Though i would like more garbage guns as the VC. I love using the mosin whenever i get the chance but it's not "rice farmer" enough for me

Double barrel is a step in the right direction but where is my single shot pipe cannon?
I wonder if 20/20 or even 24/24 skirmish could be viable. Jungle feels pretty good currently but Firebase and Compound had moments where it felt empty despite them all being alive.

true, but sometimes fewer players also means very tense and realistically slower paced gameplay
You must've killed a lot of people, I've seen a US commander napalm almost the entire US team and not get kicked.
The last time I commanded I was doing great and got kicked because I finally scored one teamkill with spooky. I haven't commanded since. Totally killed my buzz.
Have I mentioned how Commander is my favorite class yet?
Something about sensually teasing my SLs over the mic about the fact that there are hot single airstrikes available in their area really gets me going.
How? Just throw the free purple smoke to find out.
The DP28 is amazing.
I haven't played Commander yet, I'm mic shy and not too confident in my actions.
I remember a few years ago on RS1, there was this 8-10 year old kid who played commander. We all laughed and had our fun. Turned out he was the best commander I've ever seen, and we all loved him.

Playing commander is really, really easy. It really depends on the SLs if you're gonna be effective though.
You could get away with micless commander in ro2. Dunno if you could in rs2 with the new systems.

The vast majority of my commanders don't talk. Commander is actually really easy, the most difficult aspect is knowing when and where to call in support, which requires a bit of map knowledge and observation of where your team is moving.

I mean either way it's really easy, it just becomes a matter of being able to call in good strikes or not. I've commanded games where I have told SL's repeatedly to give me marks but its just one squad over and over providing them so I had a really easy, albeit fairly boring game of clicking cooldowns.
Hope to see more maps coming soon. Current lineup is getting pretty stale pretty fast

Correction, I only want to play Commander if I am a good Commander. I'll try it one of these days.

just don't drop arty on clusters of friendlies, call in recon when it's available and you already know 90% of the job
it's really not that complicated :v:
[editline]14th June 2017[/editline]
American Squad Leader is actually the hardest role in the game, everything else kinda pales in comparison.
I only want a supremacy map.
I don't care if it's even realistic it's the most fun in terms of play styles

You left out the one CAVEAT of being a VC commander..
Their equivalent of force-respawn can be devastating if you can get a cooperative radioman to follow you deep into enemy territory and deploy two squads of zerglings to rush the GI flanks/home objectives.

US commander is pretty easy to play, apart from what you mentioned, its helpful to keep an eye on the scoreboard so you can make the best use of your force respawn. You really just need to sit back at the radio and rely on your SL marks. You only really need to go into combat if your SLs are giving you shit to blow up.
NVA commander requires ever-so-slightly more finesse, but you dont have to rely as much on your SLs (since you habe fewer calldown abilities than the US). Positioning and a radioman can make you a real pain in the ass with the Ambush Respawn.
... Just to be sure, you guys aren't saying that you need a radio for Ambush/Force Respawn, right? Cause you can do it wherever without a radio.

what the FUCK
It's been like that since RO2. The hotkey for it is N.
Speaking of Commander, it's pretty fun when you get some breathing room to get into the fight itself.
Even better when you get to see your own airstrike.

I have NEVER seen anyone use those gutter-drain gook ladders.. They on other maps too?
yep, there's one on Hue A for example
They're on Hue. The popular one takes you straight to the top of A.
Popping tunnels with the cobra's cannon seems kinda OP. I imagine if you got 3 people together to take combat pilots you'd pretty much stop Charlie from ever spawning on a tunnel ever again.
It's impossible to keep tunnels up on An Lao unless you use the shed

That's the primary purpose of the cobra/loach team imo. Mostcobra pilots don't really give a toss though.
