That marker thing is a must in this game due to the cosmetics, and I still teamkill sometimes because the market doesn't show up and I have to make a split second decision on whether this dark shirtless figure with a boonie hat coming at me is friendly or hostile.
It amazes me how people don't use their brains in determining if someone is friendly or enemy. Sure it can be sometimes hard to tell if some shirtless guy is VC or John Rambo but would a teammate really be sitting behind your teams side of cover, aiming towards the enemies front line?
I do this all the time, and it takes ages for them to realize it. Usually ends up with a barreled shotgun in the face

It's funny, in Ro2 teamkills were always at long range, but here most of my teamkills (received or given) are on like <10 m range.
I've done the same in the cobra. You just need to get altitude and hurl yourself in a direction. Has anyone recovered from having the tail physically come off? Also, can you auto-rotate effectively if you lose engine power? Also, has anyone suffered a complete loss of engine power before?
It's not just about hurling yourself to get out of the spin. You need to gain altitude THEN drop collective before pitching down in the desired direction. Decreasing collective drops the torque generated by the blades. I'm not sure if a complete loss of the tail allows you as much control but the same principle should still work. I haven't see a complete loss of engine power that wasn't accompanied with my helicopter doing a complete flip (because for some reason the DShK imbues all of its bullets with a force push hex) but in that case you should be able to rely on autorotation to land safely but only if you drop collective completely.
Decided to fuck around a bit as NVA, primed a grenade and ran into a squad. everyone immediately fucking bolts, but one guy tries to shoot me, but then starts trying to melee me instead. Boom.
I like how melee actually works in this game.
I like how melee actually works in this game.
The bayonet is utterly pointless. The range and kill advantage is tiny if there's any at all. I just don't bother putting it on since it makes ADS tougher.
Not to mention by the time you actually get in bayonet range you're shot dead by a full AK or M16 mag.
I am finding it many many times harder to melee kill in this than in RS/RO2, and not because of magazine capacities. I'm just constantly missing or not in range even though I feel like I should be.
I once bayonet charged with an M16 in tunnels while the retard I stabbed somehow missed every shot with his SKS
Speaking of bayonets: Sorry about the tear in the footage. And for my fucking terrible accuracy in the beginning.
I like how melee actually works in this game.
I don't mean to be a dick here but did you post in the wrong thread? Because my experience is so many leagues from yours if you didn't that I don't even know where to start.
Ignore bayonets, just use good old blunt trauma by whacking them with the butt of your rifle. Seriously blunt melee is an instant kill if you get them in the head or their spine which is a lot easier since it's a sweeping motion rather than a poke.
Or whip out your shovel/mattock if you are a VC
I have yet to get a shovel kill I know what I'll be doing
The pickaxe has an AoE. You can cleave multiple GI with it. Shits fun.
Look, if you're not going for uppercuts with the binoculars you're never gonna get ahead in the melee game.

That feeling when you charge a flamethrower with a pickaxe and successfully kill him... It's too bad that I wasn't recording that scene.
I got a good backblast
I don't mean to be a dick here but did you post in the wrong thread? Because my experience is so many leagues from yours if you didn't that I don't even know where to start.
Hmmm, odd. I've used melee about 3 times so far (on unaware opponents, to remain stealthy) and all 3 times connected without a hitch. Never used the bayonet thought. I guess this is why we don't rely heavily on anecdotes.
Is it just me or do the PAVN and NLF radio ops have normal backpacks instead of radios? Edit: When I was watching the last dev stream on Twitch, PAVN radio ops had the radio Joe posted, but ingame for me, they only have backpacks.
Wish the radiomen could sort of be in a squad with the commander, or do like the transport chopper pilot and "attach" to a squad while still being able to use a commander-channel or something. Proximity chat would be cool too.
Is it just me or do the PAVN and NLF radio ops have normal backpacks instead of radios?
They do have radios, but they're covered up: I guess AMG's character artist just couldn't find any references for what an NVA backpack radio looks like. :v:

You'd think they would've ironed a lot of the issues with ragdolls in their engine by now.
would a teammate really be sitting behind your teams side of cover, aiming towards the enemies front line?
Uh, isn't this is how it is supposed to be? Should a teammate sit behind the enemies team side of cover and shoot at his own teammates? Well this isn't exactly how I imagined getting THAT achievement. [vid]https://u.nya.is/tscglx.webm[/vid]
Well this isn't exactly how I imagined getting THAT achievement. [vid]https://u.nya.is/tscglx.webm[/vid]
that's pretty much how I got that achievement too, except on song be, roughly south west of C. Interesting that it counts, even when the chopper is grounded.
