Resident Evil Megathread: COMPLETE GLOBAL SATURATION!

It seems like after Revelations 1, they've just been sticking with slimy flesh monsters.
Technically Revelations 2 had a zombie variant, and the CGI movies aren't afraid to use zombies again.
But then Vendetta is pulling out target-recognizing zombies and super zombies that wouldn't be out of place in a Final Fantasy VII spinoff, so v:v:v ???

Might have a spoiler or two.
It feels like you miss an incredible game by not playing RE7, and the comedy is quite good (spoilers for RE7) https://goo.gl/VSj16d
Can I just comment on how incredibly fun Jack Baker is as a villain/enemy? I'm sure it's been discussed before in this thread, but I properly fell in love with this game and Jack Baker himself when a flaming belligerent redneck started screaming "OH BOY LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE NOW MUTHAFUCKA" at me after an intense shovel-to-car duel.
It felt like that classic resi cheese/camp that I could thoroughly enjoy, and that 5/6 were lacking. Plus, the nemesis-style tracking meant I ended up seeing him a lot in my first play through.
The regular Mold enemies are boring to look at and wildly inconsistent with how much it takes to kill them. The actual main house, while very detailed and has some secrets, is incredibly cramped and you quickly are disconnected from it, leaving you with very little reason to get a feel for any particular area. It would have been neat if there were more 'puzzles' or domino chains to have you maneuver around the environment and the Bakers, with enemies making use of shortcuts to flank you instead of illogically teleporting.
[sp]In Madhouse, I killed Jack on the second floor near the bathroom, then went downstairs for a bit as well as travelled to the first safe room. When I exited and made my way back to the main foyer area, Jack burst through the wall. There's also the issue of the Bakers rapidly appearing somewhere with no actual way for them to have gotten there and clearly pop in from empty space before the game starts rendering them.[/sp]
While just running on Normal I realized that the AI is omnipotent and will actively maneuver to your position even if they have no reason to know you are there. I literally got chased around the bar in the billiards room by a supposedly unaware Jack. He'd circle it several times, occasionally changing directions, then disappear out of the room, only to walk back in just a few seconds later. I noticed this happening several times with Jack in various areas.

Margerite has a definate stealth and evade aspect to her, somewhat scripted tho.
Daughters DLC is around 15 min.

pretty short
This season pass is seeming more and more like a cash grab to me. Most of this stuff should've been bonus modes that unlocked when you do a secret or something.
Hopefully the Not a Hero is relatively long
I'm expecting not a hero to be like an hour tops.
What the fuck, they openly advertised each section being an hour to 2 hours long

They feel like extra content and modes that could've been in the final game but seem like they were cut off either due to a tight release schedule or otherwise. Nightmare is essentially a not-Mercs alongside Ethan Must Die, and the other stuff besides Jack's Happy Birthday could've been tapes and extra scenes that seem like they were pretty much just cut for the sake of brevity and not changing the gameplay up too much in the main story.
That's what I was most worried about when I saw Resi7 had a season pass, that they would just lop off all the fun extra/unlockable content and sell it back to you.
No wonder finishing the game felt underwhelming in terms of what you unlocked - they just want me to buy it instead.

So it seems like in Daughters the Baker home [sp] has always looked like shit.[/sp] They didn't even try did they?
EDIT: Are you fucking kidding me? The [sp] dog head door was also there before Evie showed up.[/sp]

Its an old rickety plantation in a big dumb swamp run by like 4 people, it looks nice enough for what it is.

Theres some paper mentioning all the puzzle oddities were installed in the mid 90's.

I suppose that makes sense. I just watched someone play it on Youtube since Capcom doesn't want my money yet. The DLC still doesn't seem worth the price to me though.

God damn I feel so bad for the Bakers
Yo, I'm hosting Resident Evil 6 Survivors on PC if anyone wants to join.
Look for Jack Baker's lobby.

Steam just went down nevermind lmfao
21 spoilers: [sp] I wish those bag headed molders were enemies in the game. They're terrifying. [/sp]

The idea is neat, but after watching it I can't help but feel like:
1) It could be 1-2 hours long with some actual gameplay, it's not that short because of the plot, like come on, it literally says in the DLC's epilogue that [sp]Zoe proceeded to search for the serum[/sp], surely she could possibly fight the molded and solve puzzles around the house, just like Ethan did? Could even play with the day/night aspect, with day bits being seemingly normal, showing what the Bakers used to be, while night quickly descending into madness.
2) It should have replaced [sp]the boat section if you saved Zoe[/sp] instead of being DLC.

Which is a shame because out of all of RE's standard you-kill-these-all-game enemies I dislike boring slimy flesh monsters the most. I like zombies, I like Ganados, I like Majini.
But the molded are just so damn featureless. Not to mention they're pretty much [sp]the only enemy in the game aside from the bakers and insects with a regular version, giant claw-hand version, fat version, and a 4-legged version[/sp]
That said, I don't mind it for just this one game. Like [sp]80% of it takes place on one property[/sp] and the focus was very heavy on the Bakers as soon as you're through the prologue. Like, let's take RE4 as an example of the opposite of RE7. The first enemy you see is a Ganado in a house, then you fight 7 more on your way to the village, then you fight a fuckload more and it goes on like that for the vast majority of the game. In RE7, you face [sp]Mia, then Jack[/sp] and it takes you until you explore enough to [sp]get upstairs, grab the wooden eagle shape thing, (maybe watch the Mia tape if it's your first time),[/sp] and go through the passage and room on the other end. They're a much more secondary enemy type for when you're not actively being hunted by a Baker.
I'll have a problem with it if the next game is in an RE2-esque city, the focus is on the outbreak, and all the enemies are generic slime monsters, because then I won't really have any reason to excuse it.
[editline]a[/editline]
Keep in mind that I still think it was a shitty decision and I don't like the molded, but I can understand and live with them not making them into actual unique people.
Holy shit, Jack's 55th Birthday is not what I expected at all, and I love it :v:

hey i'm all for them making zombies as the main enemy again, as uninspired as that is. the RE7 format would be fantastic to experience with shambling zombies and dogs.
Capcom never ceases to amaze me. I spend literal weeks downloading this game on my shitty internet and now all I have to show for it is a non-working piece of shit and wasted time.

Anybody have any idea what's wrong? If I can't get this working I'll probably avoid all future Crapcom games. From what I read, the error seems to be telling me that I don't have DX11... on a DX11 card... -.-. I admittedly have an HD Radeon 6870 but it should still RUN the game, albeit badly. I'm sick of shitty companies releasing shitty games.
Sorry if I seem pissed off, it's because I fucking AM.
reinstall directx runtimes or something? also i think it's unfair to lump re7 in with 'shitty companies releasing shitty games'. i haven't heard of a single other issue with re7, it runs like a dream boat, and has all the graphics settings you could ever want. it's what pc releases should aspire to be.
That's the problem. I have Direct X installed and updated. I could try reinstalling but I'm not even sure how to exactly, I'll give it a shot.
It's hard not to lump a game and it's company in the shitty category with Capcom's history and their game already not working at all on my PC that should be able to run it.
I noticed it while watching speedruns but it slipped my mind, but it's weird seeing the initial cutscene as Ethan drives to a stop be sort of a panoramic pre-rendered video. The moment the camera leans down and he stops the car you see the shadows jump and everything's actually rendered as a method of mostly hiding the difference. It's especially obvious when the car just sorta slides to the side before it stops, taking an impossible angle it wasn't even driving at.
Nothing I'm trying will fix this issue.
Edit: Yeah fuck it I'm done. Uninstalling this piece of shit.
