the enemy will really start to bottleneck you until they overwhelm what's left of your group. it works pretty much the same in RO except you're constantly spawning on your squad leader and the objectives are like 100 feet away whereas in PR they're like half a mile
To be honest due to the time limit you really have to rush especially on bigger maps with a lot of caps if you spend more than 10-15 minutes trying to take a cap you pretty much lost already because the time will run out. Doesnt matter if you still have hundreds of tickets. This is especially true at myshkova river. Its also why you cant just fall back and let the defenders make a move.
Are there bots in the beta? Are they as atrocious as RO2's?
Are there bots in the beta? Are they as atrocious as RO2's?
The team has said they have no plans to support bots in RS2, although they did occasionally appear at random on the alpha server when the teams were imbalanced (and couldn't even navigate out of the spawn)
The bots are still in, they're just not officially supported. They work perfectly on some maps, and can't get out of spawn on others.
The bots are still in, they're just not officially supported. They work perfectly on some maps, and can't get out of spawn on others.
Perfectly? As in miles better than RO2/RS?
Perfectly? As in miles better than RO2/RS?
...no? they can navigate the map and shoot
Perfectly? As in miles better than RO2/RS?
AFAIK they are pretty much the same bots from RO2, which is why they work on TE maps and don't know what to do on others. Like Joe said, they aren't officially supported or being improved to work with the stuff RS2 has. [editline]22nd November 2016[/editline]
So any videos now are okay or only specific ones?
Gameplay videos? Y'know stuff about the game. That pretty much means gameplay, videos of in game stuff, playing the game. Not sure how to be any clearer, [del]there's not any restrictions I know of since they were lifted.[/del]

Alpha testers are the best testers [editline]22nd November 2016[/editline] Especially the ones from fp

Makes cooping basically impossible.
whens the next beta comming?
whens the next beta comming?
will take another week at the very least
is it still possible to sign up?
sight misalignment looks like a welcome change and a much needed one since tripwire refused to listen to people about how ridiculously easy aiming was in RO2.
sight misalignment looks like a welcome change and a much needed one since tripwire refused to listen to people about how ridiculously easy aiming was in RO2.
Sight misalignment allows you to get a good feel of recoil without having over the top muzzle climb Going back to RO2 was really difficult after 40 hours in the beta
