Is it just me or is Firebase kinda unbalanced? It may have been my team deciding to Rambo it but it feels like the VC can bumrush C and B while the US is still capping A.
It's weird the types of people you meet
Today I met a 20 year old flight frank impersonator, A semi obscure /d/ artist, a YouTuber, and a man who only spoke in broken English in a heavy Spanish accent
That guy was our commander. He made us into Napalm ash like 2 times
I met a guy who worked in a morgue on DOD
I can't wait for the tanks though
The devs have already confirmed there will be no vehicles whatsoever. No tanks, APCs or patrol boats, only helicopters.

Any reason as to why?
From the Discord:
[AMG] Jackett - 11/24/2016
Yeah
one of the challenges with ground vehicles was justifying them whilst remaining realistic
like people keep asking for tanks and the historical basis just isn't there

[AMG] Jackett - 12/09/2016
tanks in RS2 is pretty much a case of 'there is no historical battle for them'

[TW]Yoshiro - 02/06/2017
and the TL:DR on tanks in general - one major tank v tank fight
both sides decided "that was dumb"
Maybe they'll consider doing small APCs somewhere down the line, but I highly doubt it.
Are the devs going to add local voice chat? Only gripe with the game is a seeming lack of teamwork (still really enjoying beta so far though)
I'm fine with no tanks, but jeeps and APC trucks would be pretty nice. Could give VC an option to boobytrap roads etc.
Are the devs going to add local voice chat?
They're already said no to that too. It causes huge performance issues apparently.
dang, i really want to micspam i am a real american without annoying everyone in the server
They're already said no to that too. It causes huge performance issues apparently.
dang that's a real shame
There better be Ia Drang and Khe Sanh when the full game comes out
Flamethrower is so much better than the one in rising storm, almost feels like cheating sometimes
I don't like how a few of the weapons are locked off in Supremacy.
Like the guns should just be allowed in regardless of the "type" of people your going against. Just say it is a "Joint Operation" between the US side versus the NVA PAVN side.

It's massively unbalanced, the VC get easier access to C and B meaning they can easily get an early foothold and keep it.
I suck so much ass at this game, it's embarrassing.
Anyone else getting some bad stuttering? I feel like I shouldn't be getting it with an i5 4690k and a GTX 1070.

I don't think there's any game-mode specific weapon locks.
Different factions have different weapons available to them - for example, people used to complain about both the M40 and the XM21 being available to marines and army - which led the developers to restricting them to the appropriate faction

The game is super unoptimized and iirc a post on the forum said it puts 90+% of the load on 1 core
The game is super unoptimized and iirc a post on the forum said it puts 90+% of the load on 1 core
Any way to force it to use more cores?
The devs have already confirmed there will be no vehicles whatsoever. No tanks, APCs or patrol boats, only helicopters.
Tanks I could see, although I was really hoping for at least asymmetrical balance of Pattons vs RPG-7. APC's though should be added, the M113 saw a ton of use.
Riverine would be sick as hell. Could be used as transportation and fire support with the zippo
Give walker bulldogs

Wanna know what irks me the most?
"Get back in the fight soldier."
But on that specific map it's the US Marines.

That does not mention patrol boats which were a thing.

4670 & 1060 here.. i can run it at full res (1920x1080) without a HITCH, but maybe that's because I turn off the shite like anti-aliasing, etc.
it also loads the maps refreshingly fast even on a generic speed SATA, giving me first pick on the load-outs.
Is RS2 worth the $25 CAD in it's current state?

Well this beta going on right now is only for a certain time I think. It is a great game though.
Also,
Found a guide that fixed my frame issues so now I can run maxed out. I followed everything except where it said to turn off steam overlay and it works fine.
Don't even need to buy it for beta access, I got a key but it's been in my spam folder.

Running at a steady 60fps+ at 2560x1440, everything turned on and set to highest possible including AA
gtx 1080, i7 3770k and 16gb 2400mhz ram plus an SSD
Got sent this image by Sheepay and a few others:

This is my third or so credit with the TWI and AMG teams. We also were brought on to do some film for for that one show called WWII's Greatest Raids, in which we did tons of filming in Red Orchestra 2/Rising Storm. It's also where some of the models for those western theater mods came from IIRC.

Was weird to be part of this, but was really fun to watch it on TV, and also get to point out to my parents the small oppsies some of us made in acting. :zing:

It's a fantastic game, and if it gets a lot of preorders it may give more incentive to get ARVN and ANZAC DLCs going.
They're already said no to that too. It causes huge performance issues apparently.
Is there a more in-depth explanation of this? I would have thought the network overhead would be identical. Is it something to do with applying listener effects to an audio stream as its made?
