Yeah RO2 was my favorite game up until the alpha/beta
I didn't really expect to like the misaligned function weapons much, but the Riot Shotgun quickly won my heart in the time that I played.

So I guess that means snipers can be relevant again? It was extremely easy for a regular rifleman to out snipe/counter snipe a sniper in RO2.

Helps that all snipers have a close quarters aiming mode.
Getting an accurate first shot isn't impossible, but unless your enemy tapfires he's not going to be able to reliably hit you, though hey - they might still get lucky
The customization is a neat option IMO
Customization has been pretty much an open secret for a while, but now it's official:

Haha, gotta' love the East German M1956 for the NVA.

God, what an UGLY helmet; hands down the worst iteration of the German Stahlhelm. I guess I could forgive that if it was practical, but from what I hear it wasn't a particularly good piece of headgear. Just by looking at it you can see that it just sort of... "sits" poorly-contoured on the cranium, not particularly ergonomic, or covering. Oh, and it looks like a glans penis, so there's the tip of the iceberg.
Still, it has a bit of a weird charm to it, sort of like the cheesy Imperial Navy Trooper helmet from Star Wars.
Anywho, sort of ranting at this point, but the North-Vietnamese had some sort of obsession with silly headgear. I think I made a post quite a few pages back about how one dude was rocking a pith helmet that looked like a lamp-shade cover, which is also present in the game. Kick-ass.
New wave of beta testing tomorrow, check your emails if you signed up.
Hyped for testing out the next beta. When exactly does it start though?

They have! Bunch of new people coming in!
Damn, they didn't pick me.
Same... :(
Damn, I can only download 4 GB left this month.
I haven't gotten to try it yet, but they've added the DP-28 back into the game as a weapon option for one of the Vietnamese forces' machinegunners.
So now we can play Red Orchestra in Rising Storm 2. So long as you get a map with Vietcong on it.
Wouldn't it be fun if they made a WW2 version of this game?
Combat feels a lot better in Wave 2 and Hue City is a stellar map, like really damn good. Wish I had more free time to play this, lots of fun.

Oh yeah they also added vines that Vietnamese can climb up.
After testing it out I can safely say that the DP-28 is just as satisfying to use as it is in RO2.
For me at least, it blows the RPK out of the water. And you don't even have to be mounted to aim down sights with it anymore either.

Also drainage pipes that they can climb up in urban maps.
God damn did they change the weapons sounds or something? The TT-33 and AKM sound terrible
Yes they did, I have been very vocal about it
I miss the alpha Type 56, current sound is KF2 for auto loop and some other sound for semi
The M14 got changed twice now, miss the alpha one but the current one is sorta OK
I didnt get picked, damn it :(
weapon sounds are just placeholders still iirc. if you don't like them remember to tell the devs so in the feedback survey though.

Rolling through the front
In a Panzer IV
Shooting all the Ivans down
Hear our Mausers' roar
I keep checking my inbox to see if I got a invite. Have they been sent out yet?
