don't know how you'd ever [sp] pick zoe. you see her for a minute, fight a boss, and then see her for another minute before having to make a choice. prior to that, it's just cryptic phone bullshit. there's a reason she fucking dies seconds after making that choice lol [/sp]
Furthermore, why have that choice in the game to begin with
This should be the main point of discussion here, not which choice is better.
Furthermore, why have that choice in the game to begin with
It honestly feels like they had something planned out akin to how RE1 had multiple endings, but realized too late that [sp]they designed the entire backstory and the ship section around Mia and her memories,[/sp] and thus [sp]Zoe living on in the plot to participate in further things would make no sense.[/sp] It's my way of even remotely justifying their reusage of [sp]the possessed Mia fight from the prologue if you choose the bad ending.[/sp]
i bet they totally had a section [sp]where you played as Zoe instead of Mia[/sp] but they had to cut it for time

Happy Jack makes me happy.
I wish they had more pictures of the family around the house smiling and overall looking normal [sp]pre-mold[/sp] iirc all the pictures of Jack are him stone-faced or seemingly upset that there's a camera.
I want a mode where we play as Jack hunting down pieces of shit hippies.
I want a mode where we play as Jack hunting down pieces of shit hippies.
Isn't one of the dlc titled "Jacks 55th birthday" or something?
I hope that Not A Hero DLC is straight up action. [sp]Redfield and his squad place breach charges on the front door, and blast their way in, then they just kick open doors unloading on any molded they encounter with some cool music playing in the background[/sp]. I don't know, maybe it's too soon to pull the rug out from under us after taking us back to survival horror, but I think that would be hilarious and amazing.
Isn't one of the dlc titled "Jacks 55th birthday" or something?
In that we [sp] collect food to feed Jack, we play as Clancy probably. Poor guy can't catch a break. [/sp]
Where's my [sp]Pete DLC?[/sp]
Anyone notice that Marguerite's lip syncing is just awful? Like, they didn't even try?
Anyone notice that Marguerite's lip syncing is just awful? Like, they didn't even try?
Yeah, it was most noticable in the "bedroom" tape. I actually turned Clancy's head away from her just so I didn't have to look at it.
I can't get Jack's "Yuk yuk yuk!" out of my fucking head
Anyone notice that Marguerite's lip syncing is just awful? Like, they didn't even try?
Her lips don't move at all for me at the part where [sp]she yells, "stay the fuck out!" and summons spiders on your face. All I ever see is her just staring at me that almost looks like face version of a T-pose.[/sp]
I still remember the arguments about racism towards RE5 and laughing them off like they were stupid. And then I got to the section where the Plagas makes this random tribe devolve into spear throwing, loincloth wearing and quite literally yelling "ooga booga" natives. Everyone I have talked to has apparently blocked that section from memory
I can never forget those tall fucking assholes that make that high pitched "ololo" warcry, and other bullshit. I hated that area, especially the underground section, but thats probably because I had to deal with the AI being my partner.

