• Resident Evil Megathread: COMPLETE GLOBAL SATURATION!

I started playing the game yesterday and I just completed the first encounter with Daddy Baker. How spaced apart are the save points? I don't want to start playing then have to leave before I can save.
Is the headshot zone on the enemies kinda weird? Sometimes they go down in three while other times it takes almost the entire magazine
Loving Resident Evil 7 so far, it's the perfect racist hick family simulator.
??? I'm not too far into the game but I've not heard any sort of racism
its a joke on stereotypes you fools
It didn't really come across like that, but whatever, sorry. What's the best way to deal with molders? On my first playthrough I mostly shot off a leg and then knifed their head, but it seems like it takes just as many shots as just shooting them in the head.

Honestly the shotgun is probably my favorite weapon. All the weapons feel good in this game.
I really didn't like the [sp]flamethrower[/sp], it felt inefficient for how much ammo it spent.
I really didn't like the [sp]flamethrower[/sp], it felt inefficient for how much ammo it spent.
It's really only useful for the old house area. After that, I just left it in the item box.
I think it is intentionally designed to be more a tool than a weapon
I kinda wonder if RE7 reuses RE4's system where [sp]ammo and item supplies are spawned dynamically, and enemies take more or less damage, depending on how well you're doing.[/sp]
Landmines are overpowered. When you get them you basically have no reason to use anything else - you have more mines than there are enemies in that area. And they oneshot everything. [sp]Big guys only need two or three.[/sp]
I wish I could skip the prologue when I restart in Madhouse mode
I wish I could skip cutscenes every time I die to a boss.
Madhouse mode is super frustrating because of this
So does the game have anything instant death or just things that deal a lot of damage? I didn't notice anything try to instantly kill me in my first playthrough except, at best, [sp]one phase of the final boss but, but then you've basically got no time but to shoot in it anyway.[/sp]

I've tried it out by giving myself infinite health against [sp]Jack Baker when he has the chainsaw thingie[/sp] and if he gets you while you turn your back on him, it's an instantaneous death that completely bypasses your health.

[sp]Whenever I had my back to him in that fight he'd just put his hand on my face and turn me around. Is this a madhouse mode only thing?[/sp]

Found out the hard way; [sp]It's when he opens them up like scissors, and charges at you - If he doesn't hit he usually slams into a wall.. I got my head chopped off trying to run away and dodging him[/sp]

And he can do it right in front of you, [sp]like he'll just start the charge animation but if you do as little as scratch him you just get forced into the animation[/sp] It frankly makes those fights lose all credibility and sense of reward because suddenly it becomes very clear that you're just fighting a scripted event.
Oh well that doesn't sound too bad. That's kinda similar to the hunters in REmake.
Well it's pretty fucking jarring when you're doing good and you're pummeling a boss and suddenly the game decides to fuck you over and pops an instant death on you to make you start all over again.

Because after I got the [sp]chainsaw[/sp] and it told me how to do a thrust attack I just kept spamming that shit without a break (with the exception of me having to restart it once) and he died very soon after. [editline]a[/editline] I don't remember the fight too well because I guess I cheesed the fuck out of it and finished it first try so attack patterns aren't exactly stored in my memory at all
[sp] Lucas' code door trap one shots [/sp]
I can't imagine anyone actually getting killed by that. You have like 15 seconds to take a step back.

I've also been encountering a bug frequently that locks mouse movement entirely when pressing tab. Like it prevents camera movement for the inventory but doesn't allow it back after. It also doesn't seem to apply to controllers and the only way to get rid of it is to completely restart the game. This was an issue with the demo already.
[sp] Lucas' code door trap one shots [/sp]
[sp]I think it locks you in if you put in one of the codes he gives you, not sure though. Has anyone tried putting in the correct password at that part?[/sp]
