Resident Evil Megathread: COMPLETE GLOBAL SATURATION!

As I said before, whomever Mia worked for they are in cahoots with [sp]Albert Wesker, because H.C.F. is his own private army. (see Code Veronica)[/sp] If anyone missed it the document mentioning them is in lab on one of the tables. This opens up a lot of possible theories on what will happen in Not A Hero.

I was actually really happy that they got mentioned <3

[sp]We possibly have a name for the company, Tentsu.[/sp]
Also spoilered parts of your post, think they might be spoilerish even if expected.
[sp]This all kinda makes me wish we see Ethan and Mia again. They were both pretty fucking badass. I'd honestly put Ethan on par with Chris and Leon in badassery.[/sp]
Nah, game would've been done in 2 hours tops if one of them would've been the protagonist. They (Ethan and Mia) are action survivors, and those are pure action heroes. [sp]Chris canonically fought with huge rock with his fists and WON.[/sp]
I wonder if biohazard outbreaks with zombies have become something people are used to in the Resident Evil universe. I mean Leon and Chris sure, they are always in the thick of it and zombies probably do nothing for them now. But the civilians.
Wandering around the house. Love how like every bad guy in the series has an obsession with the most convoluted ass locking mechanisms.

Oh bugger, my neighbours a zombie.
i wondered why the game was called biohazard in japan but resident evil everywhere else. basically due to the localization team for english didnt want to trouble of trademarking the name biohazard in the US, so because the game takes place in a mansion they called it 'resident evil' and they didn't like it but the marketing team loved it and so it stuck.
and its a good thing, resident evil is such an iconic name, it would be strange if it was just called biohazard.
Another game was just released in the US called Biohazard at the time RE1 was being made. They couldn't trademark Biohazard because of that game so Capcom held a contest to figure out a new name. Eventually Resident Evil was settled upon and we got our beloved signature name. I'm honestly glad it happened too cause Biohazard sucks. Resident Evil just sounds better and is a lot more immediately recognizable.

I wouldn't say "possibly", it has to be pretty much confirmed. The name is right there on the briefcase with the end game's macguffin.
The world must be a very different place by RE7, considering that just a few years before, like 4 million people in mainland China die in an afternoon

Yeah, Resident Evil just has a really catchy quality to it. Its also a nice nod to one of RE's inspirations (Sweet Home, which the home in that game is referred to as a house of "residing evil").

Sounds like the typical afternoon at FOXCONN.
But you have a point though. Someone brought this up on another site once, but they mentioned that theres likely also some real bad, borderline irreparable damage to multiple ecosystems due to virus leakage and theres likely a shitload of mutated animals all over the place, on land and sea.

I can't imagine how the oceans look with the T-Abyss virus being a thing.

Funding for underwater exploration is either nonexistent or a sizable chunk of defence spending.
'Resident Evil' is a bad name, should have used 'Biohazard'
Probably 'Resident Evil' was used to describe the mansion in RE1.
But biohazard is the theme of the series, not a mansion

First, awful opinion.
Second, "Resident Evil" in the sense of "Evil" "Residing" somewhere is applicable to essentially every game except for RE6.
[editline]1st February 2017[/editline]
The Mansion (RE1), Raccoon City (RE2, RE3, Outbreak 1 and 2, Survivor 1 and 2, ORC, any flashbacks to it), Rockafort Island (Code: Veronica), The village and Salazar Castle (RE4), Kijuju and Spencer Mansion (RE5), the Bakers house (RE7), those two boats in Dead Aim and Revelations, that island from Revelations 2, probably missing some, etc. are all locations in which evil resides. While the title of Biohazard is certainly more on topic with the stories as presented in the games, Resident Evil isnt irrelevant because they almost all focus on a location where bad shits going down.
Just got done with it, yeah easily the best RE iv'e played for a long time.
Onto theories I have / spoilers.
[sp] We never see Ethans face throughout the entire game, and that's done deliberately, he's suspiciously proficent with a variety of firearms, does not seem overly fased by whats going on to the extent he seems angered at whats going through the game and not scared half the time. And when the 'cavalry' turn up at the end it somewhat implied he was expecting them. I think 'Ethan' is potentially a charecter we already know, and it's a cover alias or maybe he himself belives that he really is Ethan for some reason. The house has had Umbrella choppers flying over it, so the corporation knew what was going on at the house and it's likely the've found the ship too. I think this was a planned mission all along. Not just a husband looking for his wife, though that's what we the player are led to belive.
Lucas is probably going to dealt with in the DLC by 'Redfield' in 'not a hero'. Alpha and Bravo teams of Umbrella might be working with Ethan, but they're not there to save his life, they just want him alive because of the virus that resides in him and mia, Alpha and Bravo teams were there to contain the situation, but that was not their mission. 'Not a hero' im gonna assume ends with Ethan and Mia being taken into a research lab and locked up. Also given that RE6 is a next gen title, there's no reason for 'Redfield' to look and sound drastically different to his RE5 and 6 self. So i don't think that's Chris, i know the credits state it is, but they'd ruin the suprise by listing him with quote marks or anything that hints he may be someone else. There is a part of me that thinks he could be HUNK, even though previous generation titles have shown his face, (one of which might not even be cannon desipte a certain newspaper article you can find in 7 which might just be an easter egg).
Failing that Chirs might be a double agent, and not working for umberella, or as has been seen in the series before, mind control. needless to say I'm interested to see what the ending was all about [/sp]

it also applies to someone literally having evil residing within them, i.e. a virus

[sp]Chris is also in a new CG film and looks roughly the same as his RE6 self.[/sp]

You can 'see' his face in the game too, but it's purposely blurred out [sp] when you're playign as Mia [/sp]. Wouldnt be the first time a game has used a placeholder head though.
Maybe he's a charcter with a history we'll learn about.
It's Elijah Wood

ethan is billy, spoilers
Ethan is actually another experiment by Umbrella
his eyes are cameras that's why the game was first person view, like what they did with Nemesis in the resident evil 2 movie
it explains everything
My money is on Bruce Mcgiveashit.
[sp] actually im thinking Steve whatever his face is, though he died in code veronica, Wesker did say he'd bring him back to life and the whole HCF recovery thing, was only 17 iirc too. [/sp]

That would be the most catastrophic thing to ever happen to this series if that ever happens.
Well it's not like Resident Evil hasnt got previous in the area of doing stupid things is it :v:
fatherrr!!!!!!
Arghghghghhhhghhhhhhhhhhhaha
I know i'm the one who said it, but i really fucking hope that's not the case.