Fuck those lasers, man. And fuck the QTEs.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/lGia1J3.jpg[/t] And that's a wrap. I don't really have much to say beside that this is the best Resident Evil game I've ever played and one of the strongest videogame released in 2017 this far: great direction, great atmosphere, great gameplay, great all around. As I said earlier, the only complain I could have are certain scripted scenes, which doesn't mesh to well with the flow of the game, and the sudden direction the gameplay takes after a certain point. (I don't know if choosing a different ending makes the endgame any different, but [sp]from the moment I got to play as Mia on the ship till the finale I didn't enjoy the game as much as I did in the previous levels. This could be due to me not liking Mia to begin with, but: 1) The moment you arrive on the ship, you must rebuild your resources while running from monsters like a bitch 2) At a certain point, Mia gets such powerful hardware the game becomes a breeze 3) After retaking control of Ethan, you get all Mia's stuff plus all the (many) things you managed to scavenge up to that point, and the very last areas are very generous when it comes to stuff lying around 4) The final boss of the game is just something big and scary but pretty much stationary you just get to shoot a few time to end the game[/sp])
just did my all coins, 3 item box uses, no healing items run. i am out of reasons to replay the game now
Knife only run.
knife only madhouse run it is then
How exactly one can acess the Banned Footage Vol. 1 DLC and Ethan Must Die scenario? Are they exclusive pre-order content and I'll have to wait for a later release or ...?
I don't believe that content is out on PC yet. Sony exclusivity and all that.
I don't believe that content is out on PC yet. Sony exclusivity and all that.
Correct. PC and Xbox don't get it till the 21'st of this month. Vol. 2 should be coming out the 14'th as well for PS4, but should release at the same time as Vol. 1 for the rest of us.
[sp]This was absolutely great up until you beat Mutated Marguerite, then it shits itself. The scenario with lucas is total wank and totally ruins the theme of the farmstead, everything beyond that point is just throwing endless waves of the same enemy towards you ruining all the tension the start of the game has. It almost feels like the ship wreck section is made by entirely different people pacing wise, thematically it also changes to fit a generic horror game setting. The game really shines when you're fighting Jack and Marguerite as a menacing thing you have to run and hide away from, all the black goop enemies fit the first encounter in the basement but the overuse renders them a joke later on. I really have no clue why all horror games force themselves into the corner with industrial settings being a must near the end. i'd be fine with me exploring more corners of the Mansion running from just the family members. Fuck, this game was so close to being amazing. I can't believe they went with the cliched kid dressed in all black angle. [/sp] Overall the game is stunning the first 2-3 hours, then it feels like someone else took over and went a completely different direction with it.
Honestly it bothers me that the main house is the most refined and well-developed part of the game, and the old house isn't bad but very same-y looking all around [sp]besides the children's room.[/sp] Lots of interconnected paths, holding onto keys can actually net you some neat bonuses if you know just where to look, the main house is actually a real joy to play through, even when backtracking later in the game. [sp]The fact that it's all thrown out for linearity and setpieces for a while, followed by the boring ship section, followed by what is almost literally a one-way gauntlet of enemies you're encouraged to just go gun-happy on essentially threw out all of the potential.[/sp] There's a reason why RE1's mansion is so beloved; the entire place is filled with distinct rooms and areas with shortcuts galore, and even when you go down in a linear fashion to the labs and bottom areas towards the end, it's still a fairly consistent method of game design. RE7 tries to capture this, but drops it too soon for the sake of giving the Bakers individual sections that all look and play differently, distributed between an almost hub-like zone and then whisking you away to never be able to interact with all of it again if you advance too far.
While I'd argue that the very two or three final areas are a massive shift in design and experience a severe drop in difficulty, I can forgive it considering that the shift has a distinct plot-related reason and [sp]they needed to show some elements to tie the game to the series' narrative[/sp]. Regarding Lucas' section, [sp]I'd remind you that a dangerous psycopath taking you hostage and putting you through death traps is one of the oldest and most respected horror tropes in existence (that said, I wasn't exactly thrilled by Lucas either)[/sp]

Considering this is a soft reboot now, they could've easily come up with something else. The farmstead is the only setting with any character to it that actually connects the theme of family. There's nothing remotely family about an old tanker, and why they use that setting to talk about all of the main story issues is mindbogglingly bad. 2. Obviously it's a trope. it could've worked by still having focus on the main theme of the game. Lucas' section is a couple of concrete hallways with tedious bombs hiding everywhere, waves of mold monsters, culminating with the wet fart climax of fighting a spewer with an akward guitar track in the background. Should've focused on a timed riddle that involved the same setting, i was looking forward to what his walkway signaled. A bunch of neon writing and a pulsing distorted music track, i was thinking something along the lines of the baker house decorated in cheap bulbs and re-purposed into a maze like deathtrap. What i got was a small concrete room with some nonsensical riddle that breaks the tone of the game completely. It was like playing something Jigsaws retarded cousin would've made, and Saw is already in the special eds section. [/sp] The game is great early on and should've stayed within the hub world. but somewhere along the lines someone broke it with bad business decisions during development.
So I just ran into a pretty funny glitch while trying to get under 4 hours. In the old house when grabbing the ingredient, I got to the phone and picked it up JUST before it started ringing and got a busy signal, I think the game assumed the cutscene chat was happening because I got stuck standing there holding a busy signal phone to my face until I retried. Lucky the checkpoint is just as you pick up the item so I only lost like 2-3 minutes but man that was funny.
