I will never use grenades again. I always end up killing a teammate somehow
check your map before you chuck a grenade, you can see where your allies are. in rising storm and red orchestra you can also look at your compass/minimap, i dunno if thats still in RS2.
Factual footage of me playing this game. But seriously I'm loving this game. Hearing "Run Through the Jungle" at the main menu felt good and got me pumped. The people on the server I joined were the best. Conversations were pretty much, "I got Victor Charlie in the Tangos by Echo. I'm gonna drop some Bravos on them, copy over." At one point someone was quoting Mel Gibson lines from "We Were Soldiers". Then during a match on Song Be, me and the squad were in a Huey and the pilot landed in the ricefields to let us out, but instead we all started tumbling through the map into infinity. And I'm pretty sure my first achievement was a Filthy Frank reference.
I will never use grenades again. I always end up killing a teammate somehow
I forced myself to naturally check the map first. But then a guy runs to the grenade instead, even though it's 10-30m away, jfc
Fuck yes, got my beta key! Time to dig up CCR's entire discography. [editline]12th May 2017[/editline] AW SHIT SON they beat me to it.
I will never use grenades again. I always end up killing a teammate somehow
Grenades are fun I once killed 3 guys and a tunnel with a single grenade
I will never use grenades again. I always end up killing a teammate somehow
Throwin shit out of windows is such a gamble right now. Theres like a 6 inch extension on all the collisions currently.
I don't like how the teams change after each round. I want to stay in the same team ffs. Also the M60 overheats way, way too quickly Oh and i cannot alt tab, or do anything to minimize the damn game to the desktop.

We would say that around the Tripwire and Antimatter guys so often that it probably drove them insane.
I got the "oh baby a double" achievement for two headshots with one bullet. :v: I was quite proud of myself.
I managed to shoot down a heli with a mounted MG and killed 2. I felt really proud of myself Also i really think that there needs to be bigger player caps. I don't know why but i really miss the feeling of a frontline from RO2. It seems like here everyone is running around and die really quick and the fronts tend to shift extremely rapidly. For example there is a map where there are 2 objectives you have to take. What happens is that the whole team rushes to one, captures it after a fight, then goes to the next leaving absolutely nobody at the one they just captured so it gets captured back by the enemy, and this keeps repeating. The enemy can also very easily get behind you or your team so camping is not really a good tactic.
I played it for a few hours yesterday, very fun game. Combines the more enjoyable parts of RO2/RS and streamlines them. The atmosphere, audio and graphics, are real good. I also love that there is no unlocks and that you can use everything out of the gate. I've played at least 4 matches on each map and the only one I'm not too fond of is Hill 937, but I've never been big on any of those "Rush up/down a hill and get shot" maps. I tried flying helicopters a few times but its hard as shit. I wasn't going to get it at launch since Vanquish was announced but I'll probably just get both. I can see RS2 become my new go to FPS.
Got oh baby a double clearing a room with the duckbill. Swear that thing has a 20 foot spread, bagged 3 VC in 1 shell.
I hope they add more maps to the base game. Specificañly more transport helicopters focused maps.
Can also get that oh baby a double by melee.. it wasn't very satisfying and goofy the way I got it. I saw two people snuck up on them and then it dawned on me I forgot which key is my melee button so I hid by going crouching right next to them face into his sack and had to ponder for like 2 secs and remembered and I started bashing away, went to the 2nd guy and he just stared at me as if trying to figure out if I was friendly I and I just beat him to death. And I hate how alot of people on the Viet team doesn't dig squad holes, like youre job as a SL is so much more easier to do. I get so fed up that I just make my own squad and advertise it like some porno to get people to join my squad "my hole open 24/7" "give good holes" etc etc
rpg sniping is the best thing ever [editline]12th May 2017[/editline] nothing like seeing a squad of GIs turn into a cloud of blood as soon as they disembark from their huey

Seems like something broke steam overlay in the game for me. When I open steam overlay it takes forever to pop up and then that breaks the ingame microphone. My game is acting really strangely.
GI LEAVE VIETNAM, GI GO HOME IN BODYBAG
more like in a soup can
Honestly I thought "WELCOME TO THE RICE FIELDS, MOTHERFUCKER" was from some big Vietnam movie like FMJ up until a few years ago, and sometimes it still gets me. It really does sound like an action movie line
I have no idea how the tiebreaker mechanic works. But it makes it so we win so I guess it's good?
I have no idea how the tiebreaker mechanic works. But it makes it so we win so I guess it's good?
You score is made up of everyone in your teams score. Whoever has the higher score as a team wins.

The helicopter took off unscathed. I honored the fallen for their heroic sacrifice in chat and someone called me a fag :frown:
It's weird the types of people you meet Today I met a 20 year old flight frank impersonator, A semi obscure /d/ artist, a YouTuber, and a man who only spoke in broken English in a heavy Spanish accent That guy was our commander. He made us into Napalm ash like 2 times
There are things in RO2 that I like more but RS2 is still good, just different in a good way. I really enjoyed RO2 battles since there are obvious battle lines but RS2 has me running around like Battlefield.
I like how fluid it feels. I liked RO and RO2 but one thing that never ceased to annoy me was every single person playing the game as if it were Sniper Wars: The Game. Of course this is because you let people loose with high velocity precision rifles in maps there's a ton of places to hide and little-to-no cover to advance. If Stalingrad was more like it's namesake and played as Vietnam does, I would have enjoyed it more.
Does anyone has any tips on how to properly stop and land a helicopter without crashing it into something 5 kilometers away from the helipad? :v: (This issue have been haunting me through all games that have helicopters, actually)

The worst is when you make a mistake and completely lose all control. Thank god there's a training level, or I would have never touched the helicopters again. I tried watching real-life helicopter landings, but those don't help since the helicopters appear to make maneuvers that are impossible in Red Orchestra because the controls are too heavy handed. My best advice is to find the option that lets you fly with a keyboard. Mouse flying might be smoother but you have to move the mouse so much, it's very sensitive, finding the neutral position so you don't drift around is difficult, and you cannot look around and control your vehicle at the same time. Sadly keybinds for vehicles don't exist (yet?), so you'll have to make do with what they give you. Space is lift, Ctrl is fall, WASD control pitch in each direction, and QE control facing; QE is very weak though, and it's much more effective to turn by banking with A/D, with W/S/Space to make corrections as needed. Sitting in the air holding Q or E will just make you a target. The only other thing I can say is keep an eye on that white circle on your compass thing. That circle is a top-down depiction of your speed and direction. If it's forward and to the right, that is the direction you are drifting. When coming in for a landing, pull back until the circle is nearly centered while pressing the fall button (crouch) to counter-act the helicopter's want to climb. It's preferable to keep the circle slightly in-front or if possible, the very middle, because letting it go behind or to the side is the first step to losing control of the situation as you are now moving in a direction you didn't intend to. Another thing is just before landing you'll want to pump the thrust so you don't crater, the helicopters are very delicate and it's very easy to smash them. I'm still learning and I've only practiced about an hour and a half total, but that's my experience so far. I can't wait for the tanks though, that's gonna be so great. Tanking was one of my favorites in Red Orchestra.
Duckbill shotgun is fucking :speedfap:
Duckbill shotgun is fucking :speedfap:
I prefer duckbill to the trench and the riot variant (which still has a spot in my heart)
