Wrong fight
Also blocking supposedly negates a lot of damage if you use it right, so try to keep that in mind. [sp]finding the car keys can get through the fight a lot faster rather than just waiting it out[/sp]

does the "Success of Defense" or whatever transfer over if you have it in your safe box or do you need it always on you?
You need unlockable items on your person for them to take effect

Well shit. LOOKS LIKE I'M GONNA HAVE TO DO MORE INVENTORY MANAGEMENT.
Also why the fuck can't you remove ammo from other weapons, it pisses me off.
I keep on getting my shit slapped by Jack on Madhouse in the garage and having to sit through the two cutscenes that lead up to it is annoying. I am shooting him in the face with Albert pistol and he just doesn't give two shits, he'll run faster than me, spin me around and slap me over his knee and I die in two knees to the faces.

get some distance and after each shot, give him time to recover so he can be staggered again. otherwise you'll be reloading after each recover and he's already nearly on you again.

I figured out a way to bug him out to the other side of the car, get the car keys, and run him over repeatedly until he drives himself into some T beams.
It's really bothering me that I can't take ammo out of other weapons. I could REALLY USE THOSE FOUR SHOTS, CAPCOM.

you can also just get the keys and then trash them to make him get into the car himself. then on he's an easy target
the circular saw is arguably the only reason i've made it this far into madhouse (right near the end on the ship), those post-game unlocks are pretty strong assuming you go after them.
you can stunlock jack and assuming you watch for when he telegraphs his swings you can take him out anytime he is roaming.
maybe i'm too used to the old resident evils but i found madhouse to be still too easy. the only real challenge was starting again with no weapons on the ship. other than that i still finished with a huge surplus of ammo and healing juice
How varied are the item locations on madhouse? Does it only change things like herbs and ammo locations or are keys and special items completely different?
everything except notes and mr everywhere's are in different locations. including guns and keys. excludes few specific story items that wouldn't make sense to be found elsewhere.
[editline]1st February 2017[/editline]
for some reason, the grenade launcher is in the caravan. not locked away either.
All the unlockables you get for beating Normal mode in under 4 hours with all the Mr. Everywheres made madhouse mode an absolute breeze.
The order I played was Normal ----> Normal with all collectables under 4 hours ----> madhouse and now I have everything unlocked. I'm really bummed PS4 gets DLC already and us PC players have to wait a bit.

Basically, anything that's out in the open, not in a crate or container is in a different spot bar some stuff like the first pistol and such. Items in things like wardrobes and crates except for a few exceptions are randomised.
[sp]I'm surprised at how many people chose to cure Zoe. Ya she's neat, but all she does is just tell you where to go on the phone. Mia is your damn wife and it's obvious she's not in control of herself throughout the game lol[/sp]

[sp]Seems to me like she was hiding the details of her job. She just called it "babysitting" meanwhile it's a little more complex than just babysitting.[/sp]

[sp]I find that silly. She had a secret job, but whatever they were married and obviously still love eachother considering what they each do to save one another. Ethan ditching her out of the blue to save a woman he knew only on the phone and talked to for maybe 5 minutes is an odd choice.
I also think Ethan isn't so dense to think she was actually babysitting away from home for weeks/months at a time.[/sp]

[sp]Zoe's the only reason you even get far because she helps you and probably sets up the tapes in positions to find them, the antique coin cages, and so forth.[/sp]

[sp]Honestly babysitting can mean anything from actually babysitting to babysitting(looking after/taking care of) something or someone important. I've used the term babysitting for when doing some jobs that im not fond of[/sp]
[sp]Zoe's the only reason you even get far because she helps you and probably sets up the tapes in positions to find them, the antique coin cages, and so forth.[/sp]
[sp]That's only thinking in the scope of gameplay, which ya if the game had no story the choice would be Zoe all day. But it makes zero sense with the story. I feel like they shouldn't have even made it a choice and just made it so Zoe tells Ethan to cure Mia. She could say that she decided to stay with her family, or whatever is left of her home.[/sp]
So, I just beat [sp]Waspycunt[/sp] and I'm wondering a few things about the game.
Does it get any scarier? So far, if I had to liken it down to another Resident Evil game, I'd probably pick 4. You may be stuck in dire situations, but you have so much mobility, health and ammo that it just isn't frightening.

so was ethan though [sp]dude is obviously umbrella. to me the story seems to imply that mia was evaline's handler for another corporation and ethan was working under umbrella keeping tabs on her. obviously at some point the love became real though hence he goes looking for her. the guy can get headshots and reload a pistol with a freshly severed arm. also killed an entire family of infected metahumans singlehandedly and didn't seem surprised to see umbrella mercs at the end. either he's had some training or he's the baddest fucker in the series.
considering umbrella were able to tune into his watch radio, that belonged to mia, it's possible that umbrella were the buyers of evaline too. so yea mia's secret job is the least of their issues.[/sp]

[sp]This all kinda makes me wish we see Ethan and Mia again. They were both pretty fucking badass. I'd honestly put Ethan on par with Chris and Leon in badassery.[/sp]

[sp]Apparently one of the earlier RE games lists an "Ethan W." as a deceased high-level Umbrella operative. Our protagonist's name is Ethan Winters and the developers of RE love their strange connections. But nothing for sure yet.[/sp]

I like him for being such a true to life extension of the player. When I'm saying "What the fuck?" He's not usually far behind in saying it himself.

[sp]considering re7 takes place in 2017 and re1 is in 1998, ethan would have been too young at the time to be on a list of researchers.[/sp]

The list is in RE5.
I've heard some negativity towards the last half of the game, but I actually liked it. [sp]finding out that Mia was actually some badass agent was pretty cool, the whole tone of that flashback felt like something out of Alien.[/sp]

now it makes sense
[sp]i can see a GET AWAY FROM ETHAN, YOU BITCH line in there[/sp]
i wondered why the game was called biohazard in japan but resident evil everywhere else. basically due to the localization team for english didnt want to trouble of trademarking the name biohazard in the US, so because the game takes place in a mansion they called it 'resident evil' and they didn't like it but the marketing team loved it and so it stuck.
and its a good thing, resident evil is such an iconic name, it would be strange if it was just called biohazard.

As a kid I thought Biohazard and Resident Evil were different game set in the same universe, and whenever I searched on google for gameplay and screenshots of them I got mad sometimes because it was just the resident evil games. How little did I know
