Resident Evil Megathread: COMPLETE GLOBAL SATURATION!

whatever it's the pc version someone will just release a fix
Is the full game as cryptic as the demo was? I feel like a whole game like that would be kind of frustrating.
I've been playing through all the RE games on Steam. Beaten 5,6 and REmake so far, just about done with Zero. Was the first time I'd played REmake, that game is a masterpiece, holds up amazingly well. I'd played 5 before and it's still a solid coop experience. Played 6 solo and didn't hate it as much as I thought I would, Leon's campaign was ass but but everything else was at least mediocre.

it's been stated that no, it's not. it's far more tradtional RE puzzles
-RE7 unlockable stuff-
Are there any minigames similar to Mercenaries in RE7? I know it's a less action based RE just I always found the side modes kinda fun even in the old games.
Maybe something like mercenaries will come from the season pass.
So it is a spoiler to know when RE7 take place in time?

Well no, it was stated months ago it's set during June 2017, furthest in the timeline so far.
Honestly, why hasn't capcom made a full Mercs spinoff game (beside the 3ds one), all they'd need to do is take the Mercs mode in 6 and just add more characters and stages to it. It'd be better than goddamn Umbrella Corps

I know a couple of people who bought the first Resident Evil Rev 2 episode literally just to get Raid Mode, there's just something about their brand of combat that feels unique to Resident Evil, it's clunky a lot of the time, but when you master it, it feels great.

No, characters and the world in RE's universe roughly coincide with our own. Any time it's a main-series numbered title you can assume it's taking place sometime around our current time period. RE1 (1996) took place in 1998, RE2 (1998) remedied the two-year time gap by still taking place in 1998, RE4 (very, very early 2005) took place in 2004, RE6 (very late 2012) takes place in 2013, etc.
It's months off sometimes (or in the case of the first game, a couple of years) but the RE world ages with us.

Can go ahead and add RE5's versus mode to it while we're at it. I wasn't personally a fan (because I always got my ass handed to me), but I know the mode was always populated enough to find a game pretty quickly back when I played on the PS3.
Xbox CEO Phil spencer confirmed that if you buy RE7 digitally for Xbox one you also get a PC copy free and vice versa.
probably window store only tho, if you want to find a catch.
also the 4chan leaks on re7 convinced me to buy this even though i cant handle games like amnesia, that webm of (RE7 scare Spoilers) [sp]the old guy trying to kill you with a car in a small garage sold me because of how amazingly silly and scary it can be at the same time: https://u.nya.is/hardbb.webm . I haven't spoiled myself on anything else except for a few screenshots that dont make sense to me currently so :ok:. it probably helps that the only RE games i played alot of are RE4 and Revelations on the 3ds. [/sp]

Yeah like I posted in the news node thread, you may aswell buy the game twice for £52.99, rather just get the game once for like £40 on steam or £24.99 on CDKeys
Greenmangaming has it for $47, pretty much the cheapest i seen so far US-Wise.
it also includes 10 games that you'll probably only look at and not touch.

I only know about the demo level but where abouts is the main game actually set, will you see the house and the family, I really don't know anything about the main game lol

That looks fucking awesome. I love this family already.

this is why japanese developers will always be the best.
taking something to the absurd but still playing it serious.

it lends itself so much better to horror.
GAME UK (as much as I don't condone pre-ordering, they're always pretty decent at it) have got their copies in, they'll be sent out First Class on Saturday I'd imagine.
The DLC appears to have leaked their contents, something like 7-12 extra hours of gameplay
From a bit I saw of combat (albeit with the infinite ammo unlock on), the first-person gameplay could still lend itself to a Raid Mode / Mercenaries style of gameplay interestingly enough. The shooting mechanics are developed enough for it.
Getting that dirty coin in the demo is a pain in the ass. At least I'm the best ever now.
What does that coin even do in the full game?

:mystery:
I bet it's something really dumb. Like, you put it in a capsule machine, and get another dummy finger.

Purpose of coins: [sp]it's a currency for a shop in the form of a trailer. There's a limited amount of other coins you can find throughout the game which you can use to buy from the trailer.[/sp]
Apparently the game is about 10hrs long, according to the leak.
That's pretty short by today's standards. With only a different mode difficulty being somewhat replay ability.

What non-RPG singleplayer games are you playing that are over 10 hours
[editline]a[/editline]
Looking at the playtimes for the games in 2016 all the highest non-RPG non-open world ones are around like 11 hours each so I don't see how this is "pretty short by today's standards" at all.
10 hours is also not abnormal for a Resident Evil game. RE6 inflated that a bit but mostly because of four campaigns.
True, although RE4's singleplayer was about 16 hours, depending on if you didn't die repeatedly.
I assume there's a lot of dying to be had in this.
I'm conflicted on buying it. It'd be the first game that I'd prepurchase in .. Years. More than 5.

You're not missing out on a lot by not preordering. Just a mode you have to finish the game first to unlock if you don't preorder, a couple of items, and a coin. And like, a Resident Evil movie or controller skin or whatever depending on where you preorder from.
I preordered the fuck out of it, but if you're on the fence I'd just wait a few days for community reviews to come out.

It's far from short by today' standards specifically. 10 hours is a pretty decent length for a singleplayer linear game.
