I will say shooting down choppers is really satisfying. It's just really annoying with how quickly they respawn. But hey, if they don't mind doing the same thing and get shot down another 6 times in a row by a static .50 cal without learning, then that's fine by me.
I'm fine with how fast they respawn, they have a dedicated class to them. Being a pilot would suck if you were shot down and had to sit at the airbase doing literally nothing for one minute. Shooting down is really satisfying though, my first hit was with an RPG-7 on the tail rotor of a UH-1 moving low and fast. Blew the tail clean off and killed 2 on board, and I got to watch it spin out and go down behind the treeline.

My favorites are either shredding the main rotor off the littlebird and watch it fall like a rock, or sniping the pilot out of the Cobra flying fast overhead with an SKS while the .50 cal completely misses.
what is this capturepoint bullshit will have everyone capping the last point and will still fucking lose
Today was a good day for rockets, I took down a Cobra from pretty far while it was moving. But more proudly, I shot down the Recon Plane!

I've never been good at estimating distances, but that looks like a ~300 meter shot.
Really hope the US/South Vietnam forces gets defense maps, kind of boring to always be on the offensive.
It would actually give some use to the claymore aswell
More scavenged weapons for the VC
i've seen people using the DP 28 how do you get that?
It's already in the game, VC machinegunners can use it.
It's already in the game, VC machinegunners can use it.
ya i know
how do i get it i don't have it
ya i know

Step 1: Wear black pajamas
Step 2: Receive pizza pan
Step 3: Make GI go home
play on a map with NLF like hue and select it as a machinegunner
it won't let me use NLF
Edit: nvm

The claymore is surprisingly strong, the weakness comes from how long it is to set up, how clunky is, and then you have to detonate it. This means doing all this near enemies that could rush your position at any time, and that is assuming you're fully concealed while doing this. You have to press 4 for your smoke grenade, then press 4 again for your claymore, then find a place that supports it, place it, then take out the detonator, then detonate it. That's a 5 step process in close proximity to enemy soldiers!
Onto the bright side, if you do survive all this, the claymore is extremely lethal, more than I've ever seen a claymore in any game being. Obviously they're always toned down for balance, but in this they have a very long effective range and very high damage. I'll have to think of some more creative ways to use them, if they're effective.
Claymores are good toys when playing skirmish

claymores have deceptively long range, I use them on that one hillside map when going to C/D by planting a pair towards the uphill trenches and then blowing them up, sometimes lands kills from like 30-50m away, it's ridiculous
also, the vietcong scout's double-barreled shotgun is amazing, slugs are amazing, everything is amazing, 10/10
Aren't real life claymores effective to around 20m to kill, while everything else is "fuck your face and skin"
machinegun bipods really need to be fixed.
It's fucking annoying setting up the bipod at a window or wall and just having bullets hit the wall when you try to shoot someone
[editline]22nd May 2017[/editline]
and fucking buff suppression while you're at it
Dunno why suppression got nerfed so hard in RS2. Makes MG almost pointless
Changed around the gear meshes to better match the new loadouts.
A lot of extra pointless stuff has been removed, like the VC now longer have AK magazine holders when their role doesn't have AKs.

I had to adjust this bandolier significantly to make it not float, how's it look?
Dunno why suppression got nerfed so hard in RS2. Makes MG almost pointless
I remember MG34s and MG42s would completely fuck you up in RO2 and give you basically no chance to return fire.
In this shit you get shot at and it's just 'ayy lmao headshot u'

Did you make those pouches along his front, like the model?
I didn't make anything, I just edited the existing models. The body mesh is completely untouched.

if I recall correctly, I'm almost sure I saw a VC running around with a bush on this back, how do I get that. Don't think I saw it in the customization menu..
Didn't I see them including 30 round magazines for the M16A1 somewhere in the beta stage? Also it'd be cool if they included the XM177.
Yeah the M16 seems at a serious disadvantage in almost every situation compared to the more powerful, higher capacity AK series. It's only noticeable perk is slightly better sights, and much more control on full-auto. However, firing it full auto is pretty much suicide due to the tiny magazine.

Might have been a developer. Vietnamese Bush Camo and american Tiger Stripe are developer items only

They were a thing in alpha / early beta, but the armchair historians bitched hard enough for them to be removed

Used to be this way, but with the many buffs it received I'd honestly argue it's the opposite. The current iteration of the M16 is a beast, a pretty accurate laser gun that lacks in magazine size

That was a developer. AMG staff get camouflage for NVA/VC, and Tiger Stripe for US.

The game checks your Steam account to see if you're on an approved list, so there's no way to get it without modding.

bruh M16 is good as fuck
you can quickly single fire with almost no recoil, it's accurate as fuck, and theres almost no bullet drop

Bring back Advanced Rifleman for US, give them M16A1 with 30 round magazine, and the CAR-15 with a 30 round magazine.

I always feel like I have accuracy problems trying to use any of the Assault Rifles in full auto, or even burst. Ironically the Grease Gun I can full auto at long range and reasonable effectiveness. People hate the sights on it, but the gun's a beast, I always take Pointman or Combat Engineer for that gun.
