Considering that Facepunch has essentially become the equivalent of my home when it comes to online communities, I am surprised I didn't post this earlier.
I have been developing a modification with some awesome people for a couple months now - and we finally got over a pretty annoying hurdle which made characters look all sorts of fucked up.
Introducing : the [B]Green Army Men[/B] mod!

The mod looks cool, but why did you go with Green vs Blue? Most (modern) Army Men sets usually have Green vs Tan.

Blue doesn't stick out nearly as much as you'd think, actually - and the models will be shinier either way, so they'll be easy to spot

That was actually an ammo loadout for the M16 during Alpha and early Beta - but it can no longer be selected.
It's very easily restored, however - as you can tell

Yeah, I know. I still don't like how they took it out because "historical accuracy" or something along those lines.
It's upsetting how slow it is to rank up in RO2
Like I want the 44/42
But i've only just hit frontline soldier for elite assault.
On the other hand the best way to get levels/points seems to be shooting gallery levels. It's upsetting how many levels are just laughably one sided against the attackers. I was thinking that I was less competing with the enemy and more competing with my allies for who can drop the most guys before the inevitable victory.
On the plus side my Gewehr has gotten some good levels, leaping over the xp I got for Elite assault in a fraction of the games. On the downside I don't think there's any interesting unlocks for elite rifleman.

If you REALLY want to cheese the whole leveling, just get into a server that's empty, but with a decent amount of bots and farm there.
If you really want the mkb you can buy it
Anyone know how I can get back into this game? I stopped playing it almost 2 months ago and I don't wanna play it again, but most of my friends are playing it
I'd make a stargate mod for this if I had knowledge. Red Orchestra really works as a platform for it

the cunts will have L1 and L2s, aswell as the Owen & F1 Smgs, and the hi power. the devs said the models were too shit to show during the pax panel so they just gave em m16s.

I don't think you should show shit if it's not ready and wrong.
I dispise the bots and i wouldn't try and cheese it, at least not unless it got pretty bad.
Like, all they do is get in the way/feed/provoke friendly fire with their irrational actions. Also their detection is fucking terrible and odds are they'll go right past you if you're the enemy and shooting at them. Their only bonus is that they pad out the levels and you don't feel so bad if you can get a couple of kills into most lifes.
What's vietnam running on and what've they improved?

It's probably just semi-final low poly models with completely white textures or something.
Just like how in the alpha, the flamethrower had it's model added in, but the textures weren't done yet, so the flamethrower was this greyish white.

Scouts/pointmen carried the M16 for its automatic capability over the SLR. I assume we'll see a similar thing for RS2.

No RO game has ever done those right. The only one that was decent (for me at least) was the one in Rising Storm (Guadalcanal? I don't remember)

why doesn't RO have PanzerSchrecks /panzerfausts/Flamethrowers?
It does have the Panzerfaust, however the Panzerschreck only arrived very late war. Flamethrowers probably weren't used enough to be included, or simply out of technical scope.
If you meant RO2, then pretty much the same thing. Panzerschreck wasn't invented yet, flamers were too rare, and the Panzerfaust would be too OP with the new tank mechanics.
I actually did implement the ROKS flamethrower as part of the IOM mod, too bad it's ded as a doorknob now.
But isn't that the same for the Stg44? It arrived very late war.
Also, I heard heroes of stalingrad has a few maps that aren't stalingrad. So surely there could be a few with those post 1943 maps out there?

The STG isnt in RO2. Trips used the mkb 43 which was a prototype.

STG44 isn't in the game, MKb42 is.
