any one got a link to the current speed run route info? or a video of it? i'd love to give it a shot and try to find some optimizations.
watch this guy. he usually attempts new speedruns like every day. he's live now practising. he has some videos of his runs but he's made faster ones since but for some reason hasn't uploaded them https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCciQy6UNr--bmRxidI6zsbA/videos
also was it just me or was it obvious that [sp]eveline was the old lady? probably connected this the second or third time you see her.[/sp]
also was it just me or was it obvious that [sp]eveline was the old lady? probably connected this the second or third time you see her.[/sp]
After that note you find near the end, yeah. Before that not really. [sp] Something was not right about the old lady sure, there's no photo's of her in the house and no one mentions her at any point so it's somewhat clear she's not part of the real Baker family, but not to what end. I suspected she would be the "Big Bad", but we had no reason to 100% expect her to actually be a biological weapon that started out looking like a kid. [/sp]
My thoughts about her were that, [sp]Either she would be completely innocent, stuck here immune somehow but still trapped with them, seeing her family become literal monsters. Or she would be the big bad.[/sp]
(end game spoilers) [sp] So i did ending 2 and apparently it was the bad end as i did not want to playthough again just yet but could not understand how that was a bad end i decided to watch ending 1. Honestly i much prefer ending 2 as all 1 does is make me wonder how they found her and why they rescued her over dealing with the god damn bioweapon. it feels like a happy ending for the sake of having a happy ending.[/sp]
all the resident evil games have happy endings
I would not know, this was my first Resident Evil and i know next to nothing about Resident Evil.:v: but it got me to buy REmake and the puzzles have been fun and i actually enjoy the tank controls so i am going to see were this ride takes me.
tank controls are good, haters are imbeciles
tank controls are good, haters are imbeciles
As a almost exclusive PC player all this stuff is new to me tank controls are one of them, but i really am enjoying all of it the tank controls add a nice tension to combat the prerendered backgrounds are nostalgic and the game doesn't treat me like idiot and hold my hand the whole time. all and all i would say its very enjoyable and probably the only game with zombies i have enjoyed in 5 years :v:
I hope you started out with Jill on the toughest difficulty. Be sure to kill every zombie you come across and save at least 10 times before reaching the residence. I only want to help you.
Well you are not far off i did pick Jill on the hardest difficulty i also went original controls because i wanted to experience how it was originally meant to be played not how it was changed to make people more comfortable.
Don't know how far you are but in that case here's a few tips: Bait zombies and dodge them. They won't always do so and you will need to kill some key zombies in a few areas. Go for headshots by letting them get just close enough to attack and aim up, though it isn't reliable. Save your GL and especially the shotgun for later in the game. Dont save more than 7 times before making it to the residence outside the mansion, to be safe. Plan your movement accordingly and backtrack as little as possible; You can only exit through the broken door from the 1st floor stairwell 4 times I believe before the knob falls off. Ration your kerosene; only burn zombies in frequented areas with tight corners. If a zombie breaks down a door, leave the room through the nearest exit. [editline]3rd February 2017[/editline] I'm not spoiling everything, but that should save you some trial and error. If you burn through your saves too soon you'll probably have to start over.
Well probably going to start over anyways as i need to wipe my save data because i accidentally saved in slot 7 and now its driving my ocd insane i will keep the tips in mind.
tank controls are good, haters are imbeciles
The classic games are borderline unplayable with normal analog controls because of all the camera angle switches. RE2 on N64 was an interesting experiment with the "3D movement" but it just makes things more confusing when you're running forward and suddenly the camera switches to face the player and the controls spaz out.
I think RE7's style works well. Free movement control and aiming, but your movement and the claustrophobic environments means enemies can and will get the drop on you if you don't make sure to watch your back. While your slow movement speeds almost always assure that Jack or some other enemy will catch up to you if you try to book it, it makes kiting them that much more satisfying.
I'm debating on getting Resident Evil 4 so I can finally play it for myself. Should I get new cords for my gamecube and play the original game, or should I buy the remastered version for Xbox One? Which one is better?

I'm a bit late, but I just finished RE7. It was fun, but I had the feeling that my hand was being held throughout the entire game. I was always given just the right amount of ammo and health, and the moment the going actually got tough, I'd get a new weapon or a shit ton of supplies, putting the difficulty back down to a much more manageable level. It really brought down the whole horror aspect of the game for me, because I could always tell that I'd be fine, and would never be put in a situation where I was backed into a corner. [sp]Except for the fight with Marguerite, which caught me off guard. That was great.[/sp]
Madhouse will definitely put you into a corner really often, unless you use the unlockable weapons (like I am cuz I suck at this game). I'll definitely have to do a NG madhouse playthrough.

nah if you have a gamecube, that's still the definitive experience. the hd versions have some fuckups like many levels having the wrong colour filters and missing effects. that or the wii version (but personally i don't like the wiimote aiming) the pc version with the hd mod will fix all this so that is the definitive way once it's released
Is the gamecube version 60fps?
that or the wii version (but personally i don't like the wiimote aiming)
iirc you can play the Wii version with a Gamecube controller [editline]4th February 2017[/editline]
Is the gamecube version 60fps?
No, 30.
Is the gamecube version 60fps?
it's 30 but it's definitely playable, especially on a CRT tv. that's the framerate it was designed around after all 60 on pc is great no doubt but it's not as pure an experience will all the missing effects
I guess it's personal preference, but I'll take 60fps over missing effects. Sucks that the rifle reload is stuck at 30 though.

I remember playing the PC port of RE4 at one point and it being really really bad. I mean quicktime events displaying the wrong buttons and things like that. I couldn't ever progress past the first boulder scene because I couldn't figure out the corresponding buttons. Does the Steam version fix these issues?
I guess it's personal preference, but I'll take 60fps over missing effects. It also has a neat glitch that lets you do everything faster.

I wish we could've [sp] saved Jack. [/sp]
