Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad V5 - Rising Storm

So I had always been saving the RPG for the better players while I learned the game, and finally gave it a shot on CuChi. That thing is an IRRESPONSIBLE amount of fun to use, and you can basically hold off the Americans indefinitely with a bit of luck and support. Its amazing to see a game where RPGs actually go through walls to an extent, which makes perfect sense but has never been in any other game that I've played, and it means you can be a lot less accurate with the same results.
The best shot I had was from B onto the red building at A, it hit the lip of the roof, but because of the penetration it managed to kill 5 or 6 GIs hiding behind the roof's wall.

afaik the way the RPG works in RS2 is that it makes an explosion on the both sides of the wall if it hits a wall
so it's really good for bunker/house busting and removing squads of GI from behind a wall and stuff
the toned down death sounds/character chatter is really lame lol
"oh dang oh jeez guys, let's stick together!!"

"I'll get the purple heart for this!"
No, mate, you're fucking dead you've got no limbs.

RPG is disgustingly good on Hue. Get onto the balcony at D, right hand side theres some crates you can sit ontop of that makes you incredibly hard to spot. I've never been engaged from this position but you have to be mindful of arty and napalm. From there you can shoot the front approach to D and fire directly into E. Shooting at the building on their side of E almost always nets easy ass multikills. Then when you run out its a 5m trip to the ammo resupply.

"Grrr, I hate those vietcong," is said after seeing a guy like 5 feet away get his head blown off, a guy who could easily have been you, and it is said in the same tone of voice that one might use in phrases as "I hate slow drivers" or "I hate people who don't flush". "I'd better be getting a heart for this" is what americans say after the beautiful Izh-43 takes chunks out of them, as if they are merely exasperated at the inconvenience of being made to bleed to death in some uncomfortable foreign jungle.
I did hear one minute-long death gurgle that made me slightly uncomfortable, but it was only once in hours of play.

You shoulda played in the beta. Every single corpse would moan and cry for like 2 minutes straight. It was hilarious(and unnerving) to have an open field full of pulped GI's going Oh man guys I'm gonna euugh make it guys nonstop.
Rising Storm was the best with death sounds, since it was performed in english (because fuck non-native for HoS).
"Guys...please don't leave me...I don't want to die on this rock! Please! Come get me, goddammit!"

Please tell me there's a way to increase the chance of this happening, I want Hell on Earth NOW
Yeah I found the American voices in general are too "gruff lifer". How often in Vietnam movies did the young guy or the new guy flip out when his friends get nailed from out in the woods somewhere? RO2 makes it look like everyone's gone full jaded mode.
I want my light hearted young draftes ala FMJ. The RS2 dude sounds like budget action movie man and it feels out of place for Nam. The lines are good, like "you arent as friendly as the girls in Saigon" but the voice isnt immersive enough.
If you switch to a black character it changes your voice and I prefer the black guy's voice to the white guy's.

yea!! I'll GET you, charlie!
Though I still kinda like the VC voices as shitty as they are. I look forward to the "haha I kill u :^)" on every killstreak.
Honestly, I sometimes wish that AMG and TWI would recruit some of the folks from the community to do voice lines. Not only would the game have a variety of voices, but it'd increase the immersion overall.

You oughta mention that on the discord or the official forums, it seems like an option to me.
Tbh anything is better than what we got now.
US side, Hill 937, run out of reinforcements. Guy on the VC team starts playing Hanoi Hannah and a few others start yelling "GI GO HOME!"
God I love this game.
It's gonna be a good harvest boys, the hand's are comin' in nicely this year.

Man the ppsh is an all around beast compared to RO2. I was plinking dudes with ease on Valley at 120m+.
Not sure how impressive it is, but I got a 40m kill with the sawn off
I love shotties in this game
does anyone els ehave an issue with major lag and framerate drops on the 64 player gamemodes? I can play skirmish just fine
I know Squad Leaders not putting tunnels down is annoying as shit but please be understading that it's not easy to put a tunnel down when our spawn is fucking surrounded k thanks.
Not putting tunnels down at all is better than putting a tunnel in the middle of an open field 40m from the cap
It's like these people play to get spawn killed on purpose
I had an SQL place a spawn tunnel right next to the regular spawn
I had an SQL place a spawn tunnel right next to the regular spawn
Was it on Hue? I find that I sometimes have trouble finding decent spots to put one down until the last phase as defenders.
If it was on supremacy then :v:
It's not just the vietnamese with SL problems. I've had a few american SLs play at sniping the objectives from spawn, every second SL is never alive, and in one notable instance I was stuck in a squad where the SL had, in his infinite wisdom, camped behind a bush between both objectives and smack in the middle of the combined vietnamese field of fire.
I love being an American SL because it means I can sit sort of back and pretend I'm suppressing anyone while letting everyone else get the kills and capture the points and die horrifically. It's like being a supervisor at a really unsafe Vietnamese work site.
