Nothing is better than clearing a trench full of GIs only to look up and see a phantom streak by dropping sriracha on you.
Had my best game yet. Flamethrower only with 22 kills... subtracted from teamkills :vs:. I tried to tell my squadmates it was very volatile.
I feel like this game might bad netcode and that's why everyone thinks hitreg is so fucked up. So on your screen, you come around the corner and start shooting the fuck out of them and you die, on their screen you come around the corner and stand there for a second and they shoot you. I feel like 1/4 of my deaths are me pumping lead into someone only for them to fire one shot back and kill me.
Those double barreled shotguns are sniper rifles with a huge hitzone and dmg potential and I love it.
added yo
That was a lot of fun, game's great when you're not pubbing entirely alone.

CoD had that problem and it was awful, shooting someone 4 times with an SAR and then on the killcam you stand there like an idiot and shoot once.
yeah, getting plenty of cases of badreg. Starting to wonder wheter my shots are out of sync with the server now - I know it can happen with the RPG
Having played a lot of RO1 and 2, I have to say that RS2 is a step back in so many different directions, and at this point I thoroughly regret having spent more than two hours playing. Hope the devs put a lot of effort into this post-launch; it needs it.

The only real gripe I have besides some desync between players a sort of lack of maps and a lack of a campaign mode or swapped sides (US defend/VC attack) which would definitely see some actual use of claymores. I'd also like to see you get credit for kills if you murdered someone priming a grenade. But overall I'm having a blast with the game, much more so than RO2 on release or any of RO2's post-launch content and I'm also having more fun than RS1's content as well. I'm in love with the pace of the fights and hip firing on full auto when you turn a corner and have a Han Solo moment and just try to take as many of the enemy with you is great. Sorry to hear you're not enjoying it for whatever reasons those are.

My main gripe is the tk penalty system. It needs to know when to punish or not. If you die with a live grenade in your hand and people are too bitchy to forgive/lack effort then you're fucked for something that isn't really your fault. Or if you are a commander and you drop arty getting a ton of enemy kills, but two morons ran in and don't forgive. Commander definitely doesn't need the penalties because it can fuck the whole team, same for squad leaders. If someone is really just fucking everyone over with tks then people can just vote kick them.
Wait, is forgiving supposed to remove the timer penalty? It hasn't been for me, that a bug?
Wait, is forgiving supposed to remove the timer penalty? It hasn't been for me, that a bug?
It removes a large portion of the penalty but you're still slapped with like 5 seconds.
tk spawn timer penalty is the stupidest shit ever
tk spawn timer penalty is the stupidest shit ever
Found the commander
Unless my mind is making up memories (which it does annoyingly often), at one point in the beta squad leaders would be hit with the TK spawn penalty if their mark resulted in friendly fire deaths.

One thing I do miss from RO2/RS1 is the largely useless cover-system the game had. It might not have been that useful, but it felt good to use, and it's something you don't get in a lot of first-person shooters. I have fond memories of actually getting a couple kills blind-firing a Mosin Nagant from a trench :v:
The problem with ro2 was that there was a lack of good maps. They all felt linear and small. In rs2 the maps are much better, but I feel like it needs more of them.
I love RO2, but I still don't feel the PTSD as the previous games except for the nightmarish artillery.
Hoping for an Urban Supremacy map, close quarters building to building combat, long range shots down a street. Would probably make a good place for ground vehicles if they'll add them.

He got one too many tk's from commander arty.
I really liked the multiplayer campaign thing they had in RO2, and the manpower system. It felt like it was a very good premise that just needed some extra polish and care. Gave you a sense of progression as well, and it kept people playing consistently to achieve a goal, even if there was no particular reward at the end and it made no difference either way. I dont know why they completely removed it in RS2.
I believe it's planned. Right now it really wouldn't work as there isn't a large variety of maps to choose from for 64 players, and the campaign mode took almost a year after release for RO2/RS1 to be in iirc.
What a game.

When crouching in a trench the sight is high enough to aim out but the gun is low enough to just shoot dirt. Very annoying as a marksman.

So I get penalized no matter what it seems.
