Could be that he's completely unaware of what[sp]Umbrella[/sp] is, and just figures it's some random rescue team. From the looks of things, [sp]Umbrella had their eyes on the Bakers for a while, and were observing from afar until shit got out of control[/sp]
[sp]Given you hear their radio chatter in the mine Ethan literally meant why did they wait so long to sweep in.[/sp]
So, since this happens in 2016, does the world know about everything else that happens in all the other RE games? [editline]3rd February 2017[/editline] While I have not played the game, videos I have seen show enemies to be kinda boring and bland. In a game where you're either solving puzzles or shooting monsters, I feel like shooting monsters should be solid as steel.
Yeah the facial structure of that model and Mia line up really well.
99% sure it's the same face model [thumb]http://orig09.deviantart.net/f733/f/2016/363/d/e/resident_evil_7___ghost_girl___normal_head_by_luxox18-datdjqs.jpg[/thumb]
So someone told me [sp]that RE7 is a reboot is this true?[/sp] Ah thanks guys didn't think so. [sp]Im glad they didn't since every time someone I know says they should reboot it I always just telll them that they should just make a new game with a whole new character disconnected to the larger events and I guess that's what they did so I WIN[/sp]
So someone told me [sp]that RE7 is a reboot is this true?[/sp]
Short answer - no Longer answer - no, it's just first person.
Short answer - no Longer answer - no, it's just first person.
Ah thanks man
Reboot is kinda true. It goes back to the roots of the series with a bigger focus on survival horror.
Reboot is kinda true. It goes back to the roots of the series with a bigger focus on survival horror.
But it doesn't throw away 20 years of lore like most reboots do.
Reboot is kinda true. It goes back to the roots of the series with a bigger focus on survival horror.
Reboot implies that it retconned everything and started anew, and that's not the case. [editline]a[/editline] Also thankfully it's not just called Resident Evil so that we'd have three different games with the same name.
Its like a "soft" reboot, keeping the lore but going back to the original games style presentation.
[editline]a[/editline] Also thankfully it's not just called Resident Evil so that we'd have three different games with the same name.
I'm sure as heck that some illiterate is going to call RE7 just "Resident Evil" due to how the 7 is designed.
So RE7 takes place after RE6 then yeah?
So RE7 takes place after RE6 then yeah?
Yep, the game takes places in 2017
It's not a reboot at all, just a 'love letter' to the orginal game. You pretty much alone stuck in an old house that's filled with secrets, puzzles and monsters.
It's not a reboot at all, just a 'love letter' to the orginal game. You pretty much alone stuck in an old house that's filled with secrets, puzzles and monsters.
[sp]With a few of the same themes and a puzzles. Shotgun with weight trigger, animal-based key doors, etc.[/sp] It's a straight up throwback to RE1. I wonder what they'll do for the next game. I can't imagine they'll ditch the perspective or themeing, but they can't just do "big mansion house thing" twice in a row, can they?
It's probably going to take place in a small town a la RE2.
It's probably going to take place in a small town a la RE2.
I sincerely hope so.
It's not a reboot at all, just a 'love letter' to the orginal game. You pretty much alone stuck in an old house that's filled with secrets, puzzles and monsters.
But.. that is... rebooting. Going back to familiar places while opening new ways for the future. Minus the retcon thing. It would be a loveletter if they said: "lulz, we go back to making bad third person shooters with no survival horror for the rest of the future"
But.. that is... rebooting. Going back to familiar places while opening new ways for the future. Minus the retcon thing.
The defintion of rebooting in this scenario (entertainment medium) is to disregard all current continuity to this point. RE7 does not do that. it is not a retelling of an original story neither does it retcon anything either, hence why it's not a reboot, it's just borrowing previous estabilished themes / ideas and combinbing them with new things to continue the story.
But.. that is... rebooting. Going back to familiar places while opening new ways for the future. Minus the retcon thing. It would be a loveletter if they said: "lulz, we go back to making bad third person shooters with no survival horror for the rest of the future"
So its not a reboot. [editline]3rd February 2017[/editline] At most, you could consider it a soft reboot, keeping the continuity while resetting the actual presentation, as ive mentioned.
Personally I really dislike the term soft reboot because it's just a throwaway blanket term for people who absolutely want to put method labels on everything even when there's no need to.
Personally I really dislike the term soft reboot because it's just a throwaway blanket term for people who absolutely want to put method labels on everything even when there's no need to.
Perhaps a better term would be reset?
It's literally a sequel. Just because it's first person doesn't means it needs a new word. It's the same universe, is canon, takes place after the latest game. It's by all definitions, a sequel or a continuation of the series.
But.. that is... rebooting. Going back to familiar places while opening new ways for the future. Minus the retcon thing.
You should probably google "reboot definition fiction" If Resident Evil 4 isn't a reboot, which is sure as shit is not, neither is Resident Evil 7.
The ghost girl is not in the main game. Dude in the demo was on LSD.
[sp]Or was he?[/sp]
I'm glad I read that post about kiting the molded with the knife. Horror goes out the window when you can make heads explode with a knife
Yeah the facial structure of that model and Mia line up really well.
Plus, it could very well be Mia spying on the Sewer Gators team before their demise, in her mind controlled and deranged face mode. http://residentevil.wikia.com/wiki/Mia_Winters Caution, spoilers! Even says its her on the wiki, and it honestly makes sense anyway.
Plus, it could very well be Mia spying on the Sewer Gators team before their demise, in her mind controlled and deranged face mode.
Eh, I don't think so. She straight-up disappears from thin air, it's not like she has a walks-out-of-view animation or anything. It seems more like hallucinations caused by the dude from the demo being on LSD. [editline]a[/editline] After all, she isn't in the tape in retail.
any one got a link to the current speed run route info? or a video of it? i'd love to give it a shot and try to find some optimizations.
