I get scared off from these long running series' because there are so many games and I can't tell which games I should play for the story.[/QUOTE] The two Outbreak games kinda fill in gaps between RE2/3, and take place the moment the outbreak begins in Raccoon City. Unfortunately they were only ever released on PS2(so far, but I'm hoping for HD re-releases), so it could be hard to track them down possibly.

The problem with Outbreak was that it was released at the wrong time. I'm sure if it was released now it would do much better, although it would probably need a proper voice chat system.

If you wanted to play Outbreak with people there was a custom server for it. I think it is still around.

From one piece of footage I saw, you still use typewriters to save and I never noticed any autosave indicators. Presumably they know their audience since so much of RE7 bled into this, though, and they'll likely make it like that game's Madhouse where the hardest difficulty requires ink ribbons for saving. It seems that taking a page from RE3, some of the item pickups and smaller puzzles for supplies are randomized as not everyone that played the demo got the same items.

also have we heard if they're going to be making the demo available to the public to download at some point?

honestly i'm just pumped for HD Fourth Survivor, poor HUNK hasn't had any playable story content for almost 10 years now

God those new gore effects look amazing. I haven't felt legitimately sickened and scared of zombies in a long time until I saw the gameplay. I think I might pre-order this.
